I would like to know why PP is coveted. Personally, I would prefer a Lange anytime.
Vacheron Constantin, Audemars Piguet and Patek Phillipe are the generally accepted “holy trinity” of watches. Piaget, while an excellent brand with pedigree and heritage is not part of the “holy trinity”.
Who cares? None of the so-called Trinity has members of the founding family still working with the company producing watches. Piaget does.

I like the fact how H Moser & Cie is never mentioned even by some of the serious watch collectors, let alone other people! For me, this brand is one of the bests with zero marketing gimmick and a unique look
they probably seem weird to many like the rm's... its probably a bit too chunky for the traditional wtch guys and too classy for the modern watch people

I appreciate that there are some entry level Jacob & Co watches that are cheap, but how you could leave them off the list, especially their Astronomia range...
JLC is not on the list likely for the same reason. I originally was expecting Jacob and JLC but when they said the lowest model had to be more expensive than the Rolex lowest model I realized they may not show up. For me that show there are brands you can get much better value for money than Rolex.

Most people who actually know about watches wear a watch more expensive than a rolex... including myself. ROLEX, the Epitome of spending more, for less.

Richard Mille watches will be my all-time favorites. But as I'm a son of a big watch collector which has watches of almost every brand you can name, getting a Richard Mille is one of his and mine’s biggest dreams.
I am genuinely curious. What do you find attractive about the horrendous looking richard milles? To me, they look incredibly flashy and tasteless honestly. And their minimal complications really do not justify the hype or the prices.
Sadequs Haque I do think they generally look good and special, but I can agree some of them are waaay too flashy and even ugly sometimes. Also, I think it’s amazing that a brand which is considered pretty new can become a status symbol so quickly, so I think it’s also about the inspiration I get from the brand.
What determines a good watch is history, pedigree and craftsmanship of top time instruments, not necessarily the expensive pricing. The brands mentioned by Alux are all haute horology which Rolex is no where near to be honest, Rolex is historically a working man's time piece priced at a weeks wage, this is the history of the brand. Due to artificial scarcity by Rolex and watch dealers most Rolex enthusiast misconstrue scarcity with rarity hence paying for an overpriced utilitarian movement.

I have to agree with you there, VC has more class than Patek, Breguet and JLC are pure class.
I would also add IWC and of course, Laurent Ferrier.
Noo IWC is definitely not more exclusive than Rolex.
Laurent Ferrier same as F.P Journe they are relatively new watch brand. High-end, some more “exclusive” than Rolex line-ups. I mean if you count 16595 Rainbow Daytona... hmm idk about that.
IWC does qualify and they do NOT fit the title, as their lower end watches are over priced at $4K USD and use standard mass produced ETA movements.

Apart from the Holy Trinity gaff, her pronunciation of the Swiss and German makers was pretty good.
You can get some of these makers at affordable prices, for instance, I have a watch that although not made by Roger Dubuis (1st on the list) it contains a complication made by him and I paid less than £1,000 for it (used)

Grand Seiko is definitely a better timepiece than Rolex.

To be honest Rolex is an entry level luxury watch. And majority of watches trade in a range of 10-30K. I'd say Blancpain, Breguet, are priced similarly. Tho there are countless brands that are more expensive than Rolex. Yet only Rolex has wait list.

This video is confusing real watch makers with jewelry makers. Piaget got beautiful watchers but is a jewelry makers so is Cartier, Bvlgari.
Except very few brands, most watch brands belongs to the same company: Swatch.
Parts are manufactured in China/Asia and only assembled in Switzerland.
You want a truly luxury watch? Go to very small manufacturers that produced only a few pieces per year. There are few in Switzerland. The rest is all Swatch Group.
