My favorite police album is "Ghost in the Machine". This is followed by "Synchronicity".
I slept on the street for four days in Hartford CT to get tickets in 1983....I was 19 years old at the time....time before the internet. I got 2nd row on the floor! At one point everyone rushed the stage....I moved....I was against the stage under Sting in the audience....made eye contact with him and his sweat was dripping on me....despite that it was a great show. :-)
I got tickets on the 1st row on the side of the stage. They always did two shows in CT.....this was the 2nd show.. I made a banner that said "CONNECTICUT (heart) and the band logo at a tilt "THE POLICE". Stuart Copeland tapped Sting on the shoulder when leaving the stage to bring it to his attention.....Sting came over and gave it a tug, smiling up at us.. Andy gave a smile and thumbs up and Stuart came over and signed it. This was the GITM tour.
The funny thing is I used a sheet for that banner and Magic markrrs....on my bedroom floor and it bled through on my wood floor... I caught he'll for it. I still live there and that banner bleed through is still on that floor!!!

The keyboard is called the “Synclavier” , Sting used it a lot over the years especially on Dream of the Blue Turtles.

To be fair, Sting is a genius and all three of them are extraordinary artists, so this is a pretty high standard to hold all other music up to.

It’s sad that popular music isn’t like this anymore, true, and outrageous that people prevent it from being so, BUT…
… bear in mind that this is POPULAR music we’re griping about. Real skills and musical power are still very much undiminished in a whole world of kinds of music outside of the popular industry crap.
Here your chance to spread your wings, and get your ears all over the incredible universe of Jazz music in all its infinite forms, composed (“Classical”) art music, world music, and more.
The great players and real music is still being made. You just gotta leave the comfy confines of the popular stuff, and bring your grown-up ears. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

The LP cover was cool in that the B&W photos were printed in a long strip and different LP's had different sections of the B&W photos. The 3 color strips were also moved/changed for different pressings.
I saw them on tour that year - incredible outdoor show in 90+ degree weather w/no shade in the stadium. Even Sting (in his black leather pants) said - You folks really like it hot around here!. Still danced our a**'s off.

I worked in a record store when this came out. With the first pressing, every store got one copy that wasn't done in red/yellow/blue, but rather in gold/silver/bronze. The customers never got to see it though, because I bought our store's copy, as I'm sure happened everywhere.

per the album cover... the first picture of the Stewart section shows him standing in front of a grandfather clock. So appropriate since he is the band's timekeeper. There was a special edition released in 1983 without the color splashes, just the black and white photo strips. On the back of the album in Andy's section, there is a picture of Andy and his japanese lady baring her breasts. Such a different time.

😊 My favorite place to see The Police was Shea Stadium! Something about the sound ricocheting thru the air that made 🥁 Stew sound so freaking crisp! 🐰

The psychiatrist and psychoanalyst Carl Gustav Jung #CGJung defined synchronicity (ancient Greek σύν syn, German 'with, together' and χρόνος chronos 'time') as temporally correlated events that are not linked by a causal relationship (i.e. are acausal), but are perceived and interpreted as connected and related to each other

One of the great songs and we will never hear anything like it again. Today, it is all over-processed, auto-tuned, computer "music" crap. There are no more artists. No more real music is being made.

Hey, we’re still making it out here. The audience just needs to get their heads out of their asses.
When they do, those of us who actually play will be waiting.

@@ikshields It's unfortunate that true artists (sounds like that's you) don't get the airplay or recognition. Today, you have to be a name and no matter how awful you are, radio will lap it up like dogs.
