- When your PS5 Controller starts having this problem.. Here's how to fix it! If your Playstation 5 contoller buttons start sticking, this is what to do. When PS5 controller buttons get stuck, it's easy to fix! Just follow these tips & tricks so your PS5 controller buttons don't stick.. First, I recommend using an air duster to remove any dust from the controller button. Clean the DualSense buttons & use a circular motion to stop the button from sticking to the controller. If you do this correctly, it will fix your controller!

The EASIEST way to clean it is to get a soft toothbrush, wet the toothbrush with alcohol, turn the the controller upside down, brush the buttons while its still upside down then dry the buttons off.

I’m pretty sure PS4 controllers don’t have the rubber underneath the buttons so you could fry it with the alcohol

Taking apart the controller is easy. Lots of great videos. I just fixed one of mine had to take it apart almost completely to get to the ribbons
I haven't tried the ps5 controllers but I got clumsy hands and broke a ribbon on a ps4 controller (I know that's an easy fix for only a couple bucks but it still sucked lol).

It's probably because more ads can be put into longer videos, which means more money, and already famous channels get more opportunity right off the bat. RUclips tries to keep small channels small to avoid more potential channels, which means more competition and the chance of losing viewers to other channels that are not as big unless a viewer really tries hard to share the video to many others to spread the video around. 😢

Omg you’re a lifesaver!! I accidentally got chocolate on my triangle button and knowing that there’s a rubber pad inside was a huge relief. Didn’t even bother with a qtip. I just sprayed alcohol on it and it’s totally fixed 😂🙏🏼

What can you recommend about the “most common” problem (even with the brand new controller that came off the box), which is the right analog stick drifting at the day of use? Does anybody else have this problem? Is it a “defective” one or a common problem that Sony failed to address and fix?

Great tips! I usually use some denatured ethyl alcohol when dealing with stuff like this. But I have a different issue with the controller. I noticed the R2 button does an almost imperceptible creaking noise when you press it with the resistance turned off. If I blow in it for a bit, it doesn't do it anymore for some time, then it does it again. It doesn't affect the trigger in any way, but I'd like to know what may be causing the issue, as I think my Xbox One controller also had a similar problem.
That problem is most likely the spoon almost breaking. And if it breaks, you will have to change it manually, or learn how to play with a loose R2. It's a cheap and easy fix either way, so I would always recommend fixing it
@@RogerCold009 after a bit of cleaning with a duster in the crevice it doesn't do it as much. Weird though, I don't think I went to hard on it.
@@RogerCold009 Mine's creaking too but I noticed it's the plastic case of the controller. If I hold strongly enough the right side, it does not creak anymore... but it still sucks 😅
I had the same problem and it only got worse over moths so I sent my controller to Sony for warranty fix/replacement haven't got it back yet

Does the options button have a rubber pad under it like the game pad action buttons? Do you think this method would still be safe on the other buttons on the controller? Specifically the options.
What external hard drive ,do you use for your ps5?
You can get tiny little brushes with cleaning kits and the bristles will slip inside the edges of the buttons. Works a treat.

I just got a fresh replacement controller after sending in my orignial due to drift (luckily I still had warranty) and the X button on the new one feels very mushy right out of the box. All the other buttons feel "button-y" and give decent feedback when pressed aside from X. Should I try this first or should I not risk anything and simply contact Sony again and say the controller doesn't feel right ?

I Haven't played my PS5 Since FF16 came out & my controller got sticky somehow like soda was spilled on it but all it did was collect dust.
I did exactly what to do in this video & it's back to normal now, thank you for this!
I didn't think to use compressed air & it helped a lot! using iso and cloth just wasn't enough, but the air in combo did it for me.

Hey John I don't know if this is good or bad idea was hoping you could tell me I hooked 2 Xbox 360 fans to a USB cord and is planning on using it to keep my PlayStation 4 cool LOL. My R2 keep pressing on its own and I have been spraying and praying like crazy in shorter game for a week now, this made tactical shooters and fighting game even watching Netflix impossible for me and it’s frustrating because I only have my PS5 for 3 months it’s practically brand new and the problem with the R2 on my controller was driving me crazy,

I just fixed yesterday, thin peace of paper put throu inside and go around, dirt usual is between button and plastic, when You clean with something very thin like hard paper can help. My button after pressing just stick and come back after second, after cleaning work as new. Just cleaning gap between button can really help.

I'm using a PS5 controller on the ps4, it's been working perfectly fine for months now, today all of my games are now moving and turning the camera by itself, I thought It was the controller so I had to go buy another one, I used the new one and it's still doing the same thing, does this have to do with the ps5 controller itself? Or the cables im using to play it? Or the console itself?
From my experience the rubber pads wear out more often then they should. And I think its crazy that you think a hard reset has anything to do with actual hardware like buttons sticking/being mushy. 😂

That happened on my Ps5 controller within the first month and I've been playing like that since. It happens with the circle botton and I play a lot of souls borne games, so you can imagine it's pretty annoying at times lol
Mine was the exact same within the first month the circle button was sticking, I just cut a straw in half and put it into the grove of the circle button and rotated it around, haven’t had a problem since

Thanx man,I appreciate the info.When this was first going on I actually just got my controller back from Sony for having a right trigger issue I had to fix.The right trigger tension gave out and it cost me 30 something dollars to send it to Sony.They wouldn't pay for shipping,but repaired it for free.I believe they just sent me a whole new controller,but not 100% sure if it is the original controller or not,but that is what it seems.

Do you have a fix for when the triggers rattle when they’re being used adaptively?
I once cleaned my computer's touch screen with some water before finding out it was rubbing alcohol. Apparently, it dissolves the electrostatic layer of the touchscreen, so now I can't use my fingers on it anymore.
Is isopropyl alcohol safe on electronics?

I have already had to replace two because of stick drift. This last one I got seems to be a lot better.
I had to replace two for stick drift and then another one because it wouldn’t charge. Bought several different wires and figured out it was the charger port that had something wrong with it.
