It is (most likely) part of a accessibility standard (like WCAG), just like voice to text, colorblind mode, and other things of that variety. It helps people with low vision be able to distinguish items and read text easier, and just makes the game more accessible to these folks. The more you know!

My biggest wish for future updates would either be new End biomes or a way to access the closed portal in the Ancient City, adding a 4th dimension to the game.
I think it should be a "threshhold" instead of a portal, that would allow you to traverse to a hidden plane thats layered in the same dimension as the existing overworld (could call it the underworld). Think of it as being like the Upside Down. Same dimensional space, different plane of existence. Maybe even a new block or item that would let you glimpse into the other plane.
Agreed. Would have loved to see them. My first impressions with archaeology are that the brush mechanism might get stale quickly but at least the loot can be good early game. Found two diamonds in one temple which would be exciting if I came across a desert early in survival. I hate to say it but sniffer noises get grating quick for me.

The only thing I want from Minecraft right now, is the ability to stack different slabs together. Like, putting a stone slab on a wood slab. Or different types of wood.
I exclusively use the mizuno texture pack. It looks amazing and has an awesome mechanic with slabs. Most half slabs can be stacked, 2 of the same type, but it creates a totally different block than just a full regular one. It’s so cool!
I agree; it always feels like vanilla MC is just this close to having all you could need but it’s missing those extra little featured.
