Give us a 3-drawer box with a top handle and you got a winner. When my Festool Systainer/Sortainer boxes were stolen, I switched to the PackOut drawer's, and I absolutely dread the fact that they don't have top handles like the Festools. Lifting up a fully packed 3-drawer from the side grabs is an absolute back killer, whereas with the Sortainer you could use the top handle and lift with your feet instead.
@@johnthumble5154 do your boxes magically lift themselves onto the dolly or trolley? mine sure as heck don't, which is why a top handle would be lovely...
This thing is basically a modded pack out which is cool but they missed a big opportunity if they had not been so focused on being like the pack out with more features. That bottom trunk is the Achilles’ heel of the pack out. Flex could’ve used this opportunity to release a bottom trunk with access on the front instead of the top. Love my pack outs hate having to unstack them to get something from the bottom. Milwaukee please we want a new 22 inch rolling tool box(bottom box) accessible from the front similar to the new Packout cabinet. That’s one of the biggest complaints with the pack our system.
it's not a perfect solution, but the packout dolly can be used as the wheels, then you can stack whatever you want on it. So, dolly, then drawers galore, and some organizers gets things done.
@@Dead_Oak_Crafts yeah I did that and the problem with that the weight shifts a lot on it but the biggest problem with it is I open the middle box with the top one or two boxes still on top and you can’t do that with the dolly. I will say this about flex they do their market research and they listen to people. Everything on their modular storage unit is a pack out modification. I would not be surprised if flex answers this call before Milwaukee. But thanks for the suggestion hopefully Milwaukee will start listening to their customers I’ve seriously been considering adding another tool platform.
Think they need to lower the prices a bit. You can get into the Milwaukee 3 box set up for the same price, and I still think the Packout is slightly superior to these. I do like the fact they've thought of "OEM" tool holding, and exterior accessories, but I feel the box-2-box attachment is vastly lacking over Red's design. Like was mentioned by a previous commenter those little half brackets are ripe for getting ripped off, and on top of that being on the sides means you have to remove the whole stack to get a box off when they're packed in tight on the sides. Really the tool/battery, and exterior holders are the only advantages these have over the Packout, and you can get pretty much anything you can imagine aftermarket for the Packouts.
Made by the same company for them as Milwaukee DeWalt Ridgid. Keter basically this is a combination of the world's tough system 2.0 in Milwaukee's pack out and a lot of ways if you working with the company that makes them you can pretty much come up with different design concepts that fit their needs as long as they're going to pay for the boxes to be manufactured
Ill definitely be switching to this system. With a 3D printer and a few earth magnets you could make any tool/accessories work with this system. Ive seen other videos of the toughness and these took more of a beating than Milwaukee and Rigid. Great vid, Thanks.
Do you know of anywhere/anyone with a 3d printer who makes cleats or feet that I could mount onto non stack pack box's/tools/accessories and have them lock into the stack pack system?
@PhilScordato Yes, I used to make a ton of them. When I used to work construction, I had a lot of coworkers/ friends who would like me to make it, and I would. Now I go to college and don't work construction, but I still own a 3d printer and make moded parts.
Damn! These things are sick. I need one for my RPod camper tray that goes over my propane tanks.. for all the camper cords. This is beefy and perfect with so many add on options. Love it. And at great prices.
I've bought into Makita, Hitachi/Metabo, Ryobi Airstrike, Dewalt table and miter saws, and now the new Flex line. When your skill makes good money, there's no point in being a brand fanboy. That's for the birds
Great review as always! Those flip up tabs would eventually get busted off in my work world. Looks like they would be good for the DIYer or home owner. I have one Packout rolling set up and one Rigid rolling set up. They have both proved to be extremely durable with 5 years of hard use in negative 40°F and 120°F plus, heavy rain , snow and ice.
