In this video I go over the proper way to remove the intake manifold on the Chrysler Jeep Dodge 3.6L Pentastar engine. Also i give out important tips on how to properly install to prevent cracking. You may be about to replace the oil filter adapter housing, the spark plugs, the lower intake manifold gaskets or simply to clean the trottle body of all carbon buildup. Авто/Мото

About to change my spark plugs and gaskets for manifold! Your video is the best because it's short and sweet! Hit all the right bullet points without all the bullshit! Thanks!
Thanks man. I skipped the other videos because I trust you and your advice. I'm getting ready to do my plugs and just wanted to make sure they're wasn't anything special I needed to do. The bolt advice was great.
My hands were too big to remove those hidden bolts on the back of the intake so I scheduled an appointment with my Jeep dealer. The service writer had trouble explaining to the service tech what needed done so I showed him your video! The tech still didn’t get it so the service writer asked to borrow my phone and you schooled him on his job!! Thank you! After he saw your video I was out in a jiffy!
I'm old school Army Vet and need things broken down Barney-style. Because of you, I was able to understand and accomplish the mission. Spark plugs changed. Thank you, Sir
This video is perfect. Short, sweet, and speedy but not rushed. Great explanation on Everything brotha!
Your video gave me the confidence to do my own tune up, saved me $600. Thank you!!!
Hey just a quick note, at 1:20 you say the back bolt is a 13/16" but its actually just a 13mm. Maybe add in a note to the video to clarify that.
Thanks again for the video, I had to pull the manifold off again to replace a oil cooler and this video always helps.
Thanks for the info!
😂
Glad I read the comment. What a bitch this is
Yo! Went to depot to get a 13/16...I'm like no way this huge wrench is needed! 🤣🤣🤣 Thanks for the clarification!
Yall get a standard 13mm in there or u need a stubby??
Love the simplicity of your video. My wife’s 300 had a misfire code on cylinder 2 and just my luck it was under the intake. Your video saved the day and some money. Changed all the spark plugs while I was there. Happy wife happy life. Thanks for posting it!
I'm going to replace the sparkplugs in my Grand Cherokee tomorrow. This is a great video. Short and to the point. You explained where all the bolts and brackets are.
Man, your video is out here, saving peoples lives, money, lowering blood pressure, and giving that small, but really important additional information that will help guys like me from given up. See, I did not know about that. Screw in the back holding the back plate in place. I thought it was over for me. I’ve told myself I can’t believe my got this far and could not get this thing off. Thanks.
Awesome Video. I have a Jeep Cherokee with Pentastar and was contemplating what I might have to do to remove that intake. Many years ago (30+) I worked as an engineer writing dealer service manuals, so I know a little bit about auto repair. You did a perfect job explaining that and doing it in the shortest time to keep people's attention. AWESOME JOB.
Bro I feel like I learned More in the first 30 sec than in any other video I’ve seen when you said all the different things I could do with the intake off I’m like “I need to do all those things!” Great video sir
Thank you, I know is an older video, but I wanted to comment on your no-nonsense straight-to-point and focus in those areas that can be tricky. For example, I also appreciate the attention to detail (working your way in while loosening the screws). It's self-evident this your tuber cares. And you just gained another subscriber.
Why thank you my friend. I really appreciate that.
I searched this topic out to see what other mechanics like to use for plugs. Me, I pay through the nose for the OEM Mopar plugs and coils and am looking to save $$ this time around. I really don't have much trouble removing the plenum. Toyota Siennas are my worst by far!!! The Pentastar has a couple of achilles heels and this is my respectful advice: Buy port seals, vac lines, and an aftermarket oil/coolantheat exchanger with good seals. You'll already be there swapping out plugs. You might as well address that crappy plastic heat exchanger. If it starts leaking, you'll have coolant in the oil and that's a bad day, to the max! My 2016 Caravan has just turned 400,000 miles and still doesn't use a drop of oil. The 6 speed tranny is another matter....Thanks!
I'm getting ready to check out my spark plugs and coil packs. This really helped me with understanding what the future holds for me. Thank you, man!
O cool, you should be fine. Thanks for watching. Remember to thumbs up the video and subscribe to the channel, thanks
I have watched a couple of your videos for when I did a trans fluid change on my Ram 1500 & this one because Im going to change the plugs. Thanks, for taking the time to do these videos. They have really made my life easier when doing my own vehicle maintenance!
