0-30 in 5seconds is amazing. Also timed one your runs 0-37 in 7 seconds. My ebike is a very torquy 20x4, 18 amps. 0-20 in 6 seconds with 200w pedaling. The 70amps of controller is everything here. Amps is where all the torque comes from. You're absolutely right that acceleration/torque is at least 5x more important than top speed. Getting ahead of traffic, or quickly passing is everything in urban environment. You don't get a half mile stretch to wait until 40mph gets hit.
Yep, the acceleration is most fun for me anyway.

I cant believe those speeds. Thats awesome. I hit 67kph, thats about 41-42mph going down a steep hill, and i thought that was crazy fast. I can only imagine doing that on a flat. Wow!! Love the vids man!! Im the dude with the havoc xtreme from fabulous 😊
I just received the Fabulous Havoc X2 step thru US version, I'm 280lbs and and got it to 35 MPH before chickening out... it's my first ebike and just trying to get a feel for it before pushing it too hard. Have to add the customer service at Fabulous is TOP NOTCH and the owner answers calls at all times and is extremely helpful AND patient...
Just be careful of turning when you are using the throttle. Ease off for turns, even if you feel like you have grip. That's just hub motor ebikes in general.
I absolutely love my Freedom. I know the Ariel Rider Keplar is a closest competitor for speed and still looking like a bike. I really looked at like the Rev1 and Xclass but the moped style draws more attention
When he said the Freedom was $2k it became my top choice if I ever get the budget or if a friend asks about a fast ebike.

I have a NB power 750 watt, 35 amp controller, 52v 16ah battery for the front. And the rear is stock x-class setup with a extra 52v 20ah battery with a battery blender. Thanks for the inspiration!

I love your channel and all of your fast bike are utilizing hubs motors. You always seemed to enjoy your Biktrix X mid drive because of the torque the motor gave. I think if you did a mid drive BBSHD build with an external controller and 72V you would be amazed how much torque is actually possible at the rear wheel without wasting energy with front tire spin. I know mids are hard on components but those can always be upgraded. When your motor is spinning over 12,000 rpm’s and your climbing a hill it’s a complete rush!!! Keep up the great work👍
I definitely enjoy the Hubs more, I love shifting a motorcycle but hate shifting a bicycle. With the dual hubs it is a constant acceleration from stop to top speed and not as hard on chain etc.

I hear what your saying but with a hi powered mid you could do single speed and never need to shift with all the torque and speed you would ever want for a bicycle.

Most of the speed improvements have gone into the moped style e-bikes especially since most of the newer ones can go 30-40mph+ but they can still run into issues with the law depending on the area since regular mopeds need to be registered and insured and they look exactly like them with the bench seats.

@@-.O.- Where I live since anything over 250w is illegal without it being road registered as a motorbike so I pretty much just put everything with peddles into the same category. Didn't realise you guys classify them differently tbf
@axeami1354 It's basically just different degrees of gray area since enforcement and laws are more lax in the US.
An honest reviewer with knowledge of bikes, you'd know your stuff & that's why I enjoy the videos you put out 👌 .
The Citizen Cycle is at it's top speed for the voltage. When a DC motor reaches its RPM per volt rating, it doesn't try anymore, so to increase your speed you need to up the voltage. Your specific controllers can be programmed for 52 volts, but I forget if you already went to 52v or are still at 48v. The Bandit has a VIN and can be registered as a fully legal moped, and that frame is one of the toughest around. I know of one that was in a head on collision with a car, and it only bent the front fork.

I pulled the trigger on a wired freedom last week. now the long long wait until sometime in august. lol.
I think,with dual drive motor, you will gain the torque and acceleration, but not the speed unless you have a built-in gearbox to convert the torque to speed.
I have my own dual throttle build! I hit 40 plus MPH all throttle down hill! Just started my channel and will be uploading my total build. I have a Juiced Bike 2022 Rip Current S with upgraded controller and Ebikling 1200W front wheel motor.
Thanks for posting a link to the battery. They make some tiny ones that can fit inside the triangle of dual suspension bikes. I was going to make my own but it looks like I don’t have to now.
That pocket rocket battery has worked well for me. And you can also buy a bracket to hold it in a bottle accessory mount.