Usually things only get broken due to careless or reckless behavior. Invest in these boxes and I bet you don't let people throw em around or mistreat them. Homeowner or DIY has no business investing in a system like this. Using marketing wank to explain something just makes everything you said sound as fictitious as the terms "pro-sumer, DIY'er and metal latches on plastic boxes makes sense" 🤣 there's only two categories of consumers in the tool world, professionals and non professionals. Let's end the endless nonsense of marketing wank terms and just call it what it is yeah!?! We're supposed to be adults. I'm not saying that the plastic mounting points are a good thing either. I'm sure if I put my sockets in one box and took off rolling it around, it wouldn't stay connected very long 🤯, so despite all the beautiful features and functions, the whole "everything is plastic" thing just turns me off entirely at this price point. I'll save 50% ish and grab the Ryobi setup, at least the mounts aren't just a tiny area of focus 🤷 and if or when they fail, you can't get too upset because you didn't pay steel box money for plastic.
@@winkletown8828 You DO realise there's a HUGE range in "plastics" and their properties, and properly applied they can easily outperform steel/aluminiun for durability in many applications? On the other hand, metal can usually be more easily dented and damaged and will always be susceptible to rust and corrosion, especially if near the coast or salted roads. Not one review I watched mentioned the silver metal hook on the backside of the bottom box. I have this setup and most of the tools. One major problem is you can only get this at Lowe’s. My local store doesn’t stock all the stuff. Lowe’s website makes it a challenge to find the accessories like the battery holders, which are on back order. So far I have only found one inch bits for the impact driver. You can get longer ones in those kit boxes. I never went red but moved from 18v yellow.
I like the direction flex is taking. Kinda sucks but not that I’m in the ridged system. I’ll probably bug my wife Father’s Day next yr and maybe by then flex will have some kind of promo/ sale deals

I couldnt be happier with my flex tools doing home improvement 6 days a week. 1 gripe, is be prepared to be patient for new stuff from them. Theyve been wildly successful globally(the parent company actually invented the angle grinder). However theyre sruggling to get a footing in the US which seems to be slowing things down. But their products speak for themselves, i think they're here to stay
@@lucasbrown9713 flex is the company that invented the angle grinder it was a German company, chevron a Chinese company Bought flex So they could basically attach a power tool history to their tools. They bought a history and a Good story to tell about their Deep Roots. Also their global sales actually had a 0.36% decline last year. They do seem like they make some really good tools I just think they have terrible marketing.

Having the battery and charger options like that is very neat, but would it be practical to have a dedicated 'box' with an option of 110/220V* inlets that an extension could supply power to, with internal sockets to connect chargers to? I was thinking that way it would be much more convenient to just place any discharged battery/ies on the charger/s ready to be charged when a power point was available without all the unpacking that would be required? *If there's a 12/24 V charger in the product line - at least the former SHOULD be available - it could be connected directly to the vehicles's electrical circuit, for charging going to and from jobs?
Man. I bleed red as red can get... Never been swayed to go yellow. I ALWAYS justify paying Milwaukee's premium, for no other reason than they produce the superior tool in every class. Let's be honest with one another... Milwaukee is as good as it gets with every product they produce. Quality, specs, durability, warranty, depth of line, trade focused, etc. DeWalt is the almost as big, little brother. And in America anyway, Makita is the black sheep. I'm not sure why though. Because honestly, in my personal view, Makita surpasses DeWalt on every single category I mentioned above, but places split hairs below Big Red in every category. But as a professional, any one of the big brands will get the job done. I just happen to prefer my milwaukee and in my eyes they are top dog. I know this is just my opinion but to be completely honest, I could argue with every category head to head if I put a Milwaukee tool against any of the competition. I carry M12 and M18 tools to the job site daily. That being said...... I love all tools. I buy all brands of tools. Yellow, green, blue, orange, the other red ones and everything else, including interesting offerings from harbor freight! I use, I abuse, I work, I play, I get shit done with every single color. BUT a few months back, I got a little curious and when I purchased my first FLEX tools, (turbo hammer drill and the higher end impact, one 5ah battery and a 2.5ah battery plus the lowest wattage charger), I was awestruck. I purchased them around February in anticipation for the stacked batteries. After seeing that the DeWalt power stack was a little monster, I couldn't wait to see what the new pouch cell flex batteries could do. I worked for months with the Flex kit I mentioned above as my daily drill and impact I still carry it to the site every day in my pack out. I never even ordered the flex stack battery yet. I still want one to see what it can do but the regular batteries have blown me away. As far as work goes on The daily all of my other impacts and drills sit tucked away right now and I proudly Rock the Flex set. They swim in a sea of red but they hold their own better than I imagined and I still can't wait to see what they do when I finally do order the stacked pouch battery. I look forward to trying some more Flex tools in the near future and seeing what they can do. Those boxes look freaking amazing. I have been checking Lowe's website once a week waiting for them to drop since they were first announced. I will probably never leave red behind but maybe from now on I'll be a guy who rocks both. Much respect to flex so far and for the future. Battles of quality this high between the top tier pro tools benefit us as end users much. Pushes for innovation and to one up each other means better, faster, stronger tools for us. And we all know that means more productivity equals less down time so more $$$in our pockets. Thank you FLEX, Milwaukee, DeWalt, Makita, rigid, Ryobi, Hilti, metabo, skil, HF, Bosch and everyone else. Sorry for the long rant Lol. Rock on and build everyone!
