Heard this was getting closed down, I'm glad I was able to get on it with my little cousin on my trip to NJ, she's a beginner to coasters, so this was a fun ride for her. If it's true that this is getting closed down then gonna miss this!
Kinda reminds me of Adventure Express, pretty legit themeing to mask an otherwise ok ride- I'd still take coasters like these as "fillers" over the old boomerangs any day! 👍🤘
@@chuck4714 i say those are must dos for 1 reason, getting over your fear of going upside down. I had a crazy fear of doing so, but got over that when I went on Sooperdooperlooper at Hershey park, the later the incredible hulk coaster the same year. Never let fear control you, fxck fear 👌
I almost died on this ride back in 1998. I was too short and they let me ride, my right leg came out of the guard rail on the first drop and I had to fight like hell before the first turn to get it back in before the inertia tossed me out on the second drop. Scariest coaster experience of my life.
So it’s like Space Mountain kind of, but with a pirate-sounding name? Lol. Was it there in 2000? The only time I’ve ever been to Six Flags NJ. It’s funny because in DC, Six Flags America used to have a “Pirates of the Caribbean”-themed boat ride, but called Skull Mountain. It had an 80° near-vertical, 100 foot final drop where you splashed down out of a giant sculpted skull “mountain’s” mouth. The tallest and steepest at the time for a flume ride.
This may seem like a weird question, but can anybody tell me if this coaster jerks your body around more or drops worse than Rollie's Coaster at Mariner's Pier? Rollie's Coaster kind of hurts me so I need something less intense than that. Yeah, unfortunately I'm 54 and can't take much.
This whole year, the props for Skull Mountain were not working at all and everything was just pitch-black. I wonder when they're going to fix it because it's kinda boring without the effects tbh :/
This looks absolutely insane!! Six flags NJ is my home park and I’ve been on skull mountain over 20 times! How come I’ve never seen this before?!?
This was during the summer vibes festival. The lights have since been turned off.

I've always loved skull mountain, it's always a must do when I go to the park, so is bizarro (Medusa) and batman the ride

Ride it on the back, you'll love the pop you get
Make sure to also ride batman the ride, or even Medusa, those are good starters for rides with loops, I would even recommend nitro
kinda, depends what you are used to. the initial drops in this will make your stomach drop if you're fairly new to roller coasters

This one is way smoother than Rollies 🤌🏽 though I know 90 year old that still ride coasters!🤷🏻♂️

It’s been fixed! I went today and the lights were also off when I went back in august of last year.