My Keteless K800 has duel 1000w motors and 22amp controllers and is good for 35mph with a 300lb rider. 45 mph if you peddle. I'm waiting on second battery and blender before upgrading the controllers. Thanks for the videos they make making an educated guesses much easier. LOL

What is the role of the ''blender'' on Ebike? also, how does getting a larger controller on the K800 benefit your dual motor set up exactly? (you think your going to increase top speed with it?)
@@flolou8496 the second motor add a good 5 or 10 mph to the top speed plus doubles your torque for acceleration and hill climbing. The difference is night and day when you kick on the second motor. I currently have a controller running to each motor that is set to 22 amps but the controllers are capable of 30 amps each. Currently my battery is a limiting factor because it's only capable of 44 a continuous output. The battery blender allows you to connect two or three batteries effectively doubling or tripling the amount of current you can safely send to your control or controllers without damaging your battery. I'm currently getting a little over 2,000w I should have about 3,000w when I'm done.
I would love to see you do another build. Like a fixed tail Mountain bike with CYC Pro gen 3 motor and big battery. Then compare that with your existing 40+mph bikes. I ask for entirely selfish reasons because this is where I am at. Debating doing another build myself with the CYC motor vs just buying one of those fast/powerful fat tire bikes like the wired bike.
This is a great idea. If you welded all 4 ebikes together you could have a 160mph ebike that's 5mph faster than my Bandit 1200, weighs about as much and has 4 times the footprint. You wouldn't have an ebike, you'd have an E-battleship. Now that would be awesome!

40 miles an hour club. Have you considered the super crown monarch and especially the super crown monarch 1500. Would love to see your take. Looks Like eunorau has contenders. A comparison video between the ones I mentioned above and wired and fabulous would be awesome and entertaining content. You could do it like football playoffs. Set up the rules for comparison. Match two bikes and have a winner. Do it for several episodes. Then have the winners co.petr against each other. Then a the supper bowl show where you rank all of them. Football also has the Dick Butkus for line backers. You can have a super bowl winner, but also winners in individual categories vs overall. Examples: best top speed, or range, or hill climb. You do excellent work. All the best!

I have a SMLRO V3 dual 1000 watt motor twin 25 amp controllers that you should check out. It has a total of 164 NM of torque. Really fun ride.

For relatively more efficient high-speed cruising, but hill climbing ability, would a geared hub motor on the front and a direct drive in the rear work well for that application?
using a direct drive for high speed cruising and a geared hub for hill climbing would definitely work but finding geared hubs that fit front drop outs spacing is tough, plus the forks have to be strong enough to handle the torque. probably better/easier to reverse the set up.

A question about the spark bike. What do you do for racks (front rack or back rack) on the Spark? Does the company have options for mounting anything or is this a backpacker bike?

Look forward to your review on the Bandit. If you could figure out how and show us how to change the speeds in the pedal assist , would be great. Mine is wierd? Pedal assist 1 doesn't seem to work at all. Pedal assist 2 takes me right up to 20 mph, then 23/24 in pedal assist 3, same speed in #4, and gets into the 30's in pedal assist 5. Just wish there was a way to set my preferred speed for each pedal assist mode. On a side note I have a killer custom seat ordered for mine, and have a metal fabricator making a new seat mount to fit the old Bandit seat to my Cyclone.
I haven't dug into the settings yet, let me see what i can find out.

