Hadn't thought of it, but... yeah, that's what got me there too. Now, I'm a coin carrying Bastard, a patreon member, my wife buys me their merch, and I'm waiting on their booze to get delivered. So, uh.... Thanks, I think...
I'm currently working my way up from a partially broken filing cabinet. It's like a guy with a mullet lying on his front: business reciepts in the bottom draw, party on the top.
Wow... Daniel poured you some of his last remaining bottle of the old Longmorn 16... He must really like you. You're not just friends anymore Brian, I think this officially makes you brothers now!
In the oncoming apocalypse this vault would become a legend and myth known as the bank of the drunks and many of raiders and rangers will spend their lives finding a way into the vault whether the passcode or a way to break down the door who ever accesses it will have extreme wealth in whiskey and will have control over all the drink rations in the wastes god bless the souls that will spend their lives trying to get in.
Recently I've been on a very long binge of the extended outtakes on the scam stuff channel, and ive realized, there is so much funny stuff happening behind the scenes that we don't get to see. They cut out so much good stuff and I'm glad that they keep it and upload it on a different channel instead of just getting rid of it all together.
So I just googled that patrick khon guy and I saw that someone with name died not too long ago and I hope its not the same guy cuz like anyone who helps creativity like this is a gem! I wish I can be of support but sadly im mere broke college student
Hopefully it wasn’t the same guy, but... If you look at articles from Patreon, some of them mention him. If you go to his profile, you will see that he isn’t currently supporting any creators... Hopefully something minor happened that currently is preventing his contribution. Patrick says he’s alive and well, he’s currently at an undisclosed location where he has spent the last 5 days helping bottle 3 pallets of whiskey for a distillery.
He didn't die (not sure he can?), but there's always the chance he goes back to his own time or whatever. I doubt a "TimeJumper".would stick around in 2020 longer than he needed to.
Ive been watching the whiskey tribe ever since the first time you guys did a video with them. Besides the modern rogue, its one of my favorite channels to watch. Now, a few years later, I sip whisk(e)y and watch them every day. Cheers guys!
Glad to see Dingle in your 'hard to get if we run out' case. I managed to score a case of batch 1 from the SuperValu in Dingle when it was released. Very nice and young whiskey
I just want to take a moment to appreciate the yellow annotations, sometimes digital annotations and computer voice editing. They level up your videos so much!
Love the crossover of two of my favorite videos ( yes I m that one who has more than one fave). This is a great and fun intro. to whiskey and The Whiskey Vault. this is how I found Modern Rogue. "...No Don't tell anyone our secrets...😉" Whiskey Tribe slogan simplified: MY WHISKEY! MY WAY!
First thing that came to mind was - when these bottles are of such a value that you need to put it behind a vault door - I would also maybe invest in a shelving system that is earthquake proof (not sure where the location is). These shelves made me nervous.
A very rough estimate of $75 per bottle puts that at over $150,000 worth of whiskey. THAT is why it's in a vault. Also, I hope they never have an earthquake.
I'd wager they can afford to replace most of it easy enough but I do get anxiety thinking about some of those irreplaceable bottles not being more secure.
That's how you know there friends, you don't just give a random occasional collaborator a taste of your favorite drink, that doesn't even exist anymore.
I noticed you had what I believe to be some Dalmore King Alexander III in that case of hard to replace items. I want to let you know that I work at the Kroger liquor store in Delaware OH and we several of those available that don't sell quickly in our area because of the price point. One of my co-workers dropped a bottle a few weeks ago and I was very saddened by that evet.
What are you talking about? South Texas is one giant, flat hunk of limestone with a few hills interspersed. One EQ and the entire area turns to rubble.
Back in December 2008, my daughter bought me for Christmas an $80 bottle of Lagavulin Single Islay Malt Whisky that was aged for 16 years. After I finished off the bottle, I bought a $40 bottle of Laphroaig Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky that had aged for 10 years. Lagavulin had a very peat smoke flavor. The Laphroaig had many subtle flavors in it. I did fall into alcoholism and against all advice, even my doctors, I just up and quit outright on January 10th, 2016
I'm so happy whenever someone "validates" Jameson I don't drink often at all but whenever I want to treat myself I get a 50 of Jameson and I know it's cheap but it's so good
The Modern Rogue i have long hair, however it’s only the top and the sides are short I had the shocking realization that I now have to do the old Brian hairstyle
With this whole corona virus fun we are currently having.. I had to re-watch the Steven King Stand Movie which they made probably like 30 years back....one of things which stuck me was that if you were one of the folks which survived some apocalypse/plague.....all the stuff which is left when everyone else doesn't is still there.. so perhaps it might be good to get a general idea of where the whisk(e)y vault is on a mapin case you are one of the lucky survivers.
Places like these are always the ones I fantasize about, me running into them during the zombie apocalypse. ahhh man that would be soo freakin cool lol
We found a bottle of Midleton Very Rare Irish Whiskey in my uncles basement.. bottled in 97. Since we were allowed to keep it I tasted a little bit of it and it was awesome.. then I searched for the price of this stuff. I was kinda shocked that I just casually took a sip of 750€ (841,72 US-Dollar) Whiskey...
Show idea: the Whiskey Tribe duo introduce a great whiskey (or other spirit) and explain why it’s so great... and then a low-end, cheap-ass, to-be-avoided, but commercially available, booze. After that, the Modern Rogues compete in a random competition (examples: who can build the best shelter with just a Swiss Army knife in the woods before dark or who can grill the best steak). The winner gets to enjoy the good stuff with the Whiskey Tribe and the loser has to drink the equivalent amount (or until they can’t) of the rot-gut that was introduced earlier. Dunno bout you, but I’d watch that. Definitely better than any “reality” things on cable.
you have a vault door but what about the walls, although no one would think about breaking in through wall as that would just break everything, I am also concerned about someone bumping into a shelve and just splash!
That's awesome! I had a meeting with the guys from Benromach and they poured me a generous shot of 42 year old Macallan and then told me how much it was by the bottle. All I could say was "what a waste to give it to ME! I drink Laphroaig 10 year"
These guys are the new mythbusters, i mean just look at them, Brian is rocking the Adam Savage look and Jason has the same vibe as Jamie Hyneman. I'm just going to wait and hope we either get a colab with Adam as he's fairly active on RUclips or that these guys actually catch some major attention and get more funding so we can get old Mythbusters content back.
I don't even like Whiksy and I'd watch more of the fine people from the Whiskey Vault. Any chance of a crossover between Evil Rex from Rex-Month and TMZCobra?
After this video I found a bottle of longmorn 16 brown bottom green label for 88$ and had it on the way within minutes. I’d listen to anything this man says
As much as I LOVE Daniel and Rex… I hate when people say “people donated because we’re a non profit”…. Just because you’re a non profit doesn’t mean money is not made, just means at the end of the year the company can retain no funds. Doesn’t mean Daniel can’t make 200k a year.

