Thank you for explaining the timeline of the development of the Bible. Honestly I tend to space out during my local church's homily and I end up here to get more out of the homily.
1000 years is a LONG LONG time. Very long. Having visited church in Arles France from around 1100 it’s hard to wrap my brain around 1000years before that ! 🛐✝️💟🙋♀️🙏🏻🇺🇸☮️
Catholic St Jerome was the first one to compile the various bible books into one book. When he compiled them he did not compile them with Chapter and verse. If i remember right and what i heard was right, He translated the bible into 5 or 6 languages. The Bible is only here today because Catholics preserved it. Peter told us (paraphrasing) "Know you not that any prophecy of Scripture came to us not by any private interpretation of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit". And elsewhere i think it was Paul who tells us (again paraphrasing) "I thank God that you receive it (the word of God) for what it is, The Word Of God". And elswhere Paul says about it, "Which is able to save you". St Jerome said "Ignorance of Scripture is ignorance of Christ ". Read the Word of God daily. It will not hurt you. Yes its words might cut you to the depths of your soul, but it will either save you or condemn you on judgement day. Yes Read it, but more importantly Do it! DO THE WORD OF GOD, "it is not the hearers of the Word who are found just in His (Gods) sight, but the doers of the Word". The original KJV (King James Version) Had all the Catholic books in it when it was written. But those books were set between the old Testament and the New Testament. Some time after 1611 they said take them out. Then at around 1630 they said to put them back in. I heard it said that the reason those books were a problem, was because Hebrew Speaking Jews did not write them. Those books were supposedly written by Greek speaking Jews. Thus the Hebrew speaking Jews did not accept them as cannon. But the early Church always used them.
I really enjoyed this talk, father. I enjoy you sharing your life and work. You are a true example. One this you miseed in your little history review of the church, and that was the Orthodox split. If they rejected Romes authority like the Protestants did, then why are the Orthodox not considered the original Protestants?
What about the documented appearances and miracles of the Blessed Virgin Mary at Lourdes, France, at Fatima, Portugal and at Garabandal, Spain? They are not in the real Bible or in sacred tradition, but actually happened, that were witnessed, filmed and recorded.
Tell your protestant friends to leave their man made protestant CULTS and come home. There’s NO salvation outside the holy Catholic Church because it’s the ONLY CHURCH.
@simonslater9024 that's funny. They hate Catholics. The won't admit it. But they do. The whore of Babylon. I think that's what they say. And my jew friends think you all worship the devil. Sound's about Right. The primates are evil. For me I still keep a open mind. There's always hope. Giggle. Giggle
The early Catholic Church father’s inspired by the Holy Spirit chose which 73 book’s would make up the Catholic Bible. You are wrong and please leave your man made protestant CULT that serves Satan
Thank you Father 🙏💞😇😍😊🙏

He is the real deal. IMHO. Isn’t he. 🙋♀️☮️🙏🏻🇺🇸❤️🛐

They are scriptural because they add nothing to the Bible and tradition.
Luke had to be written before the Romans destroyed the Temple, otherwise Luke would have mentioned it.
Thanks Father. Next time I chat it up with my churchie Friends I'll bring up that Catholics wrote the Bible. Is that the rub. Works. ? Hmmmm.

Muhammad said Allah inspired the quran. Not God. Allah is not God. I maybe wrong but none of God's 1000s of names Allah wasnt one of them
The way we say God, they say Allah. It says Allah in christian bibles in the middle east
Ethiopian Bible has 88 books. When translated to English it is way more in depth than ours they say
I’d rip up that heretical bible. There’s ONLY ONE Bible and that’s the Catholic Bible.
@simonslater9024 you can't rip up God's word just cause there's more books the books came from the Latin Vulgate which is the Hebrew Tanak.
All bibles come from the Hebrew tanak that is a catholic book all bibles are catholic
Thank God it wasn't written by the rcc.
