On a nice warm day, that beach looks nice enough to swim in, but no, its full of sharks 🐟 Cool to have your friend film the action. The shark wanted to turn and bite ya. You had the right tool to unhook the beast. Nice underwater release. You are the master 👍🏻 Truly amazing Brett 😮
As a kid -1964 - fishing in the shallows of Anderson Point just north of Ollala. One of these giant sharks swam very slowly under my rubber raft as I was fishing for flounders. I was using bacon and left overs from a steak dinner the from night before. I didn't really know what it was, but it was scary.
I always enjoy the sharks. Neat rig. I assume the spider weight is made to anchor it in current? Does it make it hard to fight a fish if it grabs something? That shark was a sea serpent. Awesome catch.
Thank-you. The weight is attached with light line so it can break off if it gets hung up. I make them so I don't mind losing them. There is a steep dropoff with a rocky edge so we lose lots.
What was the measurement? That was neat seeing it on top of the water out far. Looks like you fishing in a channel I don't need the location don't want to give your spot away, is that a Island across the way or is it a inlet? it seems they like that area the sharks 🦈, Nice job on shark fishing 🎣
Hey me and a friend are wanting to try to catch these bigger sharks, getting a lil bored of the smaller dogfish, any recommendations on where to fish on the sound? Preferably shore access?
I don't. I just rebait every half hour more or less depending how bad they are. Some people will put a float on the leader to raise the bait off the bottom. But with the current exchange and all the weeds I think a raised bait would catch a lot more weeds.
@@semperhigh0311 What species have you caught out there? I haven't tried from the jetty but so far I have only got sevens and soupfins. I heard there are threshers and blues though.
@@semperhigh0311 Good luck. It seems a little sketchy on that jetty. Last time I went a guy broke his leg at the end and had to get flown out. Make sure you have a solid landing spot.
Some. I've tried mutiny bay for halibut but blanked 7 times. Possession bar a few times for salmon and lingcod but not much else. Never for sharks but I would like to try around hat island. Got any tips? I would appreciate any help. It's a long way to go up there for me.
@@PeelingLine I'm only a beach fisher there are public beachs in Golden gardens, Richmond Beach, Edmonds, whidbey island, anacortes and a great place is quemas island across from anacortes

"Peeling Line" was awesome. Too bad you didn't catch your soupfin, but that was a pretty awesome shark you caught!.
Thank-you. I will get one soon hopefully.
Brett, Nice job!

Thank-you. Kids swim in there during the summer, even when people are catching sharks right there. They only try bite you when you are handling them.
Congrats on landing that big shark! Hard to believe that was lurking in those waters! Tight lines! Captain Zac
Right! It's like 30' foot of water there.
What an amazing fight Brett! love it 💪 great catch!!! Underwater release was so cool! Great video brother!
Appreciate it!! Hopefully I can get better footage since I bought an underwater camera.

I bet it was. They are harmless till you try grab their tails.
Wow!! What a catch!! It looked so strong to reel in, and what an impressive shark! Congrats
Thank-you. They are strong but pretty lazy fighters. The soupfins are nuts they fight more like sturgeon.
Nice job man, what a beauty. Great fish
Thank-you.
What an incredible fight! 🦈
I thought I was subbed, but I am now! 👏
Thank-you. The are stong but sluggish.
Awesome catch man!
Thanks!
Really cool catch man congrats on landing that..Such a cool looking shark! 👍👊💪
Cody did a great job. Great video.
Thank-you. It's nice to have a camera man. Usually he out fishes me at this spot.
You at Walker Park?
What a beautiful beast that is. I hope you catch the species your after, I like your catch-and-cooks.
Thank-you. I will get one for sure this year.

What rod holder is that? Looks sick. Or did you make it?
I got it from sportco.
Nice video! I'd love to try fishing for soupfin at some point. Any tips on where to find them?
Still trying to find consistent spots myself. But stay tuned. I'll be hunting for them all summer.
That's awesome man.
Thanks!

Thank-you. I think it was 7' but I didn't get a measurement. My friend says it's a nursery for 7 gills because these are pretty small ones.
thats awesome
Thank-you
In that location are spider weights or triangle weights better?
Both work. Whatever is cheaper for you because there is a drop off and you get hung up a bunch.
wheres the general area you caught this? if you dont mind me asking
South Sound. I can't say more but you may want to read the comments.
Very nice!! Barbless hooks are the way to go!
Thank-you. Yes they are!
Me and my buddies live near the puget sound and have been trying to catch some sharks, are there any recommended locations to catch them
None I can give out. But try anywhere from tacoma south and you should be able to get on them.
@@PeelingLine oh nice, thanks for the feedback

They are all over the place you just have to hit it at the right time / tide. Use bigger baits for bigger sharks.
@@PeelingLineI do know you said they are everywhere but im in olympia and go to budd inlet for dog sharks you think the bigger ones are also there?
How do you stop the crabs from eating the bait?

Looks fun👍🏼
It is. Wish I could give up the spot but I didn't find it myself.
Pretty much anywhere you will catch em I'm headed to Westport next weekend to shark fish off the end of the jetty

What part of the Puget sound are you in. Do you think I would be able to catch big sharks like that in Olympia?
I was in south sound not too far from Olympia. You definitely could.
Are you sure you shouldn’t be chasing white whales instead lol?
If it swims I want to catch it.
