I like Sellen but sadly her fate going beyond was a tragedy.
Atleast we can do to respect her loss is always remember her as wer cast the spells she taught us.
It is for this reason that shard spiral never leaves my spell slots.

Tragedy? She was a mass murderer who finally got her comeuppance when she tried to tap into the primeval current. She was taking sorcerers from the Academy and turning them into graven masses. She's the one who was taking people and rolling them into Katamari Damacy balls!
The Graven Witch is like the Iron Fist: Her fate, is of her own choice, and it's a depressing honor to help her along that path.
No, her fate is NOT of her own choice. Alexander’s fate was that he wanted to have a final battle with his friend, to see who was truly the best warrior, knowing it would end in his death. Sellen thought she had won and would be able to bring Azur and Lusat back to the academy, but she was beaten by Rennala. She did not choose to turn into a face ball.
@@pipi-fc5lb I never got the idea Rennala beat Sellen, and the ball is the end result. Rennala is totally out of it, to the point she's barely aware of what's even going on around her. And Sellen may have realized that, and took pity: Notice, how Rennala just gets shoved off to a corner when Sellen's in the room. And Sellen only becomes a graven mass *after* we get both primeval sorcerer bodies. This WAS her plan, to use the collective power of herself, the witch hunter, and the primeval sorcerers to grasp the primeval current.
And, in a way, she succeeded. Notice, that unlike the other graven masses, she's able to speak, identify us, and can even still teach us spells. She's broken, yes, but Sellen is still there, to some degree. I think it's a matter of power, one that she simply lacked at the moment.

The music and animation gives so much nostalgia for me and canonically, for me, I kinda like that as the tarnished explores more of the lands between the glowing grace we see is how others see us. Bright and warm just like the sun😁

I’m still depressed about the ending of her quest line.
I never bother to finish her quest line. I never look for Lusat, get the dagger as a reward from Sellen and just leave her with Rennala to chill in the academy library. I like to pretend that way, in the age of stars ending with Ranni, Sellen might be able to find some other way to help humanity ascend to a higher state of being. A way that doesn’t involve attempting to imitate the stars by fusing other sorcerers into freaky giant face spheres. Still not sure if I understand her logic there. Lore just described the graven schools as an attempt at turning sorcerers into “the seeds of stars.” Like with most cosmic horror stories, I don’t get it and that’s probably a good thing.
Don't feel bad, she was a mass murderer who got what was coming.

Casual reminder that Sorceress Sellen has canonically killed countless other Sorcerers in the pursuit of knowledge, and that once she transfers bodies with an innocent witch (captured by Seluvis in his puppet dungeon), she comments on her new body's spryness, without a care in the world of the spirit that once lived within it.
So yeah, a very wholesome comic, but never forget that you essentially have a Yandere Mass-murderer Sorceress as your "Master". :^)
And yet she's still cool compared to most of the rest
you play as tarnished who kills anything in their path, and canon wise has to kill many gods and just wild animals to progress. Does it seem like I care?

I really enjoy these peaceful wholesome moments. Would've loved the contrast in Bloodborne, as it displays bleakness and horrific despair stronger than the other games in my opinion.

The best compliment I've ever been given was when someone said I was "like the sun" and they called me their "bright light". I would see them and they would say "hey bright light". I'll never forget that.

i admit im not in a mage build so i refuse to progress Sellen's questline to a certain point. same with Millicent. the only death i'll accept is alexander so he can have an honourable end that isn't just straight up tragic

It genuinely hurt turning on her at the end of the quest line during my first playthrough, I was roleplaying a Carian Knight so I had to side with Jerren, but... Fuck... I gave her every spell teaching thingy, helped her find the lost sorceries, she was my teacher and friend...
Finding out what happens if she wins later on the internet... Made me feel better, if only a bit.
My lovely master tries to know something that is physically unknowable.

There's a looot of people in the comments simping over a mass murderer. Sellen killed dozens, maybe triple digits of mages in her quest to restore the primeval current. She was making those balls of sorcerers that you run into as enemies from time to time. Homegirl was being hunted for a damn good reason.

That's why it really hurts me that they cut the part where she takes Mogh's blood from you and directly curses him to "not mess with her beloved apprentice", that's why I never finished her mission, because I know what awaits her if she continues.

Actually makes you think. We have Star sorcieries as default, moon sorceries, gravity sorceries, even night/void sorceries.
Why don't we have sorceries based on the biggest celestial body (from our perspective), the Sun? Yes, I know it's a star, and thus shouldn't be any different from regular star/glintstone, but this is also a setting where the moon may or may not be a cosmic entity, so just roll with it.