Love this comment bc I too bleed red, but have recently got the in line circ saw, jigsaw, the reciprocating saw (so much less vibration proven in videos), the dry wall cut out tool, and both turbo hammer drill and multi mode impact driver using the stacked lithium and I can whole heartedly say I too am shocked and how much I’m loving Flex coming from Milwaukee.
Cool box with nice features....wonder how those gas struts will last ? Will those bit boxes last when banged around with tools in it? Love the Handle feature though. I lay my milwaukee packout sideways in my pick up. I have had mine since they came out and it has stood the test. Would love to see this under use though. Looks like a great box though that being said
We agree, that's pretty much what we were trying to say. If you're not going to be first, then make sure you do it better or more. I think they've done a really good job for their first stab. Thanks for watching.
It's like they took the Milwaukee Packout and the Dewalt Toughsystem 2.0 and copied features of both. The gas strut is new, but not sure if it's necessary.
I have no idea why everybody is so obsessed with these boxes but these are definitely good looking boxes and I do love some of the accessories that you can put on the outside only problem is I need drawers if I'm going to roll this egg sucking thing into the house and I'm working on I definitely don't want to have to tear it apart just to get to my tools it doesn't make good sense we need drawers lots of drawers that hold lots of tools now those drawers should be in separate boxes so that I can keep different tools for different jobs and different boxes such as a flooring drawers Plumbing drawers so on and so on I have no idea why you people can't understand that
I do electrical, plumbing, heating and cooling, in peoples homes and around my house. I needed a system to keep my tools origanized. Sold!!! Great video!
Lowes where I live does not stock these. Any other stores carry these? Not on Amazon either... I hear they are a Chevron Company. Let us know soon, before I buy Milwaukee, Roby, or Dewalt, or Craftsman.
Would love to see that battery holder work for say Milwaukee batteries, and Metabo HPT, and Bosch batteries too….along w/ other batteries I have too, lol. Yes have Packout and a lot of it, but this cheaper and looks good for durability; so, gonna have to get some and make a Flex Stack Packout storage system 😉
Much rather that all the boxes had the closing storage bins..the others are impractical especially with a side carry handle..(doesn’t make sense..)thanks for the review good info
@Shop Tool Reviews - As you say in the video, _"you could put _*_two_*_ organizer bins in the Flex medium box"._ The QUESTION is whether the organizer bin is sold separately so I can buy an extra one?
Looks a lot like the Kobalt system. Kobalt doesn't have as many box options available yet. Have you or anyone else tried attaching Flex boxes to the Kobalt?
They are very similar but Flex is sturdier and the wheels are nicer, plus the handle is slightly bigger, name tag on every box, same latches, same handles almost...
Don’t get me wrong this undoubtedly the best system on the market. However, it seems a little scummy to me the way they one upped Milwaukee in every way while also taking some inspiration from the pack out system.
Seems like they tried to copy my PackOut but don’t think those snap in box connectors will last very long. Milwaukee, DeWalt and Rigid all have good options but still hooked on my PackOut. They need to reconsider the pricing structure.