Honestly, im curious how well secured that vault door is. The locking lugs don't appear to have matching holes recessed into the door frame.
“Why these 2000 bottles of Whisk(e)y are locked in a vault?”
Because The Modern Rogue hasn’t done a bank vault cracking episode?
*yet
There should be a strap just in case of earth tremors.

Hey Brian, Adam Savage called.. He says he wants his look back.
he hasn't lost THAT much hair yet........ (sorry Adam, love ya, but facts are facts)
Lol
Yeah I thought it was his brother or related
ALL HE NEEDS IS THE STUPID FN HAT, LOL. LMAO BRO.
okay, now i cant unsee that....you've broken brian for me
Daniel: "Yeah subtle black pepper, honeysuckle, so pretty"
Brian: "SOO SMOOOOTH"
killed me when he said this
* a bottle of anything*
Brian: Is this moonshine?
An excellent bottle
Hey moonshine is fun
If it doesn't smell like gasoline and isn't served in a mason jar, it isn't moonshine to me.
An excellent moonshine
Or not exploding.
if I'm not mistaken this guy is a wizard
Indeed he’s the headmaster of the whiskey wizard academy.
Yes 100% fact he has a castle and everything it's even haunted
Or a very secretive alcoholic
He tried to get 100 alchemy
Potions not whiskey
I would have never found out about Whiskey Vault, tribe without Modern Rogue. Thanks a ton!

Daniel is such a cool down to earth dude. Definitely one of my favorite guests that has been on the show.
I love how Daniel absolutely shatters every 'generalization' about every category that this guy throws at him. His epic whiskey knowledge is on point.

I'm currently working my way up from a partially broken filing cabinet. It's like a guy with a mullet lying on his front: business reciepts in the bottom draw, party on the top.
Out of curiosity, I looked up mesquite-aged cactus whisky to see if something so absurd existed. It does, and its label is amazing.
I need a link!
It's label is literally just a cactus, Del Bac brand
Sounds super Texan lmao
Del bac Dorado. I have a bottle and it's delicious.
It's not technically a whiskey if it's made from cactus.

12:30 one of the reasons Daniel Whittington is an awesome teacher.
Got a bottle of Longmorn 16 unopened with the leather base, didn't expect to see that as your favourite dram ever! Slainte.
I like the quick shot of Kirkland Blended Scotch when you hit that shelf. (It is not a bad whisky.)
A very rough estimate of $75 per bottle puts that at over $150,000 worth of whiskey. THAT is why it's in a vault.

I honeymooned in Scotland for 2 weeks. I spent two days at their Whiskey Experience....toured a few distilleries....man, I need to go back!
one of my favorite whiskeys ever i don't know who made it or if it was even a legal spirit was some sour mash from georgia that was out of dixie cups
