My kids grew up with Chrysler Town and Country Mini-vans, and I own a 2022 Pacifica Pinnacle. He got his Pacific Limited without my help and loves it, Although his friends seem to be a bit perplexed until they want to go surfing, then they understand the attraction.
I found this video when I was researching the Pacifica. I actually just bought a Limited S Appearance with UConnect and with the Safety Sphere on Saturday. I love, love, love this mini van. I feel like a total dork saying that, but after car shopping for the past six months, I couldn’t find something that checked every box. My kids are older, so I almost could have bought anything. But car shopping since Covid is a nightmare. The dealerships have low inventory and are charging market adjustments up to 7k where I live on Hondas, Toyotas, and Kias. I found my Pacifica about 90 miles from where I live. They not only sold me the car 3k below MSRP, but they also delivered it to my house and gave me a great deal on my trade. It was the easiest car buying experience ever - no pressure and a great deal! I never thought I’d be so excited about a mini van, but it has every feature you could possibly want, it’s easy to drive and park, and it doesn’t need premium gas. I was driving a BMW that was a nuisance to maintain and didn’t have the versatility that this car has. Great video!

I liked the approach to this. It made me laugh. Chrysler has always had minivan practicality down pat. What they never got right was durability and dependability. My nephew and his wife are figuring that out now with theirs. Toyota and Honda never had all the practicality but they repaid it in spades with QC and reliability (most gens).
Absolutely love my Pacifica. I have more storage than most current extended cab pickups with their tiny beds. With a 3.6 L V6 I can tow my tear drop trailer for camping which my wife and I sleep in, while kids sleep in the van with the stow and go seating down and nobody in the family is sleeping in a tent on the ground. We can comfortably sleep 4 and get in and out of places RVs can't. My ONLY complaint is I wish they had just a little more ground clearance.
Great stuff. Best vehicle we have ever owned was a mini van, when our children were younger. Now that we are older, empty nesters and close to retirement my wife and I are looking to buy a new Toyota Sienna, maybe Chrysler. Nothing beats the comfort, practicality and space for road trips to visit the family.
You must be crazy to choose a Stellantis product over Toyota. Better yet, get a Honda if you actually like to drive. Can't put a price on piece of mind.
I’m still driving my 1999 Chrysler Town & Country van with 218,000 miles on it and have never replaced the engine or the transmission ( in fact, this has been the best vehicle I’ve ever owned). I’m currently looking for a used Chrysler Pacifica Limited; this will probably be my last vehicle.

Sliding door is what makes the minivan the king of people hauling. Any other mode of transport is compromise, and is rooted in larping about their supposed out doors lifestyle.
I bought mine in 2019 and have not been dissatisfied in any way. It looks a lot like this one's color and trim, one of the reasons that I bought it. Mine's not AWD, and doesn't have the entertainment package, but it does seats 4 adults comfortably, did get 34 MPG on my last trip, and mine has the towing package. With all the seats stowed, the storage compartment deck is 49 inches by 100, large enough for full sheets of plywood. AND, the 3rd row has its own moonroof. The only downsides that I have found are that they can be expensive to repair, they don't come with a full-size spare, or any spare if you opt for that vacuum.
Cool looking mini van. Only problem is the price point. For that much coin I’ll get something else or something less expensive. Don’t get me wrong, I love the practicality of a van (I’ve held onto a VW eurovan since new in 2003 and it has come in handy numerous times). Unfortunately, IMHO it is difficult to justify north of $50k for a mini van. Cheers-
Chrysler has great minivans. They are piratical as hell! You normally would think it’s for mom but there’s plenty of men who drive minivans. Chrysler needs to continue making them. I liked the dodge grand caravan but it’s gone I always thought the Chrysler town and country was for mom and the dodge grand caravan was for dad. They are amazing for travel.
I used to sell cars for Chrysler back when they were partnered with Mercedes and most couples would reveal that the husband always wanted to drive the minivan over whatever was supposed to be his daily driver. Some families would just get two vans because the Stow N Go made them a good replacement for their pickup truck.
Why does consumer reports have Chrysler Pacifica as worst vehicle? I had Dodge caravan for over 14 years longest I have ever owned a vehicle, still runs great just regular maintenance and over 200,000 and still runs fine but she is getting old need to look at a newer vehicle for travelling.
Minivans are probably the only real class of vehicles that get the best innovations. The fact that you can plug in the microwave into a pure sine wave inverter on the new sienna with its built in fridge and its high mpg makes for an awesome road trip car. Meanwhile, all these dumb SUVs are competing in plastic cladding to look tough and sacrifice efficiency. Buy Minivans for your families, people. They're clever, more efficient and just as safe as a station wagon on stilts.
