  • Navionics relief shading is a high resolution mapping layer which shows underwater structure such as reefs, sand bars and wrecks in incredible detail. Relief shading is available on the Navionics Boating app for mobile devices, and on Platinum+ card for use in compatible plotters/fish finders.
    The video shows how to use relief shading on the Boating app on a phone (iPhone) and tablet (iPad), and also on a chart plotter (Lowrance HDS Live). The video also shows the features which are available, and how to set them up on both an iPhone and a chart plotter, as well as explaining the subscription required to purchase and operate the functionality.
    Please check the Navionics website to see if relief shading data exists for your area.

    Hello, Thanks for this video!! Question, can you build a track to fish on your phone from home, and then transfer it or sync it to the Lowrance HDS Live 12? I know you can with Garmin, but how can us Lowrance users do this? Thanks again!

      I guess you could contact a Navionics rep where you live? Sorry, I don’t work for Navionics, I’m just a fisherman who likes using the product.

    Hi, where is relief shading data from?
    I'm using navionics with my gen3, and I'm drawing my on bathy maps with it, it details enough but no shading, can it used my bathy data to render that shading?
    Im from Indonesia, and navionics base map are really awful, it's impossible to use it without sounder data

      The data comes from the Navionics site and is loaded on to your platinum Navionics card. I would use the relief shading layer with the Navionics layer, as shown in the video

    I’m having difficulty with my relief shading, when ever I go to zoom in the screen turns white and I lose all the detail. Any idea what could cause that please? Thanks

    Does each Lowrance plotter require a card to be purchased individually ?? Or can one card provide map data to other units connected via NEMA / ethernet ?

    • @dizzyfish
      @dizzyfish  8 часов назад +1

      I don't think you can share the map data across ethernet, but I could be wrong. If it was me, I would dedicate one head unit to display charts.

    I live in Sarasota and it is blank till around 80 miles out I was told it’s blocked by FWC. Is that true?

      Hi Randy - I am based in the UK, and the coverage is pretty good around here, but looking at global coverage, I guess it depends where you live

      Hi Haf Haf -- I had a quick look on the Navionics website, and it didn't look like relief shading was available in North Africa - See www.navionics.com/gbr/charts/features/relief-shading#map-rs-eu

      That doesn’t sound right to me, I would contact someone at Navionics. Have you downloaded your maps? I download the maps in the areas I am planning to fish, in case I don’t have internet connectivity

      Hi Nick - the case featured the n the video was for an iPad mini. It is an aiShell waterproof case and waterproof charge connector. I seem to remember it was made by a German company called Andres industries. I hope this helps?
