Phil, this reminded me of a White Ford Escape I worked on a few weeks ago that the owner used masking tape to affix home made signs around the entire car including the chrome, glass and rubber. I used Krud Kutter which I guess is similar to the Goo Gone product. What a time saver that stuff is. Whish I had found your video before hand.
If you go on dipyourcar.com they sell 32oz spray called dip dissolver for around $26 us dollars might help keep a bottle or 2 around helps remove the over spray of plasti dip dissolves it in all the cracks.
I used about 3 or 4 microfiber discs and I blow them out after each section with my air compressor. Once they get used up I set them aside to get washed later.
Hi Phil ..... Now that's what I call a great job and super fantastic results, given the state the car was in !!!! Which finishing wax was it that you used ?
Just curious but what was your first reaction when you saw the amount of work that was going to be needed or even when the car was first presented to you?
Awesome turn around. You saved that paint. How are your headphones holding up? I am looking for something like that, but don’t want to spend $150 on apple airpods. Thanks for posting, definitely a thumbs up.
Looks great. But had it not been easier if you just gave the car a TarX treatment during the wash? Perhaps a different brand where it’s stronger concentrated. That and being washed with the pressure washer should’ve eliminated the majority of the plasti dip and save you some time with the tedious work.
I tried. This stuff was crazy to remove on all the tight areas. The pressure washer did nothing in removing the plastidip, it’s not strong enough and I don’t go to close with it anyway. This was more surgical and time consuming to do it correctly and safely. 😎👍🏼
Miranda Detailing. Makes sense. I tried a somewhat similar disastrous plasti dip job on my own car where the residue just wouldn’t loosen from the paint, though it wasn’t as bad as this Audi. The turnaround looks amazing. Nice work 😎
Hi I noticed that you have some 3D products on your shelf. Would you mind giving me your honest opinion on them or making a video on the products you've used. The only real reviews on RUclips are from the 3D RUclips channel. Thx
I have used their carpet and upholstery shampoos, All Purpose Cleaner, Orange degreaser, wash and wax soap, w as tearless car wash, and all their dressings. I love them.
Excellent job Phil. That Audi is gleaming.
Wow that plastic dip job I was bad and you did a great job taking the rest off the car
I used the finishing wax for the first time yesterday based off your recommendation....it brought some nasty oxidized paint back to life. Love it!
Sweet! So happy to hear others trying it and loving the results. It’s super under rated stuff right?!
Horrible doesn't begin to describe that plasti-dip job!
Oh the humanity!!! You probably got the best results possible without actual sanding!
😂. Crazy right?!
Great work! Respect👍
Wow that was alot of work. It looks amazing. Great job !!
Thanks.
Wow! That turned out really amazing Phil. More power to you brotha...
Thanks!! 😎👍🏼

Hi Phil...Never mind, found it... Didn't finish watching the video till the end at time that I asked that question about the finishing wax
Amazing transformation Phil... Thank you ;-)
Wow, wow, wow! Such a transformation.. whoever did that dodgy plati-dip needs a high five.. in the face, with a chair!
Good work👍
Love it bro👍🏼👍🏼

Thanks, Good idea for the future. I couldn't get my hands on it in time for this one
Hey bud. I sold a headliner cleaning as an add on to a basic interior job. Can I use carpet dry foam on headliners?
Hi. Yeah we use turtle wax interior 1 foamer on headliners and it’s great
Great video like always !! Any chance you will make a “how to compound & polish for beginners “ anytime time soon ?
Thanks! Yes totally! I’m working on it!
How many compounding pad did you go through on this car or how many times did you have to clean your pad
Hi. Thanks so much! It was Megs Fast Finish. I think they may be discontinuing it though 😕 amzn.to/3cUvMJB
You mised the headphones link, and some headcam polishing takes with actual detailing sound. Nice results!!
Oh yeah I put those headphone links in there
I put the links in for the headphones! Or just click this amzn.to/2Y7ZKSL
What a transformation Phil, nicely done. How long did that take, do you still rate Fast Finish ?
Thanks! I don’t remember how long exactly. But probably around 4-5 hours.
@@MirandaDetailing What are your thoughts about Fast Finish, do you still use it ?
Well it’s now discontinued and I think they relabeled it and selling it this now bit.ly/3nTgZ9M but I haven’t tried this one yet.
Just curious but what was your first reaction when you saw the amount of work that was going to be needed or even when the car was first presented to you?
😳🥺😖😫🤦🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️. That amount sums it up.
@@MirandaDetailing 😂 ok
Great job amazing
Thanks!
Great turn around on the paint looks great product for cleaning glue off heavy bugs and tar remover control 266 will better the googun
Thanks! I need to get my hands on some of that stuff. It’s Citrol 266 correct?
Wonderful. Love your videos.
Thanks!
Would a steamer not be able to get rid of that residue?
Unfortunately no. Residue like that needs a solvent to remove.
After all it looks amazing 😉
😬...Amazing transformation...😎
Awesome turn around. You saved that paint. How are your headphones holding up? I am looking for something like that, but don’t want to spend $150 on apple airpods. Thanks for posting, definitely a thumbs up.
Thanks. I love the ear buds. I use them for doing interiors also because they block out noise.
congrats
File this under what the hell was someone thinking!
That was awesome
Thanks!!
Great job Phil! How many hours start to finish? The reflection in the black metallic looks good.
It took me the whole day. I believe I started the evening before and spent the next day on removal and polishing.
Should have just used Dip Dissolve. It's meant to dissolve plasti dip.
I wouldn’t have loved to get my hands on that. But I didn’t have time.

you saved that poor mans car. Lesson learned, Know what your doing with plastidips
Yup...exactly. 😎👍🏼
Just found your channel and I almost cried when I Audi A5 you did a great job bringing it back to life.
Hi and welcome!!! Thanks man! That one was certainly a challenge!
how long did this take you.
Pretty much the whole day about 7-8 hours.
Hi Phil, what IPA did you use and the ratio?
The IPA I used was really strong. I used 1:1 91% with water.
Goodness.... I wouldn't have done this crazy job. I would of priced myself out lmao
I know...I know. I considered it a challenge! Now I know how to approach jobs like this. 😎👍🏼
@@MirandaDetailing much respect!

Definitely! I love 3D products!
@@MirandaDetailing I like their compounds and polish but was wondering more about the soaps, degreaser and wheel cleaner. What are your thoughts?
I have used their carpet and upholstery shampoos, All Purpose Cleaner, Orange degreaser, wash and wax soap, w as tearless car wash, and all their dressings. I love them.
What size is your garage
It’s 12x20
What song is that at 34:40?
soundcloud.com/ekaterina-kovalenko-21963618/let-s-go-home
How much did you charge the customer for this job?
Probably not enough. I wasn’t sure how it was going to go, I think about $800
11:02 whats the name of the music?
Hi. Sorry, This is an older video, I don't have the info on the songs used anymore.
Next time use dip dissolver and save ur self alot of time.
Didn’t have time I get it. 🤷🏻♂️. I had to work with what I had.
Why would you plastidip in first hihihi
Why, who thought that was a good idea.
I know....🤷🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
