This is an amazing video! Thank you so much. I used this to fix a P0303 code. Ended up needing a fuel injector. So after watching this, I decided to pull the intake manifold. It’s my daughters car and I told her if it was a coil pack or bad plug, I’d fix it. It was the injector. After watching this I decided to dive in! I really left my comfort zone….beside the fuel injector, I replace all plugs, air cleaner, cabin filter and a new ESS battery. I did make a rookie mistake and broke the flange on the PCV valve trying to hook it back up. Lucky for me the PCV valve was in stock and only $40 at the dealer. Thanks for a great and detailed video!

This video has proven useful a couple times, since I've had two ignition coils fail within a couple months of each other on our 2017 Pacifica. Luckily, they were both on the rear cylinders (1 & 5), but now I'm planning to preemptively replace the other four, since both times they failed while my wife was on her way to work and caused a lot of inconvenience and stressed her out. I wonder if this is a common failure?
Side note: Chrysler wanted $104 for a coil, but I got them from O'Reilly Auto Parts for $37 each. And even though they came in a "Standard" brand box, the actual coils are genuine Mopar parts, and are exactly the same in every detail as the OEM coils, including the Chrysler Pentastar and "Made in Brazil" (just like my wife! lol)
Anyway, thank you so much for taking the time to post this! It's so hard to find videos like this that aren't for the older Pacifica crossover.

@@OnlineMechanicTips Maybe we just got unlucky, because last night a third pack failed. The first two were in the 70,000 mile range this one was around 90,000. This time it was #6, so I had to remove the intake manifold. Once again your video proved helpful. I saw this coming, so I already had four more coil packs and spark plugs on hand.
The entire job took me about 4 hours by myself as an amateur. The hardest part was finding one last bolt on the bottom right because it was hidden behind the two big electric plugs on the bottom right of the engine...kind of between the "V" the two plugs form.
And figuring out how to release and remove the various electric cables was a headache for me since I was not familiar with them and I was afraid of breaking them. But I got it done in the end and now all six of my packs have been replaced (and the spark plugs too of course).
I think it is a common failure on this vehicle. I also have the 2017 Pacifica and mine failed in that some order. #5 then #1 and now #3. All on the backside. But now I’m planning to remove the intake manifold and replace 2,4 and 6.
@@iROLL24 Yeah, from what I've seen online it's pretty common. My parents recently bought a 2017, so it's something I'm going to be watching for on their van.

Thanks for this video! I just got a used 2019 Pacifica with 60K on it. A shop i had inspected said i should replace the PCV valve soon, so i ordered one, but it looks different than the one in your other videos. Another shop said it would cost me $475 for a tune up and PCV valve change. This helps so much to see how to do it myself. Saves me a few hundred for more serious issues i anticipate will come down the road.

Great video. Now i dread doing my plugs. But will get all my parts and egr and gaskets and get it all dine at once. 136,000 miles. Argh. I miss my 1980s and older vehicles more and more
Thank you for the video. Local shop asking $1300 to do this. I'm going to attempt without manifold removal since that's risking gaskets and other issues. I'll update when I finished. Starting this because of the P018C code.
So you will replace only 3 plugs?
@@tonyc6331 I replaced ZERO plugs. Replacing the sensor and splicing in the new harness cleared the code.

Thanks for all your help so far please look at the pictures I just got this plan them off and I see all of this oil that concerns me I guess that’s the EGR? Also just my two cents removing the airbox completely in the battery sure makes his job a lot easier than navigate. Now let me see if I can figure out how to attach these pictures.

Bruh! Great video… But seriously, DIY this from how you made it look… Night & Day! Stubborn plastic parts that you have to basically break to get the hoses off and small details like that you didn’t mention made it way more complicated to even get to the 2, 4, & 6! Overall… Much appreciated. And request for the next videos… PLEASE mention how to better handle the stubborn parts that can case major hang ups to getting to the actual job, and other pro tips the DIY RUclipsr may need to know. Hello my friend, thanks for jumping on board. As for the O2 sensor on bank 2, its fairly simply once you gain access to it. I have yet to replace one on these new Minivans but it cant be that difficult.

I know you suggested Dielectric grease on the coil pack, but would you also suggest putting anti-seize on the threads of the new spark plugs?

