    Fantastic tone and lesson Tim. Your sound is just like the album and this lesson is definitely an essential one as this song is one of the best in the early 2000s lexicon. Liked, subbed, and belled!!!

      @@TimHolman That will be cool! Mike Einziger is quite unique in a lot of what he plays, I think. :)

    Instead of moving back from D power chord on the 5th fret to E power chord in the 2nd, you can slide back to E power chord with B on the bass on the 7th fret instead. It will still sound the same.

    Any way you could show/say what your amp settings are for this?

    • @TimHolman
      @TimHolman  2 года назад

      Sorry, this video was too long ago for me to remember any details. I was using a plug though not a real amp. I would have been using the amps in VST amp rack within Cubase. The only pedals I would have added are delay and reverb. Suggestions that I can offer to get the sound of the album are to use a humbucker in the bridge position for both clean and dirty sounds. For the cleaner tone use just enough gain to fuzz it up (2-4). Dirtier tone go higher (7-9). Cleaner channel set to 4/6/4 for Bass/Mid/Treb. Dirtier channel try 8/6/8. This should get you in the right area and tweak from there. I hope this helps. I'm going to have to start a log of my settings so that I can answer with exactly what I was using. Thanks for watching!