I've been enjoying your videos for some time now. Have been fighting the urge to get the Wired Freedom since I'm running out of room with the 5 ebikes I already have. I know I will get some flack for saying this, but I'm sure we are heading towards more regulations and less freedom with all these new more powerful and not to regulation ebikes. Again, I like the fun as much as the next guy, but I feel quite confident that when people start noticing ebikes tooling around at 30 to 40 MPH there will be a crackdown. Over the last 5-6 years of owning ebikes I have already had confrontations with citizens and authorities and make a habit of carrying a copy of the law with me as even some of the authorities don't know it. There is another channel I watch, which I shall not name, and he posts video of himself flying down the road, cutting through traffic, running stop signs, riding at rather high speeds through crowds of people. By contrast CitizenCycle picks more rural settings and is much more careful and conservative and I don't have a problem with that at all. But..................... So be offended or bad mouth me if you must, let's meet up again in a couple of years and see if I'm right. I'll be shocked if we don't start seeing more "No Ebikes Allowed" signs and more crackdown from authorities. If not I'll be the first to admit I was wrong. And I hope I am!!!!
Agree, I'm trying to have fun while you still can without hassle. I try to be cautious with my speed, try to keep it to open areas and I don't weave in and out of traffic at all. I try to blend in and be a bicycle as much as possible.
I agree that the more fast Ebikes get out on the bike paths regulations to restrict and ticket their use will multiply. I think labeling ebikes that can be ridden fast is prejudicial. someone

@@larryheaton689 Agreed. Just because you have an 800 HP car doesn't mean you should be pulled over for no other reason. Reality is that nothing has changed since my elementary school days ( and I'm 70). A few bad actors and everyone pays. It happened at my local surf break where I am very cautious when children are playing in the shallows. Someones board got loose and hit a kid and now we all have to wear leashes or risk getting thrown out of the park. Same deal with flying drones. A couple of people made some bonehead decisions and now everyone has to have "remote i.d." so that your drone can be quickly identified in the air. And so it goes on.................

Have to say the DIY and the rest of your collection is undeniably impressive! WoW!! And what I am about to mention is in NO way meant to be unkind or jealous in ANY way! Envious, in a good way, without doubt--but NOT to in any way imply that you are some frivolous "1 percenter" with money to burn. Oh, it is obvious that whatever profession you are in--that you are making a very to considerably up-scale living... this easy to tell by the neighborhood you live in, and the set up of and in your workshop/garage! It's obvious and needless to say! lol. So congrats and more power to you. However, the situation for most of the rest of us, is not going to be able to compile/collect anything such as what you can do, financially. Hey, it's all good! You're not "lording it over" those of us who view your videos. You're just a cool cat who is presenting you hobby and enthusiasm to us with the best intentions. Rock on! Just one thing: since your lifestyle and income is beyond most of the means/ability of the rest of us...we might be able to afford one or if very fortunate, possibly two E-bikes. Sooo...if you could recommend what you'd consider to be one bike for "blast off" fun, and, one that is just excellent as a fine "overall"/versatile bike--through not in the "moped" style. Something in either category that is more practical (lol) and comfortable for regular use and enjoyment. I have a 1500w rear hub converted Gary Fisher 2007 bike with the stock 1500w controller. 26 inch tires only 2" wide It goes over 30mph gets there so fast as I work up through the gears pedaling. I know with a bigger controller it could go faster but I'd need to secure the rear wheel much better to want to do that. I already call that bike widowmaker as-is because I've been thrown off it at 15mph onto my chest. On the grass at least. (a bit of sidewalk was removed and left with deep sand. damn urban decay & neglect!)

2:20 It's 48v that's limiting your top speed.
Generally speaking a single unrestricted hub motor (48v 750w-1000w) will top out low 30's possibly up to 35mph with high power controller, a 52v about 2 mph higher. Higher amperage controllers and duel motors will give more torque to overcome wind resistance adding 2-4mph. But to go significantly faster you have to increase voltage, (60v - 40mph) (72v - 50mph)

Have you ridden or know of the Electric Bike Company's bikes out of California?. They will build several models with Dual Hub Motors, Dual Batteries, Dual Controllers, and Dual Thumb Drives. They are set up for power and distance without any tweaking. They are one of the few e-bikes truly built in the USA.
May not sound like much to standard super bike or chopper riders.
But on a bike frame goinf that fast is a rush man.
My homemade one can do 45mph but can push 50 if i enable flux weakening.
And im already used to it and want to go faster.

