Feel your frustration. Patriots fan but not here to gloat. Quite the contrary. NY Jets have a great brand and great fans. Nothing I'd rather see than a tremendous inter divisional rivalry between these two teams (i.e. Red Sox /Yankees). Pat's are in rebuilding mode with a plan and I like what I see so far. If I was a Jets fan, I'd be freaking out.
In 3 years, Jets will be drafting their next franchise QB. It's a vicious cycle.

Many of the NY based (national) media are Jets fans. They contributed to the Rodgers 2.0 talk with the Wilson comparisons. I've seen several QBs with strong arms become busts. I don't think Wilson will be a bust, but I think he will be a slightly above average QB at best.

Great point by greeny, the Jets put there young QB, and player's in a very difficult spot. By not having some veterans, especially a veteran backup QB. Like the Pat's have in Hoyer. He might be a backup, but he knows the playbook, and he knows tendencies from others teams, and players tendencies. Knowledge is invaluable to a rookie QB.
It's just been reported that the Jets have brought in Joe Flacco from the Eagles, i didn't even know he was even still in the league.

Under the ownership of Woody Johnson, the Jets have amassed a regular season record of 143 wins and 184 losses. There was no plan to groom Sam Darnold. There is no plan to groom Zach Wilson. The Jets cannot attract coaching talent because of the dumpster fire the ownership team has been for years. The last time the Jets were in the Super Bowl, I was 13 years old. Things will not change until ownership changes. Fifty two years and counting.

I agree that it's probably good that Wilson will be gone for a while. Right now all he's learning is how to lose, it's going to completely screw up his confidence, there are a lot of quarterbacks that got off to a bad start in the NFL and were never able to bounce back from it. He needs some time to get his mind right. He's not being coached right, and he's learning to expect failure in every situation. I hope that next year he gets a new coach that can re-coach him, and put him on a better track

Sadly, Greeny is on point here! The only time the JETS looks alive is when the QB went off-script and create his own play to win against the Titans. Hope they win at least another game or two to close out the season.
The NYJ have been an embarrassment since they fired rex. they don't know how to build around their QBs. that's why every QB for the Jets failed.
One might argue the embarrassment started long before Rex arrived. In addition, he helped ruin that team going for it all w free agents and big signings virtually throwing away the future for the 2 years they made a little run.

Greenie: the goal line situation. Compare it to a pass and is it complete or incomplete. You have to have control of the ball when you cross the goal line.
Robert Saleh is a good guy and was a very good DC for the Niners. But I never understood how a person who's never been a head coach, at any level, got that position with the Jets. Nor did I understand all the enthusiasm of his hiring from the press, including from Greeny. So I'm not too surprise at what's happening right now. I just hope Saleh can ride the storm and bring back a little better Jet team next year and going forward cause he is a good guy.

Honest question here. Could the offensive coordinator even run a major High School football program? I'm not sure he could. Why is he coaching in the NFL?
"Ill constructed", "Mike Lafleur lost", etc,etc,etc... I think Mr. Greenberg is speaking emotionally for ratings. If you expected the youngest team in the league, coming from a roster previously void of talent, to immediately provide anything but inconsistencies, you are being foolish. AVT, Elijah Moore, Michael Carter, MC2, Hall, Becton, Fant, Williams, and on and on. This team is putting together a good roster, with responsible finances. No one is going to fix the problems they had in one or two years.
I don't blame Douglas at all. He has actually drafted some REALLY good players who are just not being used correctly. Look at Moore never being in the slot, mims not being used, Carter being horrendously used 99% of the time. There is skill. Wilson is not part of that skill however

At first It was the Vinnie Testaverde #16, then the Pennington #10, then #17 (Carter), then #5 (Bollinger), then #11 (Clemens), then #4. (Farve), then #6 (Buttfumble), then #7 (Geno), then #14 (Fitz), then #15 (McGown), then #14 (Darnold) and now #2 (Wilson). We are all taking bets on what number he will have in a couple of years. Soon he will only need to change. the nameplate as more dups will come in the next 5 years or so.

Saleh isn't bad. Everyone wants an immediate turnaround. Changing a culture takes time.
And a week later Zac Taylor is sitting in a post-game presser saying he got outcoached by saleh, and that the team was outplayed. Greenys overreactions make for good TV, but in hindsight, Good TV doesnt mean logical analysis of an organization.