It seems as though you'd have to make an investment in all Flex brand tooling to make the most out of the available features and accessories. Doesn't appear to have multi-brand flexibility as far as some of the add-ons go. Still a nice setup though!
Actually, I think most of the accessories are pretty friendly to other brands. The level holder, tool rails, extension cord holder, will all work with different brands. You are correct about the battery and charger mounts. Thanks for watching.
Ugh!! Why do you have to be so observant? Actually, you can open it, but it was a pain. We moved the tracks around, so that's not the case now. We were just showing the rails being installed on the video to show how easy it is to build. Thanks for watching.
Bought this Flex pack out a few months ago. Used on three projects. The latches between the top box and the middle box kept hanging up or not locking. Soooo, tried to call company service to get a fix. Wasn't asking for anything but a tech to walk me through the fix(maybe a replacement latch?). First, good luck getting through, they DON"T answer their phones. After a half hour hold the message comes on offering a call back. No choice gotta grow old on the phone or give up. No call back, so the next day I try again, same deal, but this time I get a cal back. Pleasant young lady hears the problem and takes all my info and says they are sending a new replacement unit!! Of course nothing took place, NO Replacement Unit, No Latches, NO NOTHING!!!! The product seems to be well made except for these few minor issues, however I would never recommend buying a Flex product. They have no customer loyalty.
Interesting I’ve seen this comment written out exactly the same way on 2 different Flex reviews almost makes you wonder if this is another company trying to make a competitor look worse.
FLEX is the company that came onto the scene to be the number one and second best don't cut it. They aren't afraid of a Face Off or 2, not afraid to pull up the FLEX tow truck with Barnabie and Mike the plumber & Repro Milwaukee gen 4 Throne or drive the Hurst with DeWalt & their Stack lithium to their funeral FLEX is what's Next they are about to topple PACKOUT that's what Next.
Thanks for review,, but the company that makes them so you can get your tools without unstacking them all over a customers home , that's the one I'm buying. Till then I'll keep using my 10 year old Rigid tool boxes. They are easy to stack and unstack. You do realize one person can't carry a whole set up , up stairs ?? 🤓
No, different companies. Chervon makes FLEX and TTi makes Milwaukee. Thanks for watching. However, these storage boxes could be coming from the same 3rd party manufacturer. Many of them are made from a company in Israel. Thanks for watching.

I was about to get into the packout but was waiting until the holidays when I could grab them cheaper but I’m liking these flex ones 🤔🤔🤔
Bro PACKOUT never goes on sale, very rear that happens
@@lucasbrown9713 I am maybe the only carpenter with the most FLEX tools and I am willing to ditch my PACKOUT but no drawers means I won't invest in this system.
@@rickyperkins232 I saw it on sale during the holidays last year but yeah it’s on sale like once maybe twice a year haha
Hoping they come out with a tool tote. Then I’d be all in
Omg!!!!! I can't wait...
Pretty good video, some got a little repetitive, but still got a like. Pretty interesting system.
I love flex
Good stuff.
Love this comment bc I too bleed red, but have recently got the in line circ saw, jigsaw, the reciprocating saw (so much less vibration proven in videos), the dry wall cut out tool, and both turbo hammer drill and multi mode impact driver using the stacked lithium and I can whole heartedly say I too am shocked and how much I’m loving Flex coming from Milwaukee.
great video! very cool stuff!!
No drawers FLEX Will have an up hill battle
Milwaukee better have a sale soon or I'll have my mil tools in a FLEX box 🤙
We can't blame you on that one. Thanks for watching.
Tomato, potato 🤷I love them both.
I wish they made the radio to clip in like the fan
Cool box with nice features....wonder how those gas struts will last ? Will those bit boxes last when banged around with tools in it? Love the Handle feature though. I lay my milwaukee packout sideways in my pick up. I have had mine since they came out and it has stood the test. Would love to see this under use though. Looks like a great box though that being said
I can’t find the serial number for the stack pack boxes to register them online. Anyone know?
Just got mine!! Hellnyes
It’s the Apple approach….let others do it then do it better. Thanks for the review!
LOL No. Apple doesn't do it better. It took you how many years to get a battery percentage indicator on your sceen?