Are those Bafang G 60 hub motors on the Citizen dual set-up? I have that on the rear of my Sondors Mad Mod 48v 750w moped style. I'm stock still with the 25a controller with stock Panasonic 21 ah battery. I'm getting 33-34 mph with the wheel programmed as a 16 though it has 24s. If I upgrade to a 35a controller with display could I get a few more mph maybe 38 mph keeping everything else stock? Or because I'm stuck at 48v will I get just some more torque only. Or is it a bit too much for the G 60 motor? My stock display broke and it's 250 to replace while I can source the more powerful after market 35a controller with display for 80 bucks delivered from Risun Motor. Your thoughts would be super appreciated good sir!
How would one go about changing controllers in a premade bike? I have an Aventon Aventure V1 and I hate the lag on take-off. I want the instant acceleration like the Wired..or should I just sell my Aventon and Buy the Wired Freedom?
The trick with the Aventon bike would be finding a bigger controller that would fit inside the frame. It's such a nice build. I'd hate for you to chop it up. Probably better off selling it and getting something else. Aventon's a great bike though, I still have mine. My wife rides it, she loves it.
The Spark bike the last one you showed. Has massive room for much bigger battery pack. If i own it. I would be putting a much bigger battery pack on it. I currently building a battery pack. Battery pack size is 14 x 14 each has 4.35 volts @ 4500 mah cell for total of 196 cells. That front chain ring like a 68 tooth ring. I would like you to try 78 oval chain ring. if it will fit onthe bike to see what kind of power you can get of the bike
I got a great inexpensive 40mph DIY Ebike part list here. First. the donor bike frame is a Home depot camp survival mountain bike. for around $175 you get front suspension and all round disk brakes and a good frame for hanging gear. VoilaMart 1500 watt 48 volt 26 inch electric bike conversion kit with the LCD display $ 350. Hailong 48 volt 20 ah 1600 watt Panasonic triangle battery $ 360. Then I added Special Opts BMX handle bars. I weigh 200 lbs and do 35 mph with ease and top out at 40 plus on the flats tucked in. When I use the PAS level 2, I cruise at 21 miles per hour for 30 miles. Level 3 PAS and higher can climb any hill. any hill. PS .Tires make a big difference think of where you will be riding the bike the most and look for the proper tires. I live in a metro area so I need good street tires that don't burn up at 35mph I prefer Maxxis Hook Worms and Eastern BMX tires. Less than a $1000 and stupid fun and fast.
Im in the same boat as you. Fixed tail Mountain bike with Bafang conversion motor. thinking about upgrading to the CYC Pro Gen 3 motor for huge speed. I also have a lectric folding bike for taking on trips. But you have to admit those fixed tail 40 milers that Citizen has look tempting. Especeally that wired bike.

Fun vid. When doing the AWD bikes, if you consistently ‘weight-forward’ on the bike, it levels the comparison and makes full use of the (advantage) of AWD. The tire spin may be novel, but such a waste of the whole ‘bang’ of AWD.
Not a fan of bling (e.g. spoke covers), but to each their own. Aesthetics are subjective, always.