Were you able to remove the plugs and coils from 1 3 and 5 without removing the long tube (purge?) that you have your hand around at 6:35 ?
Hey bud , thanks for this video! I have 2017 Pacifica and showing code P000D (Bank 2 Camshaft 2 Position Slow Response) I think VVT solenoid needs to be replaced. Do you know which one that could be? I think bank 2 is in the front right? But I think there is 2 of them on bank 2 (not sure) I wanna do it with my spark plugs because I think manifold neds to come out. I want to try just clean it , hope it will work ! Thanks

Are you using a basic Milwaukee 3/8" ratchet with a universal swivel adapter or is it a 1/4"? I have an extended 3/8" ratchet, but it's too big for this job. Should I go basic 3/8 or 1/4? New job, new tool. Those are the rules.
I just did this last night but didn’t totally remove plenum I just lifted it and did plugs. I saw u did intake gaskets is that required or just suggested. I got it all done and car ran fine hope I didn’t create another issue.

Just found this video. Great content! I've got two questions 1) do you twerk the manifold plenum? The Chilton manual provides values but I wasn't sure if anybody actually follows those. 2) i think i messed up the clips on 2 of my coil plugs. They connect and the car runs fine, but the pull off without locking into place. Is that a big problem? Thanks again!!

I was getting a misfire on cylinder 1, it turned out to be a bad coil pack. The car has almost 85,000 mi so I went ahead and did all six

Hey my friend, this engine in this Pacifica is side ways so cyl #6 on bank 2 which is the front head closest to the radiator. 6 will be on the end near the battery

No they not numbered as for as number marks on them. But yes, 1 3 and 5 at the rear and 2 4 and 6 under the plenium.

Yes I'm subscribed to the channel. I was asking about the parts you used as I'm 87000+ and looking to do the same on 2017 Pacifica engine. Plus I'm trying to figure out a vibration coming from the front end at acceleration speeds. I'm thinking Rear Engine and or Torque Strut Mount.
Replaced New tires, brakes, rotors and stabilizer links. Just replaced the vapor canister on the engine as it coded that issue

Hey bud, I think I was talking about the pressure sensor, the way its wires has changed. You now have to splice in a new connector. I was intended to upload that footage but now have misplaced it. Are you doing a tune up or the pressure sensor? Also are you subscribed to the channel?

the sensor has been redesign and made better. But you will need to splice in a new connector..I'm about to upload a video about it soon. And yes, you do not have to remove plenium to do it

Is it necessary to depreasurize the fuel system just to do the spark plugs alone?
I’m stuck at about 5 minutes. My intake isn’t loose on the driver’s side at all. I’ve been at it for hours. 😔
I had the same problem! I'm guessing you got it figured out since it's been almost a year, but in case anybody else has the problem, here's what it was for me:
There was one last bolt on the bottom right that took me a long time to find because it was hidden behind the two big electric plugs on the bottom right of the engine...kind of between the "V" the two plugs form. It's the bottom bolt on that black bracket on the right side of the engine.
The bracket is kind of "S" shaped, and has a threaded stud at the top (with a nut), a bolt in the middle, and a bolt at the bottom. I had to remove the two bolts, but it was not necessary to remove the nut on the top stud. When I removed the intake, the bracket was still attached to it. Removing the battery(s) will give you better access to that side of the engine.
I will tell you 5 out of 10 of these 3.6's need a new oil cooler, look for leaky coolant/oil under the valley as long as your down there pull off the lower intake and replace it, they are made of plastic when they should be aluminum👍
Yes, but everybody different my guy. I use only the oem Mopar coolers. IMO there better with the flow rate and proper specs. But to each there own.

Thanks! good info. Did you mean low pressure (pressure wash) the engine? Steam would be way to aggressive! And flashing the modules, 99.99 % of us owners can't do that without knowledge, special interface equipment, and above all, the software, like a dealer would have. Sounds like you have connections or work for a dealer?? Using all Mopar parts too, just a hunch.. wink wink..

He did not show how to change spark plug 2. There is a black bracket in the way.
Once the intake off, you can remove all the spark plugs bud.
he explicitly said use a swivel so you don't have to remove the bracket
I know what you mean about the bracket being in the way, but I just did this last night and was able to work around it. I used a small wrench coming from below to break the bolt for the coil pack loose. Once it's broken loose, you can turn it by hand. Once the pack was off, the bracket posed no problem in accessing the spark plug.
