Did Cecil cover that already? I have the distinct memory of a GBF episode with a barbarian individual on a hang glider, can't remember the episode name though sadly. Maybe it was one of those films with a ton of alternate titles?
@@Slysheen Was the hang glider ALSO the corpse of a pterodactyl? Because you WOULD have remembered, believe me. EDIT: just checked, he hasn’t done an actual video on the movie yet. Maybe it was clipped in.

Holy hell! I saw this as a really little kid on cable and could only remember a guy dressed as a barbarian fighting a giant spider on some temple steps. For years, it has been that movie for me that you have feverdream memories of but don’t know the name. Thank you very much for closing out this lifetime mystery for me!
Oh wow!! This is one of my FAVORITE bad flicks! Once I started staying up late by myself in middle school, this was just about the first cheese fest I watched. I loved the sword & sorcery/Conan knock-off movies, but even my middle school excitement couldn't fool me into thinking this was a good flick. It was such an absolute stinker, but what a fun stinker it was! Thanks for exhuming, er, spotlighting such an important movie for me!
I just got out of school, made myself some good lunch and as I'm about to browse RUclips for something to watch, this videos pups up front and center, it's gonna be a good ass lunch 👍
Another wonderful entry. Well done! I don't think I can ever properly express how much your show/channel means to me. Everything is good in the world, even if only for a little bit, when you put out new content.
I hope you review more Conan Knockoffs like this. So many Sword & Sorcery movies of the time like Deathstalker, Conquest, Beastmaster and Warrior and the Sorceress were hilariously enjoyable.
Wes Anderson would say the Richie/Margot relationship was inspired by the Melville-directed and Cocteau-penned Les enfant terribles. Nope, it came from Ator the Fighting Eagle.
Thanks Cecil for another hilarious episode. I've always enjoyed Ator as the silly film it is, though the whole spider cult gives it a creepy vibe. I don't know how the actor who played Dakkar managed to find the courage to work with all those spiders.
"Until finally Ator slashes the beast and it spills Root Beer everywhere" LOL great line. Great review as always Cecil, I loved the sequel to this that was shown as Cave Dwellers on MST3K so it's nice to see the first movie is pretty much the same low budget bad movie but man what fun. Thanks Cecil!
I found out there's actually 4 Ator movies. A whole goddamn franchise. Some of them got released under 2 or 3 different titles, but there's: 1. "Ator the Fighting Eagle", aka "Ator the Invincible" 2. "Ator 2: the Invincible Orion", aka "The Blade Master", aka "Cave Dwellers" 3. "The Iron Warrior" 4. "Ator III [sic]: The Hobgoblin", aka "Hobgoblin", aka "Quest For the Mighty Sword"
Here we go!! Can’t believe it’s taken you this long, Cecil! A while back I asked you if you’d seen Lost Empire and would you consider making a GBF episode in honour of its splendour. You said ‘yes and yes’, remember? Am I coming over as needy?
Can't go wrong with D'amato!!! Btw the spider king was Dakkar (his real name), the dude named Lucas from Fulci's Zombie. He was a musician and pro wrestler as well. He passed away in 2007.
They definitely should do some kind of collaboration. I don't think there's other RUclips channel content I look forward to as much as this and Brandon.
Lol just reaquired Beastmaster the tv show...after watching some Jack of all Trades it seemed only fitting. Gotta track this down too, looks like silly fun.
Ator, Ator, Ator I saw a pussy cat. Nope it was a spider. I mentioned it in another video but it's great to see you back Cecil. I hope you are keeping well. Thank you for the videos.
(7:26) In high school in the mid-80s, it was "boola boola" in the punishment choice joke. 😉 That was in Michigan. I'm fascinated by how things passed on by word of mouth pre-Internet. Thanks for the video! I needed a good laugh today! 😃
LOVE the Futurama reference, in this one! Death by Snu Snu!! LMAO!! Also, what was that footage of the old guy saying "my name is John Dakir"?? Where'd you get that from???
Hey Cecil. Do you think you could do a review or exploring of the film Deep Blood sometime? It’s another film by Joe D’ Amato and it would be nice to know more about it(also I think you would find it entertaining. It’s not good but it’s fun)👍🏻
That was a good movie. I really enjoyed Ray Liota as an action star, wish we would've seen more of that. One thing I LOVED about that movie was the first few minutes, where the camera is over the three officers saluting. It was shot so perfectly that before the soldiers marching in I honestly thought it was just CG or a real good mate painting. ...Then the March, looks real good, and suddenly, odd one out and ...BAM!... For some reason I totally love everything from that (camera) shot/intro.
How awesome would an Ator/Deathstalker cross-over be? Not very is the answer. But it would be a little awesome. Ah, but WHICH Deathstalker? Amoral mercenary barbarian with oiled muscles Deathstalker, or smarmy charming rogue Deathstalker? That is the question.
This lovely slice of mostly family friendly action/fantasy was on ye old premium television and i remember my younger self enjoying it. Conan has inspired a lot of so bad it's good movies and television series, this one is low tier, but is watchable for it's silliness. It's fun to check out G and PG rated films by directors known for sleaze and or violence (D'Amato, Peter Jackson, George Miller, etc).
Man, nothing beats the badass art work of 80’s movie posters.
Probably thats where most of the budget went they really were that awesome😅
@@eval_is_evil and also most of the original script, a lot of the movie happens in the poster but never onscreen
All influenced by Frank Frazetta paintings. 60’s/70’s Italian horror posters are works of art too.
@@HeyYou992 Nobody could paint like Frazetta. He was the original, the genius and the best at it.

I like how the poster has a sabre tooth tiger as Ators companion, yet the movie just gave him a bear cub.
This channel is comfort food. You MUST check out “Yor: Hunter From The Future”. The hanggliding scene alone should have won it Oscars.
hahahahahahhahhaah Yor!!!!! holy shit, yes! he should look into that one.

it's what you get when your barbarian player maxes up charisma: Not a good fighter but all the ladies want him!
Ator: I'm well-prepared, I can assure you.
I-Dont-Use-Names: What, are you going to use your mighty sword?
Ator: No, that's a different Ator movie.
"Invasion USA" turned 35 last year, it's now about to turn 36, you kind of missed out on that one Cecil.

Wes Anderson would say the Richie/Margot relationship was inspired by the Melville-directed and Cocteau-penned Les enfant terribles. Nope, it came from Ator the Fighting Eagle.
Sometimes I wish Wes Anderson would just admit that his films have more to do with D'amato and Mattei than he would like us to believe.
Thanks Cecil for another hilarious episode. I've always enjoyed Ator as the silly film it is, though the whole spider cult gives it a creepy vibe. I don't know how the actor who played Dakkar managed to find the courage to work with all those spiders.