Think they did think of everything
Toughbuilt stacktech is gonna eat this alive
Would love to see that battery holder work for say Milwaukee batteries, and Metabo HPT, and Bosch batteries too….along w/ other batteries I have too, lol. Yes have Packout and a lot of it, but this cheaper and looks good for durability; so, gonna have to get some and make a Flex Stack Packout storage system 😉
You can buy battery mounts for any brand. Stealth mounts are probably the most popular
Much rather that all the boxes had the closing storage bins..the others are impractical especially with a side carry handle..(doesn’t make sense..)thanks for the review good info
I wish flex had a drawer system as well like DeWalt and Milwaukee, even though the accessories would no longer work.
You're wish has been granted. I just bought a 3 drawer at Lowe's yesterday.
Prior Flex boxes were L-Boxx like Bosch’s and other brands. Are these still L-Boxx?
No they are 2 different systems
He got the August allergys
Red forever
Curious to see someone work these items into a Ridged box.
How tall is the handle slot ince handle removed? Common problem is the box is too tall to go under a truck bed cover.
Skipped measuring it on purpose
looks like around 20 inches to me
Don’t get me wrong this undoubtedly the best system on the market. However, it seems a little scummy to me the way they one upped Milwaukee in every way while also taking some inspiration from the pack out system.
It's just Packout but gray, and 55% heavier.
Nice
Thanks for watching.
I'll stick with my ridgid. That interlocking system looks like it will break in a day
I think flex is second best under under Milwaukee flex will eat into dewalt and ridged!
...but where are the drawers? still the most useful toolbox in my opinion.
Shame these aren’t sold in the UK
I'M TAKING MY PACK OUT BACK TO TOO HOME DEPOT AND GETTING THIS INSTEAD.....
1, 2 and 3 drawer makes a complete system. What’s with manufacturers making flip top designs???
packout and thoughsystem 2.0 had a baby they named it Stackpack
Seems like they tried to copy my PackOut but don’t think those snap in box connectors will last very long. Milwaukee, DeWalt and Rigid all have good options but still hooked on my PackOut. They need to reconsider the pricing structure.
Now the organizers are ok with open bins but not the big boxes
Damn these new systems are expensive, I'm glad Ridgid didn't go all Boujee yet.
That first external rack you put on blocks your locks and can’t open the bottom box with that on.
Ugh!! Why do you have to be so observant? Actually, you can open it, but it was a pain. We moved the tracks around, so that's not the case now. We were just showing the rails being installed on the video to show how easy it is to build. Thanks for watching.
I’ve invested too much money in Milwaukee storage but for all people starting out it sees better to go with flex after watching this review
Why is no one mentioning how they just colored the dewalt tough system 2.0 grey?
Wow!!😁
Good stuff. Thanks for watching.
they didn't think of drawers. all I want is a bottom box, drawers in the middle, and a top box that flips up.
Do they make a red and black version LOL
I can pick up two full boxes with Milwaukee I don’t think those tiny side locks could handle that
FLEX is the company that came onto the scene to be the number one and second best don't cut it. They aren't afraid of a Face Off or 2, not afraid to pull up the FLEX tow truck with Barnabie and Mike the plumber & Repro Milwaukee gen 4 Throne or drive the Hurst with DeWalt & their Stack lithium to their funeral
FLEX is what's Next they are about to topple PACKOUT that's what Next.
Thanks for review,, but
the company that makes them so you can get your tools without unstacking them all over a customers home , that's the one I'm buying. Till then I'll keep using my 10 year old Rigid tool boxes. They are easy to stack and unstack. You do realize one person can't carry a whole set up , up stairs ?? 🤓
If Milwaukee and DeWalt had a baby....
Flex:
Im not implying if its a good or bad thing but they look so close to Milwaukee, Are they the same company??
No, different companies. Chervon makes FLEX and TTi makes Milwaukee. Thanks for watching. However, these storage boxes could be coming from the same 3rd party manufacturer. Many of them are made from a company in Israel. Thanks for watching.
Shoulda used a Milwaukee screw gun just for kicks!