YW my friend. Please remember to thumbs up the vids and subscribe to the channel, thanks
Made it so much easier to understand than a lot of these other videos ! 👍🏼
Probably the best video I've seen for this task. Clear and concise, and easy to follow.
Very good job making this video, I stopped the job to watch this because I missed 2 bolts on the manifold. I didn't force it knowing it's plastic. Yout a God Send. Thanks much.
This video is priceless bc that hidden bolt is the key to replacing the spark plugs...I neatly went nuts trying to figure it out on my own!
O cool, thanks for watching. Please consider subscribing to the channel for me, thanks.
@Adrian Salinas what kind of vehicle you working on?
Me too
The way to access that bolt is using a stubby 13 mm wrench. Their is no room for anything else and since the bolt is also used to support the hardness, that's the only tool that will allow you to break the connection. So, use a small panel pry bar to take the harness off the bolt, then use that wrench to break the connection and allow you to take that bolt out to remove the bracket. You'll thank me later!
Very easy way of what to do for spark plugs. Seen other videos where alot of items had to be removed before the intake. You made it simple and less stressful. Thank you.
I watched a lot of videos on this exact thing and yours is by far the best, thank you!
Well thanks for watching Kalen, please thumbs up the video and subscribe to the channel, thanks
Thank you so much for your video! I replaced my spark plugs, coils and PCV valve on my 2017 Durango. There were a couple things that were different, but able to get it done myself because of your awesome video! Thanks again!!!
Finally a video where someone isn’t going buck wild disconnecting wires good job 👍🏽
You saved my life with that 13/16 in the back. That was holding up the whole show for me

Thanks for this! Appreciate being concise and to the point, most RUclipsrs would probably drag this out into a 20 minute video...
Excellent video!! I needed to change the oil filter housing and this was very concise and to the point. Well done. 👍

Just did mine this morning! Man that bolt is hidden bro haha. This video helped big time.
Quick informative and shows how to do the job. Thanks man. Loved it. I see Many subscribers and views in your future.
Thank you so much. No other vid shows what you did. You saved me 400$. God bless.
Thank you for the very useful video. I wasn't able to get the bottom rear bracket bottom nut off, too small a space for my hands. I ended up loosening the bottom nuts on the right side brackets enough to get the posts off the brackets and then it came off. Hope that helps anyone else that's struggling with that back nut. The AC lines are in the way, but at least you can see what you're doing.
Great Video!! This thing was driving me crazy!! Thank You! 🙏
Thank you brother you showed the best way to do this. Everyone else made it super difficult explaining taking the whole damn thing off unplugging all type of stuff and I’m like man I ain’t tryna do all that. @@OnlineMechanicTips working on removing the air intake manifold and the 3 hidden bolts are impossible to reach (2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee). Can't get the last one off due to hoses in the way, hard to reach, can't see it etc. 😒
Great video, good tips, very well explained, thank you
Thanks for the very detailed instructions! Subscribed! 😁👍
Ayyyyeeee, thanks for watching the vids and subbing. More to come, stay tuned
Awesome video. So straightforward and clear. This job was stressing me out, seemed like it would be a nightmare but now I think I can handle it easily.
Thanks!
Exactly what I needed! Thank you, sir!
Thanks for watching, please subscribe to the channel for me, thanks
This video was completely a life saver. That back bracket literally gave me a Hella of a lot of trouble. After I got that off it came right off. My seals were white, so I don't know if they need to be replaced or not. I replaced my spark plugs and coil packs with some RIPP supercharge spark plugs and coil packs. I forgot I didn't reattach my connector to my air intake after starting my car and driving it a quarter mile. When my check engine light came on after starting my car 3 times it reminded me I didn't reconnect it. I hope it goes off over night if it just needs to reset. If not I'll take it to advance auto and see what they can tell me.
Yes, thanks for watching my friend. Yea thats just simple as turning the light off using a scan tool. Please remember to thumbs up the video and subscribe to the channel, thanks
I was going to take my car to a shop. I think I got it now. Thanks bro
No problem 👍
Instructions on point. Kudos to you.
Thanks for the explained video. Great job!