@@ALMX5DP i think its a 1500w inverter. It has no problem coping since its a hybrid. I just happened to watch one of these auto reviewers demo it and thought it was cool.

We've been looking at these but the quality/reliability issues are just too frequent for me. My wifes car just got totaled and got one of these as a rental while we're out a car and deciding what to get next... needless to say after we picked this up at enterprise and our minds were made up on what we'll be getting next by the time we made it home!
If a person is worried about what people think if you buy a mini van they need to get a life. My wife and I love to travel. We have had two mini vans and there is nothing better to travel in. Room, comfort, better gas mileage than a SUV unless you get a very small SUV. Pull up your big boy pants and quit worrying about other people and get what y ou will really enjoy.
Clever sarcasm 🙄 A few million soccer moms can't be wrong, the Pacifica is very popular. I don't like minivans but I have nothing against that one. Cheers from Utah
If people realized how awesome minivans are, most people would have them. I have a Town & Country; it’s my third minivan. I put sheets of MDF, plywood, sheet rock, …slide them in the back and close all the doors.. Loader buckets, motorcycles, all kinds of sh*t. I have an air mattress and camping gear and I can live in it. (Except for the fact that I have a German Shepherd and an American Akita that don’t get along). And I don’t care what anybody thinks. @@brettsuydam7457 80% towing capacity rule? I've heard similar applied to very large and heavy trailers, but not anything that is really single axle or small in nature. I dont have any doubts pulling at the limit for this would be any real struggle.
Just got rid of my 2021 Toyota Tacoma and bought a 2023 Chrysler Pacifica and we absolutely love it. However I was smart enough to get a 6 year 100,000 mile warranty whichever comes first because after all it's a Chrysler better known as Fiat.
Does that warranty only come with a new purchase?
Get the extended warranty through a credit union not the dealer its cheaper
Why you didn't buy the honda odyssey?
I have already second Pacifica ,moved from Sienna , and love it !!!! special AWD!!!! but never get 25MG 23-24 max and 18 in city. Its great minivan special if you have a family, I use mine for everyday driving, and like it more than my Lexus.
So you've had Sienna. Is the Chrysler reliable vs Sienna? Im concerned about long term reliability but am interested in getting the Pacifica
@@starwarsphan3159I do lease the car, for 3 years you will enjoy, I think Pacifica will last about up to 100k miles no problem, after need to be be go, the biggest problem is transmission, will not last more than 100k, maybe less, otherwise Pacifica is way better interior than plastic Toyota, specially if you get limited or pinnacle models
@@vasleygreen1346 ok i figured that was going to be the case. So its a good buy for relatively short term i.e.100k miles. Thanks!
i just picked up the 2023 chrysler pacifica awd limited with entertainment package all for 52k in nj. Great vehicle
How’s the transmission on this after all the years?
I like minivans a lot! Never back to SUV :) SUV is big outside and small inside.
I agree.
Yeah the big SUVs never seem practical vs the mid size 4runners or anything Subaru
I have this identical van, we love it, its an unreal vehicle.
Only complaints are
-blueray plaer doesnt work most if the time and is super glitchy when it does
-had a couple weird suspension noises front and rear fixed by replacing bushings under warranty
-warped rotors after less than 40k (maybe I just brake way too hard)
Been driving minivans since 1998 - absolutely love them... btw there's nothing mini with my Odyssey
There is no spare tire. Compressor with fix a flat. Didn’t work for me. Left us stranded in the middle of nowhere. No spare tire is idiocy.
How reliable are they
Dude, everything you said is exactly I was thinking. I am seriously thinking of switching from my aging full size bad ass Range Rover to a Pacifica. I could buy 3 for what the Rover cost me. And hockey season is coming so will be logging miles with kids and equipment. So it is glad that others see the value and utility also. Swallowing pride hopefully will taste good.
Minivans are the best vehicles
Went to Florida a few months ago and rented one it was a hybrid and it was awesome road like a Cadillac instint air conditioning it blew me away
The only downsides that I have found are that they can be expensive to repair, they don't come with a full-size spare, or any spare if you opt for that vacuum.
are they reliable?
Hit or miss has been their track record.
Nice twist and entertaining. Happy 2023!
Happy New Year! Love this video!
Cheers-
The gear dial is too close to the volume though
Minivans are better than cargo vans for work
I'm a former car dealer. I've had several luxury and muscle cars. I never thought I'd love my new minivan!!! Mine is the same color too!!!
Tim, you want to send this to my Wife who refuses to believe the Minivan is far better than a SUV. I gave up arguing. 😂
Pickup plus Minivan talk. Alright alright. Good video.
I understand that the Pacifica has a reputation for needing frequent repairs shortly after the warranty expires... Is that true?
