Hey I'm 2 years late to this video so idk if you'll respond 😂 but how do you show multiple automation tracks at the same time like you did on the drum track at 10:25 ?
Hey Josh, is there a downside of using automation with the Utility gain plugin instead of applying it on the direct volume fader? I find useful applying automation on the gain plugin so if I ever need to rebalance I just pull the volume up or down on the faders. I'm just wondering if there's a specific reason of why you use automation straight onto the fader, or if it doesn't matter at all. Thanks! I'm the guy who you replied to on your latest instagram post btw :P
Nope! They do the same thing except that the gain is pre-sends and pre-pan. So if you use it on a channel with sends you’ll be affecting the send amount as well.
Just curious: do you put crossfades at the beginning and ending of EVERY audio region, even if it has the tiniest possible click/pop that you can't hear?
Yes. It's just good habits for editing. Heads and Tails editing. You can select multiple regions and add batch fades in the region inspector which makes it pretty quick.
Has there ever been cases where a person has mixed and mastered a song and then when they go to listen their final mix in the form of a topic or stereo speaker, they happen to hear a loud pop in the middle?
I've heard pops and clicks in mixes that had bad editing. It's not just zero crossing pops/clicks either. It's about fading in and out any background noise and noise floor in the recording as well. I've actually heard it more in film and video work than in music. Someone's dialog comes in and like 50ms before they start speaking, you hear a sudden 'burst' of background noise.
I just got the new version of Logic pro 10.4.4 but i can see is not any more a way to direct edit audio with an external program, I use to do that with wavelab. Perhaps they put that in another position. Can you tell me if is possible to do that still now with this version?? Thanks
nice man, your attention to detail is admirable
I liked the little chuckle while explaining the dangers of creating feedback loops. Also really cool to see you nerd out and get creative. Thanks!
Fantastic as always, Josh. Thank you!
Absolutely awesome. Thank you.

Purely amazing!!! Badly waiting for Master video!!! Love from India!!!
Holy Automations, Batman!!
Excellent tutorial
Really cool, nice vocals too!
You definitely should release this - sung by yourself. Your voice fits much better in my opinion!
Step FX came out in Logic version 10.4

Pretty good for a 'guitar guy'! I can see this in television!
A "guitar guy" with a master's degree in music.

I’m drowning in sauce
The art of songwriting is apparently dead.