This was an awesome video! I’d of never found that hidden bracket without your help! That’s all I need to get mine off as well. It would have been even better if you told us what the gap should be! Lol!
lol, thanks for watching bud. Please give the video a thumbs up and subscribe to the channel, thanks
@@OnlineMechanicTips I need you to make a video on a Dodge Challenger engine I'm having engine problems where it sounds like it's backfiring or something I'm unsure what the problem may be. the codes that showed before change in how car sounded wen running was a cylinder 3 misfire and a random misfire
Exactly what I was looking for!
u made that seem very easy!! god bless you
You made great video going to try to do it myself
Thanks, pretty strait forward info
At 1:23, you said 13/16th. On my 12 Charger SE, it was a 13mm.
Now, I'm a big fan, but I spent my afternoon looking for that size, and all I found was the 13, after running to hardware store 2 minutes before they closed, because I didn't have one that size. Unless I missed something, or maybe it's an earlier engine than what you demonstrated on, I got ticked. Can you tell me if the 12 Pentastar has a difference?
You're the best. Love this channel. But I can't drink a beer at 9 am when I put it back together. So there's that.
EDIT. I'll read the comments before I gripe. You corrected it.
My bad. Keep making videos, because mediocre mechanics like me need you!
Great video my man very helpful !!!
Well thanks for watching bud. Please thumbs up the video and subscribe to the channel for me. Thanks
I'm currently trying to help a buddy do his daughter's Jeep. Problem is he doesn't have any metric wrenches. So I'm trying to get that stud/ nut/bolt combo off and without the metric size he's screwed. Another buddy who lives nearby went home to get his metric wrenches for us. Thanks for your video my friend. I can always trust you to be very thorough for us. I shared your video link with my other buddy since he owns a Journey with the 3.6. I told him that you're my go to guy for Chrysler stuff. Thanks again my man!
Just tell him to sell it before it’s too late
Awesome video bro!
Thanks for the knowledge brother !!
So helpful straight to the point
Good maintenance video!~
This is excellent information.
Good video Brothers!!
Thanks man! Excellent vid!
thanks for watching, please like the video and subscribe to the channel for me, thanks
Sweet, was wondering how to do this.
Excellent video thanks for sharing. I replaced spark plugs, coil packs and pvc on my 2013 jeep wrangler.
Whew. When I put the upper intake back on I stripped 1 of the short bolt holes. Is there a harding product that can be put in the hole or rethread and use a larger bolt.
great job explaining
Job well done my friend 👏
Great job sir !
Great information thank you very much JT
Great video!
Amazing vid thanks man big help 👍
Awesome video! 👌 very helpful
Thanks for watching bud. Remember to thumbs up the video and subscribe to the channel, thanks.
You just saved me 700 thanks dude
Yessir! Quick clean n not a lot of bullshit. Thank you big dog🤘
Worked it before, but couldnt find the third bolt on that rear bracket, had me punching air for a sscond.
Thanks man
Hey man can you just cut the wire clip on that third bolt? I can't seem to get it off
straight to the point. appreciate that.
Thanks! It was helpful
great n helpful video bro
Great one, Thankyou Jt
Thanks bro. Any tips on pulling the injector clips? I'm having a heckin' of a time getting them off.
What do you think of those oil catch cans. I read they help keep your components clean.
Nice video bruh... Thanks for sharing
No, thanks for watching. Can you be so kind to thumbs up the video and subscribe to the channel? thanks
Hey! Great video, to remove the oil filter housing, does the lower intake come off also? Thanks!
I had the manual recline stop working on my 14 ram 1500 big horn passenger seat. Im trying to get the plastic cover off the bottom of the seat. I see the butterfly clip to remove the lever but cant get that plastic housing off so i can get in there & see why it wont recline when you pull the lever. Do you know how it comes off & why it might not be reclining. I think the cable broke. Thanks for any info ! I love your videos & they have helped me out alot servicing my vehicles!!
One more thing. Sometime, do you think you could do one on getting the connection clips open on various places?
Can you guide me where I can take my 2014 T7C 3.6l for this rocker arm repair. The ticking is mild, it isn't a slapping sound yet. I am in Dallas, TX.. I want to take it somewhere that they are Chrysler knowledgeable.
I think I have to take the lower intake off too to get to my oil pressure sensor on my 2013 Ram 3.6L Pentastar. Do you have a video for that too?
Excellent video. Thank you.
Thanks for watching bud, please thumbs up the video and subscribe to the channel, thanks
Thank you!
Pain in the a$$ getting that clear.
Big help brother thank you!
Thanks for watching, please give the video a thumbs up and subscribe to the channel, thanks
