Nice work. I too am a smart repair tech. A decent, honest, down to earth video. Viewers wondering what it's all about? This guy nails it. Keep up the good work👍
Thanks 👍
Brilliant work. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🏴
Mate absolutely class love watching how its done ✔
thanks pal
Excellent work indeed hell from Phil in Syd great to watch helps a lot.👌
Cheers
Wow, great job. Obviously as DIY at home garage we can’t do like what he did as some of the equipment is missing , and admittedly some expertise too. In any case , it’s a great learning tool , will watch again and again until I knew the theory at least while attempting on my wife’s expensive Audi and save a couple of thousand dollars that was asked to fix it ! Thanks for the tutorial video, appreciate you !
Thanks for the feedback
highlight of my day when a notification of a new CVR POV video pops up ;)
Thanks for watching mate im gonna be working on plenty of varied content
brilliant bud thx for taking the time to make it cheers paul
Thanks for watching paul
Great job 👍
Great video, where can I get the paint gear products from? Can you provide affiliate links or point me in the right direction, I would love to purchase some, I've heard some great things about them and would love to try them for myself.
Looks great 👍
Another great video mate...stay safe from NZ
Thanks. Yes you too look after yourself 👍🏼
Your Chanel is mint learning a lot keep these gems coming
I will do thanks for watching
Great work. Just a little confused why you back masked around the bumper/headlight edge? What purpose does this have?
Once the laquar was fully cured did you do any buffering?
Hi, brilliant videos mate. Keep the good work up. Is it water based or solvent paint you are using and can you recommend a good infra red heat light. I use solvents at moment. As I thought waterbase take longer to dry.
Thanks
Solvent based paint. Infra red curing lamp maybe Google that
Love the videos you make it look easy what mm is ur primer gun setup
Think its a 1.3 pal
Nice love watching your videos what size gun tip do u use
I usually use either and lph 80 1.2 or a devilbiss sri pro 1.2 for base and a 1.3 gti pro lite for clear
Great job, good video, where can I buy some of that APC Grime remover?
Email info@paintgear.co.uk if your in the uk
How about similat repair on a white pearl? Any differences in the technique/steps??
Thankyou 👍
Welcome 👍
Good job
Thanks
What about the clear coat blend line? I did my repair in a similar manner and there was transition of the clear coat visible, and it couldn’t be buffed out. Even more, the more I tried polishing the line was more and more visible…
Nice job as always bro but this video kind of a different from other ones like did you before hand polish the blending area before adding the fade out thinners or u only keyed the blending area and spray clear or lacquer into it followed by fade out thinners. Your reply will be appreciated. Thanks
I would of polished into the scotch area to make the blend area as normal
Best 😊
Thanks
Thanks
Thanks for watching!
Is that a W300 you use for your 1K primer and if so what tip size have you got in it? Seems ideal for the job when fluid and fan wound in. Cheer and great vid as usual. Keep em coming!👍
1.3 mate. Probably a bit too good for a primer gun but it works and it gets some hammer and keeps going. I often wind the fan right in and have it in pistol form which works well too.
@@cvrpov Thanks for that. Very much appreciated 👍🍺
Nice job, but wonder this much multi-layer taping is necessary.
Good work, how do you go about with the paint matches so many times paint will not match ?
Some knowledge, blowing into next panel and a bit of luck
Spray outs too? Colours have different variants. If you are after paint for yourself. Some paint supplier can match your paint using a spectrometer.
Nice job mate! What primer are you using has it got a good build? Be handy to know 👍
hi mate, it was a 1k ready for use primer on this job but sometimes i use a 2k which offers better build
@@cvrpov What brand is it mate? I only use 1k cans but find them very clumsy especially when trying to keep the area nice and small 👍 wouldn't mind trying it out. cheers
What is the total cost for this small repair and how much time did you need to finish this?
How long did it take you to do this repair really good job mate love watching your videos
2 hours
@@cvrpov thankyou for letting me know 💯
Hi, why did you polish the panel in the beginning? Does this help with the colour match to get the paint back to original unfaded white
Its more to remove scratches, tar and any previous waxes etc
Hi mate can you tell me. I do similar smart repairs like you. Iam thinking of upgrading to a sri or a pro lite? for clear coat... Iam using a FLG 5 for clears coats now...which i find not to bad...Which one should i go for? I know you use a pro lite? Thanks
AFAIK The original Sri pro is now discontinued (pink one). The flg is a good gun but I know a couple of guys who have upgraded to a pro lite and noticed the difference. Its an excellent gun.
