I like this style of program. Too bad I live in the USA. we just get horrific housewife reality shows or cop dramas.

I have got the Disco 2 V8 and have never had any problems with it. heavy on fuel but the fun I have makes up for the cost.

They are both different cars in so many ways apart from 4 wheel drive and a v8!

The Disco is way more luxurious. Try sitting in the back. It's gorgeous, and you can go up all those hills Ian avoided.

I bought a 1999 for $750 US and while my Disco may be costly over time (I live in Boston) but I can go over mountains while maintaining ridiculous torque. The Audi is lovely, but in my Disco, I can turn left or right on to literally almost any road. Tractors get the fuck outta my way.
I'd take the German electrical over British engineering any day, but I can take you wherever the fuck you want in my Disco (as long as you runs).

Petrol, How Much do you Pay per U$ Gallon in Boston Please ?
I'm in England $5.85/US Gallon Here.
My Discovery 4.0 V8 Has LPG Fitted = $2.20/ US Gallon.

By a long shot it would have to be the Discovery for me as I've driven those things and they are fantastic, used to own one in that colour shown but was a 5 seater. Ended up selling it as it was just too much to run as fuel isn't cheap and the insurance and tax is an issue aswell.
If your gonna have a discovery 2 for off roading a V8 is the one to go for but if your just doing long distance cruising it's gotta be the TD5 diesel version.

I have a Disco and Audi A6. I sold the Audi because it was too small for me. I would not buy another Audi. Just keeping my 1999 Discovery

Yeah the only way a Disco 2 is going to hit 90 is if you drop it from a helicopter.

My 2002 Audi Allroad V6tdi 2.5 auto will easily top 125mph, the V8 is a true 140mph autobahn cruiser

Idk about the audi engine but the discovery 2 v8 is basically the same v8 as the 1st gen discovery (some changes to intake/ exhaust manifolds and pistons) which is a very old engine at this point (an old buick v8 from the 70s) so apart from head gasket issues it can live pretty much for ever.
