Thought I’d make a little quick video for the occasion! The opportunity was there and I REALLY wanted to have Melina and the Tarnished on their own.
But believe me, Malenia and Ranni won’t be spared from his shenanigans. Think of this as… preparation for that, hehehe!

@@Epsonea_482 I spent 40 minutes trying to do to it with medium load before switching over to light load, then it only took another 20 Minutes to finish.

Honestly, I only died like 10 times my first try which makes me very proud of myself hearing how difficult it was for other people
Man, these wholesome moments with Tarnished and Melina makes me wish she had more of an impact/role in the game. Missed opportunity for From to try something new with Elden Ring. It couldve been something simple like random comments on locations visited or her doing random gestures while you sat at grace points together to make it feel like she actually traveled with you.
Even her just sitting by you would have been enough, or even giving some information on the area you were in
Like just outside a major boss room, she’ll give you some tips or info for them. That’d be neat

Definitely. I pretty much forgot about Melina for most of the game until after I beat Morgott.

@@mrman9977 Well given that she's gonna burn herself to death eventually it makes sense, not that I didn't wish she had more of a presence though as she really felt like a nothing character and I didn't really care when Shabriri tried to guilt trip me as a result, but I mean I could definitely see her as doing it intentionally for that reason.
@@EnergyBurst2 I did like her, but considering she served as a cover figure in trailers and images her role was disappointing. Though I too was glad that such was the case when I met Shabriri. Can't guilt trip me about killing an NPC that I honestly forgot about after a while. I have a hard time understanding why she didn't appear every time you rest. You might be on to something, that could very well be the reason, even when speaking to us she does it at an arms length.
@@mrman9977 If we really want to go down the train of thought for it its very well possible she is aware of what happened with Vyke and that was what informed her/ inspired her to be a distant companion that way we would be much less likely to fall to the words of Shabriri should we meet him somewhere on the mountain top or along the way to it thus her lack of presence on the journey and our more or less purely transactional relationship with her.
As revenge, Melina asks Malenia to craft Miquella's needle and stab it where the grace of gold shall not reach.

A small trick: you can reach 3 fingers and Hyetta and ignore them. Have an ending you want and then take the 3 fingers. Hyetta will give you the mad seal anyway.
I dunno Melina, I'd still be incredibly sus here especially since the tarnished knew the route, everything it entailed, and what it looked like from start to finish. If he didn't check that out how'd they know all that?

What kills me is the fact that, that's pretty much how my first playtrough went.
I was searching for Mogh, using the wiki cause I hadn't seen him at all in-game and was already facing Hoarax Loux that I thought was the final boss. So I tought that I had not seen a lot of game content and wanted to at least see the discord mod with the best OST in Elden Ring before finishing the game.
I Stumbled accross that door that I couldn't open and as any player would have, I couldn't accept the idea to not discover what was behind it.
So I look on the internet, and see that I just gotta go without armor, so I do.
I later found out that I had basically ruined the Elden Lord ending by doing that lmao, sorry Melina, sometimes curiosity can be your cross as a wise man said

I actually like getting burned by the 3 fingers in most playthroughs. Not because of the ending, mind you, but because the scars look great with my Champion Pauldron fashions. I always purge the Frenzied Flame before the ending. Pair the burn scars with the dragon eyes and I look awesome as hell! I usually wear the Hooded Banished Knight’s Helm to emphasize my eyes. It also pairs well with the Champion Pauldron.

... yeah... Melina... i... barely remember when you ever actually... visit me. Hell, my first playthrough was suffering because I wasnt resting at the RIGHT grace to get you to arrive and unlock runes for me. very. very upsetting.
If you get the Frenzied Flame, and then cleanse it with Miquella's Needle, she still tells you to fuck off.
I actually did glitch the game out to do that. Wrong warped to Farum Azula, took the frenzied flame after getting the needle (making sure not to rest at any grace to trigger Melina’s departure), cured it and finished the game

So i just watched all of these in a row....giggled like a fiendish Tarnished that I am, these are amazing mate 100% . 1 that armour is great and you are right (I can't remember his name) he was an amazing warrior and he loved his younger who.....we let die anyway. 2 this is giving me good memories of 100% this beautiful game and soloing The big M (50 trys gotten too stage 2 and 132 to phase 1) but still I can't wait too see more. Do remember as well fellow Tarnished that you are loved and an handsome and important person

The running theory I've heard and actually love is that the reason why Melina is so cryptic about who she is and where she came from and why she wants so bad to burn the erd tree is because that she is actually the grace of Merika guiding the tarnished to truly help burn the tree and end the cycle of the golden order once and for all..

I'm pretty sure this was ng+2 so im pretty sure the story so far is that he got;
lord of fracture ending. Went back because he couldn't save Melina.
Got the lord of chaos ending. went back because that pretty much ruined everyone's lives.
Now we're in this timeline.
He's probably having the time of his life enjoying being alive with all of these demigods.
He could beat Melania, but keeps loosing so she can keep her title as undefeated.
He could have all of the great runes, but won't because he would likely need to kill for them.
He's so in love with this world that he keeps exploring it even though he's done it twice before (But he probably never got everything to be fair.)
And he probably is trying to get the age of stars ending without having everything burn along the way.