I was wondering when is best to use a adhesion promoter on the repairs ? Before filler ? After filler ? And what part of the repair ? Entire area or just the repaired sanded and filled area ?
I dont personally use any adhesion promoter. Usually before you apply the base
Top dog bro 👌
Thanks for watching
Incorrect C2 continuity, becase of too much sanding. This is easy to spot in the reflections.
how long did you wait to apply the fade out thinner?
Apply immediately after spraying
More Videos.👍👍
Working on it man 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
How long do you wait from your first taki coat of clear until your second coat?
Depedns on the time of year but around 2 mins on this video. Wait till the tape around it is tacky to touch
What size compressor do you use for these jobs?
100 litre 3ph belt driven
Could you achieve a similar blend using rattle cans with this tactic?
Yes
@@cvrpov Awesome, im going to try this soon on some metallic paint on my car, wish me luck 😬
What are the chances of this pealing over time vs a full bumper respray? Also is it safe to ceramic coat over a repair like this and can that help the longevity of a repair?
These repairs last just as long as any! Ceramic after 4 weeks like any other paint job
wich adhesion promoter do you use?
I've never used any adhesion promoter and I've never had any issues
can I use airbrush for this jop ? I dont have big compressor and pro. airgun
Get rattle cans. Air brush will not be a good idea
Hi which primer and clear coat u use .. thanks
Indasa high build primer and I use diamond clear from express paints (uk)
What spray gun do you use for primer?
A 1.3 iwata
What brand of 1k primer do you prefer mate
I use one in a bottle pre made from Nationwide smart repair. I just leave it in a dedicated gun and use when needed
can you do a video on a silver car?
Yes i will at some point. thanks for watching
Which plastic primer do you use?
Its a 1k based primer, ready for use out of the gun
Do you aapply a 2k clear coat ?
Yes
Which compressor you use
90 ltr abac belt driven 3hp
Easy way to repair, use 320 grit then 500. Primer, rub primer with 500. Scotch pad area . Paint n lacquer
Dont use material by over useing masking tape and brown paper
Dont forget to cover the car otherwise you'll spend hours cleaning the over spray
👍🏼
Mate which lacquer are you using?
Diamond clear express paints
@@cvrpov 5 mins hardener? Assuming you did the job in January?
Wish you was in philly
Which areas do you guys cover for repairs?
Derby, Nottingham, Chesterfield, Mansfield
How long were the drying times for primer, 1st and 2nd base coats (and did you allow the base coats to dry naturally?). How about after the coats of lacquer too?
It’s a shame you didn’t show the wet sanding and polishing stages too.
Great video 👍
Hi mate. I wanted to keep this video quite short. I will be focusing on all these things in other vids. This 1k primer dries under heat gun in around a minute. 1st layer of base dries in a few seconds when blowing with air but leave 3-5 mins between the other coats. This lacquer dries in 10mins under infra red and there's a couple of mins between coats
CVR POV 👌👍
👍🏼
Is there a concern with the sandpaper hitting the tire?
First time car owner. Been learning a lot from here (:
Try not to hit the tyre
Are you using 2k or water based colour ?
solvent....
Solvent base, 2k clear
How much the repair of that type?
150.00 +
👍
🤜🏼🤜🏼
How much does a repair like this cost?
prices for most repairs of this kind can range from 120.00 to 150.00
It's great if you have access to a body shop!😂 JK, nice work. I got a paint transfer I have to address...
Hope the vid helped in some way
Brilliant 💯👍👍
But music DURING vids would be nicer 😎
Noted 👍🏻
Let’s see you do that with a metallic🤣
Pity your not in Sydney.
Defo
Good job, but if you have all those tools you're probably a pro anyway so won't need to watch the video.
Same methods
Nice job but let's be fair. It's white.
It is white to be fair
You have a phone or somthink
Yes
Is it so hard to loose the bumper just a little bit?. Then where is the degreaser??. Big fail on that.
He used a apc degreaser to start with !!!!!!
not really logically necessary to remove the bumper and i dont have any problems doing it as in the video. I used polish, apc and also 2 different panel wipes on the repairs. thanks