It’s too bad that so many of the higher performing eBikes are So Fugly …. I suppose that is where the conversation of “Form vs. Function” occurs. I put 2 old 36v 500 watt ebikeling kit on my old trek, map my ride clocked me at 37.5 MPH, holy smokes, kinda scary for a bicycle.
Would appreciate a discussion of controllers and longevity. E.g. Obviously controllers are inexpensive relative to the motors and batteries, so it would be relatively straightfoward for all companies to run higher current to get more power out of the motors - what are the considerations then for running a 17 amp versus 40 amp controller with similar motors as these compamies, and you, have chosen to do and what are the ramifications. Other topics: nylon versus metal gears and the pros/cons. 60V versus 52V. Battery capacity and range powering 2 smaller motors versus 1 large one.
I think this kind of content would be very helpful to those choosing e-bikes and trying to decide between so many choices out there (and not being discussed by most reviewers when comparing bikes). This is particularly relevant because the 4 bikes in this video spans this gamut.
Interesting comment thanks, Might be a great topic for a separate video. The fabulous bike runs smaller controllers because they are drawing from 1 battery. They don't want to discharge it too fast. My custom bike has a separate battery for each controller/motor so I can run higher current. I'm sure the metal reinforced gears in the wired are stronger, would love to put that motor in my bike but I believe it is wider and won't fit in most fat tire dropouts..
@@CitizenCycle925 very interested in the Fabulous EXT bikes running 60V. Lighter, more nimble versions of the Freedom and Road Warrior bikes in the single and dual motor configurations, respectively. And going with the BMX type frame, it better avoids the moped/motorcycle perception of 26" and scrambler-type frames. Those bike could be dominant in acceleration and handling especially if they go with a shorter less-adjustable stem and BMW-style handlebars for a stiffer steering rack.

Love your channel. This one is expensive but I'd love to see a review of the biktrix Juggernaut XD Duo. 2000 watt mid drive bike. Keep up the great work. I have an aventon aventure and love it but I am considering a biktrix or wired freedom as my next bike.

Biktrix Juggernaut XD Duo, and Juggernaut Classic desperately need a torque sensor.
I couldn't see what type of torque arm(s) you have on the front system. Hopefully robust. I built a bike with a "1000w" (30 amp, 52V) DD throttle, 350w (15 amp, 36V) front PAS and it was a blast. Top speed 35 mph, accelerated really well.
I'm not running ay torque arms, just the torque washers, has held up well so far.
@@CitizenCycle925 I hope we never read about the aluminum dropouts on the bike failing. Front crashes aren't fun. Years ago I had a couple off road when my front tire basically exploded (MTB, no "e") and fortunately I flipped on my back and Was not injured.

I built a 35-40mph 26 inch fat bike for 1700$ with the ebikeling 26inch fat bike 1500watt kit, pit on a mongoose malus frame, 40 amp controller ,only needed few extra parts with 20 amp hour upp battery
My ebike does 40 its dyi i used a 750 mid drive and 1500 direct drive hub and dual 52v 20ah batteries. Great acceleration hits 35 in seconds

My diy disability scooter, made from parts on hand or obtainable s. Goes 37 and that's scary on a 12" front wheel so i.m building an 20" wheels one with pedals now. Maybe direct drive 16" in front geared 20" rear

Both the wallke awd and the ecells awd are supposed to be 40 mph , and from what i can gather some of the single motor ecelss are 40 mph , plus the anioki a8 is supposed to do 45 mph
I may be wrong but looking at the light reflection in the camera shot on that new bike reveal, looks like your top tube has a dent in it already! Stuck out right away to me. Hope its jyst an illusion but it looks like a pretty noticeable dent. Seeing you are into the bling of your bikes, feel kind of bad for you. Definitely love bike bling as well as function just like you. A dent would druve me bonkers. (Like handle bars that aren't perfectly straight.) I would just lose sleep over a dent on a new bike. Hope you are more relaxed about flaws than I am.

I checked your channel reviews and did not see a review of the Eunorau Defender S Dual hub motor e-bike. Since it has dual Bfang 750-watt geared hub motors, dual suspension and can add a second battery - it should be worth checking out.
glad to see they now have a 750w motor on the front, it used to be a 350w on the front. very small battery feeding two motors is not good, and there is not button or switch to turn off front motor, it is awd all the time, that's not good idea..
@@CitizenCycle925 My Defender S has the 3-way switch, the left side is only the back motor. The middle is both motors and the right switch is the front motor only. I did add the second battery because I sometimes like the power of both motors and that takes battery, lots of battery.