I used to sell cars for Chrysler back when they were partnered with Mercedes and most couples would reveal that the husband always wanted to drive the minivan over whatever was supposed to be his daily driver. Some families would just get two vans because the Stow N Go made them a good replacement for their pickup truck.
Men like practicality!
Best review ive seen in a while 😅👍
Why does consumer reports have Chrysler Pacifica as worst vehicle? I had Dodge caravan for over 14 years longest I have ever owned a vehicle, still runs great just regular maintenance and over 200,000 and still runs fine but she is getting old need to look at a newer vehicle for travelling.
I think the old Dodge caravan from 2015-2019 is bulletproof less features and they can run forever with the right maintenance 👍
They don't have it listed as the worst, just not as reliable as a few others
That's the one that got me! Traded my Rebel in made 10G and put it down on it
Minivans are probably the only real class of vehicles that get the best innovations.
Can you really run a microwave off the rear power outlet? How many watts is it able to support?
@@ALMX5DP i think its a 1500w inverter. It has no problem coping since its a hybrid. I just happened to watch one of these auto reviewers demo it and thought it was cool.
@@CACressida dang I had no idea, gotta be one of the most powerful outside Ford’s F-150’s. Would be very handy to have that kind of power available.
Minivans:
The most practical vehicle nobody wants
Loved this video. Great job.
I needed a mini van for family trip found a pacifica on turo rented and man what fun car to drive
The stow and go wells are perfect for adult beverages for the rear passengers 😉
Personally I prefer wagons which ironically have won out in the end. All CUVs are nothing more than a slightly taller and stubbier station wagon. 😂
I do kinda miss the station wagons. grew up eith the volvo 240s. Those were lovely little thanks. Great im Costco runs. Only europe seems to still celebrate the station wagon
We've been looking at these but the quality/reliability issues are just too frequent for me. For those looking, they'll never tell you but the stow and go 2nd row seats are significantly less padded to fit into the well they fold into. If you USE the 2nd row seats regularly you might want the non disappearing versions. FWIW
Did it have AWD
Tim, It’s meant to be. Thank you!
For me it's a dream to own that car!
He is funny and convincing on how convenient this many van is.
I have loved my 2018 Pacifica....but, just found out they have an engine failure at about 77,000 miles. Beware. Look it up. Looks like it is also affecting 2019 and don't know how far up the chain it goes.
I had 4 - No More Chryslers.. They just don't last and since Stellantis , Way over priced...
I love mini vans... I DGAF.. They're comfortable, ride nice, perfect height! The Pacifica is cool but I still like the Dodge Caravan better. Getting rid of the legendary Caravan was just dumb
Greating sales tactic video. If i was a car salesman this would be me approach to customers on the fence.
Honestly, I was just having fun.
This video cracked me up. Thank you
This video took me off guard!!! Great and truly funny😅😂😂😂😂
Nice van for sure, only problem is that its 70k+ here in Canada!
Yikes!
Wait.... I think the Pacificas are assembled in Canada, arent they????
Probably the most practical vehicle for most people but not cool to be seen in.
Great video, but what about the PHEV version???
What about the PHEV version?
@@Pickuptrucktalk I heard it is like the 4xe...
@@commonsenseguy8189 Similar tech, so sure. I don’t recall if I’ve ever driven it.
@@Pickuptrucktalk Ok, Hey when will you have a in depth review of the Ram 1500 EV? January sometime?
@@commonsenseguy8189 You will definitely want to tune in on Thursday.
Maybe manufacturers could make a minivan with suv ground clearance and then they’d sell more lol
Clever sarcasm 🙄 A few million soccer moms can't be wrong, the Pacifica is very popular. I don't like minivans but I have nothing against that one. Cheers from Utah
Refeshing approach to a car review - great job!
It rides nice, handles good and has plenty of power..
And it has the same footprint as a sedan.
It’s over expensive
Lol...yeah really nice van for a big family...yeah I would consider if I had a big family but don't..I love my toyota tacoma trd off road 2023 and my daughter....great video Tim...happy new year...be safe and well
Like vans but wouldn't own for nothing though used to see them all time everywhere before SUV market took over this Pacifica is nice for a van usually vans look bland one time the Pacifica was a SUV years ago than came back alive became a minivan.
Put a lift kit on it and some KC lights and take the kids to practice in style
I have no kids and own a mini van. No one can tell me how it's not 2x better than any pickup truck
I'd like for u to compare it next to a kia carnival
Fun approach to a video. You only missed one thing: "Get off my lawn!"
Happy New Year, Tim!
Well for 57,000 bucks you would expect a lot of creature comforts. Happy New Year and here’s to a prosperous and healthy 2023!
Uber bidin that's really not the case anymore.
