    Gen 4 revo x is a winner. I have 4 and they've served me well...still going strong too.

    For sure can’t compete with any of the mainstream offerings from Shimano and Daiwa
    But still nice reels, it’s good to see other companies coming out with new models

    No matter how you look at it abu Garcia has their place as any other reel manufacturer personally abu's are work horses I've owned every brand out there they all have a place no need for negativity.

    At the price point I think that revo sx rocket will be a good seller. I’ve got a few revos my rocket and winch are good for what they are designed for but the feel of them compared to shimano just feel like they will fall apart although I never have issues with them. I spoiled myself with a Metanium and now I want to change all my reels out to them.

    I really like my Abu reels. First bait caster was my revo x I believe 4 years ago and it’s still runs great to this day. Saw it on sale as bass pro and picked it up for $60. The new models have a good body design. I believe it’ll be a very comfortable style or reel to hold, but why take away the aluminum frame and still have it priced higher???? Might have to skip over it and go straight to the sx

    I was never a fan of the revo spinning reels but it seems like they put all their effort into the new spinning reels. 2 steps forward for the spinning reels and 2 steps back for the casting reels. This gen I'll be skipping the casting reels and checking out the spinning SP models. The Winch SP looks really nice.

    Wow Carbon Frame for 120 bucks? I have an Older Orra sx and man I absolutely love that Reel and would like to try the Revo if I can happen upon one second hand. I like the new offerings but a little outta my wheelhouse lol.

    Just picked up the abu revo 5 sx and I'm not liking the ivcb-4 brakes so far. I'll give it another go tomorrow but as it stands right now the brakes are far more difficult to tune then the mag breaks on my revo x.

    I have not been a fan of the revo since the Gen 2 gen 3 killed it for me the American revos just had never been as good now that JDM ones were awesome well the mgx was the mg extreme 2 and then of course all of the JDM one but in my opinion lose has just surpassed after Garcia as far as I'm concerned even though they're coming out the same factory

  • @Jest_Fishing
    @Jest_Fishing Год назад

    They look cheap. They are assuming you will buy them because of the name brand on the reels. I guess we all should have been expecting this from Pure Fishing. They just can’t help but dilute a good brand. It was a good run. RIP Pflueger. I’m waiting on them to pull the plug on you. I bought two 5.4:1 Gen 4 Revo X’s while they were still available. Those will be the last Abu reels I will ever purchase.

  • @michaelkolbe5963
    @michaelkolbe5963 Год назад

    They should focus on lower gear ratios cause not everyone likes braid it's also harder with a high gear ratio to crank bait using mono .Limit reels they have for guys like me to use cause the only one I've found is the Revo Winch with 5:4.1 but no high end reels . Probably forces to buy used reels and rebuild other than buying new cause they seem to cater to Tournaments and left the average angler out of the equation .

    It really bothers me how the Doyo brands like to take advantage of ignorant buyers, they constantly come out with carbon body reels that they charge in some cases nearly $200! They sell the lews Mach models by the boat load ranging anywhere from $70 to $180 and they're no better than kastkings $40 reels, and don't get me started on the zeta. I did break down and buy an mgx2 because i wanted something smaller than my mgl 70, it was barely worth its price tag even being magnesium. Now you take into account what they want for the Lews elite ti and the Abu Zenons, they have straight up lost it!

    • @THEREELTEST
      @THEREELTEST  2 года назад +1

      I might be able to get my hands on that new Lews Elite Ti.. hopefully Doyo has taken their engineering to another level with that reel, but we wont know until it comes out

      I don’t think Abu or Lew’s will ever go away…. There’s still a lot of pro anglers who are sponsored and advocate the brands just like Shimano and Daiwa. Besides Abu is still the big three brands that dominate in the bass industry and there is Abu Japan, Abu Korea and other international influence like Australia and Europe. Quantum would be a good example that is dying out slowly…
