  • I can't believe that Lowe's Home Improvement is selling these new driver bit sets from FLEX tools! We picked up a brand new 31 piece drill and driver bit set from FLEX (FAM10001-31) at Lowe's too see what we can expect accessory wise from them. After testing the new FLEX drill and driver bits I was shocked and now I can't believe that Lowe's is even selling them right now! Let us know your thoughts on FLEX tools down in the comments section below and if you will be testing these new drill and driver bits out for yourself.

    Its not that it hurts our fingers but milwaukee should include some vice grips to pull out their ridiculously tight bits. It's just a poor design when your pulling the damn bits out so hard the case starts bending. I like that the flex kit was designed not to piss off its consumer base.

    • @billsedutto8824
      @billsedutto8824 3 года назад +2

      Yeah but I wonder how long until the Flex bits start slipping out of the holders. Personally I’d rather have a hard time getting them out then have them slip out and fall all over the place. That’s being said I’m just a DIYer and I understand for contractors that are swapping bits all day long this would slow you down a lot. Isn’t that when you pull out a magnetic tray or something though?

    I’ve drilled into a lot of angle iron. That was very fast. I’m impressed with the bits. People need to just look at all tools without bias. You should only be concerned with what tool is best for the job. I’m a Milwaukee fan but I don’t hate on other platforms if they work well.

    • @jerichojoe307
      @jerichojoe307 3 года назад +1

      For me I don't look at it based on any type of bias. I looked at it on price point vs convenience. The HART line of tools has an exceptional 68 piece driver bit set for $20 for the extra ten bucks that they want for this smaller kit from Flex tools, I can just buy some quality drill bit to replace the five that come in their kit. So for me it's a no-brainer 68 piece vs 30 piece of similar quality🤔🤔🤔 I'll take the 68 and as far as the drill bits; don't underestimate the Harbor Freight Warriors. I got a 30-piece titanium bit kit from them for $15 but actually did quite well even with angle steel. And like I said 68 pieces + 30 piece titanium drill bit set gives me a lot more value per dollar than Flex is even considering to offer right now. And the Heart kit comes with nut drivers and even a square adapter to use with 1/4", 3/8", and1/2" Drive sockets. They call themselves flex, but there are some what are considered to be a lower class companies that are out flexing them so to speak LOL. At least when it comes to accessories . Just my opinion.

      You want to know why they don't make things in America? Because they would have to charge substantially more due to substantially more costs (labor, taxes, regulations, bullshit, etc) for the same item, and it wouldn't be any better. Why? Because the materials will come from the same place anyways and Americans are lazy. Yes, I'm American and I will be first to say it. I look back at all the places I've worked and the lazy people I've seen and I'd rather not own anything made here... I'll happily take Germany, Italy or Japan made over American any day. Believe it or not, it is the norm in their population to have integrity and take pride in their work and doing a good job. We Americans have lost that and it is really sad. We care more about what time it is than anything else. How little we can get away with doing, late all the time, always missing work. Think of some of the fine people you've worked with, I'm sure you can name a good many you'd never hire yourself if it were your business. No better than China 8 times out of 10 and the 2 in 10 it is it is soo much more expensive it obviously and damn well better be!

If only the Milwaukee design team that created the Packouts would design the drill bit cases - that would be great. Bit cases with a clear cover, magnetized bits, customizable cases, and easy to remove/re-insert bits. And yes, you can never have enough drill bits :)

    There should have been no doubts that FLEX would come out with their own accessories lineup. Many people don’t realize the margin of profit on accessories, everyone has to have them or the tool is useless, and they are consumables so they have to be repurchased every so often. If they didn’t make accessories they’d be leaving WAY too much money on the table for their competitors. It’s also an easy add on sale when someone buys a new tool, sell extra consumables. It even makes sense since people don’t want to drive back and forth for more bits, they’d rather buy it now instead of having to come back next week for more.

    Flex will have to get on the deals train. I have all kinds of bit sets from Makita, DeWalt, and Milwaukee and buy them when it's a good deal even if I don't need them. So 30 bucks for that kit is a pass when DeWalt would sell something similar for 10-15 bucks at some point. For what it's worth I'm partial to the shockwave kits but they are not my favorite cases and the cases on the Flex do look pretty convenient if you end up with a bunch of them.

And cannot seem to be able to find out if anyone has reviewed the Gearwrench 81235 and Sunex tools 8855. Or if you know of a third option? In Aviation, most of my hardware is twelve points and SAE/Standard. That solves a lot of issues. I've been wanting to get a set of flex drills for a while now, well someone bought me the drill & impact set and I also got the 41 piece but set. It didn't come with the hard case so it's has the bag instead which Id rather have cause it won't take up much space. We'll long story short a buddy of mine that I've worked with for awhile is a big Milwaukee fan, and one day which working I let him use the Flex drills for the first time and he was surely impressed especially with to power and speed. But I'm telling ya now that within 5 years Flex will be up there in top of the line power tools, their definitely gaining up fast on the main competitors. Plus my.favor color is green especially Green & Black mix, it's definitely caught my.eye and attention and I promise I won't be switching from them. Flex Tools All The Way lol

    Is it just me or am I the only one that doesn't like to load bit boxes on the truck that are missing bits? I have a whole workbench loaded with bit boxes that are partially empty. lol, it's like the stack of socket sets I have that are missing the 10mm. :)

    Funny enough the only complaints I've had for the Ryobi brand drill bits was how tight the case was. Not lying I feel like I have to slice my fingers open trying to pull them out they are so tight. I do use other drill bits that I don't have this issue with case-wise.

    hey Vince nice reviews and yes you did the bit test with the tool hanging on the bit but..... you did the same test with the XPS Makita bit kit and it was even more better kuz you place the impact driver with a 90 degrees angle much easier and therefore you made me bought the kit online kuz in Canada they don't sell it ??? go figured but yes because of you i have the perfect kit....... with my MILWAUKEE tools

    I normally like 1 1/4 impact driver hex 1 3/8 impact driver hex 1 1/2 impact driver hex with a few drill bits & long sleeve magnetic 6 in with tork T15 - T40, Robertson 2, Phillips 1-3, 3/16 flat, 1/4 flat, cleanable hex nut setter 1/4 & 5/16 6 in 4 in & 2 in though a shorter one might be nicer with hex connection for impact driver that is flush for tight corners. This current cost me 120-170 since case is currently Milwaukee, malco nut driver bits, & Milwaukee 6 in magnetic sleeve driver. I thought Makita made similar nut setters though couldn't find any. This is my everyday carry or first case I open every day. The others would be drill set, magnetic nut drive set, then we going to the deep socket sets, security bit set, etc. As a contractor this seems to best to carry less tools though have everything we need. If they'd like to make a kit like this though it cost less that would be useful.

      I'm sure that it's very powerful I saw a couple of reviews but it's not popular now and the line isn't wide like others, I guess hitachi hpt, makita xgt etc will compete in the future very tight.
