    I also cleaned the corrode battery post and terminal on this video:

    My 2016 corolla was idling at ~500 rpms when the AC was on.. and subsequently stalling. I cleaned the Throttle body without removing it. And now it idles smooth @ 800 rpms even when the AC is on. Thanks for the video. It only costs me $10 for the Throttle cleaner.

    Just came from the Toyota Stealership and wanted $229.00 bucks to do what you demonstrated. Can’t trust Stealerships any longer. I will do this myself😎😎😎😎Thank you for sharing this

      Sorry my earlier reply was to someone else for the brake job. Can’t believe they quote that high for a simple spray cleaning work. This is so easy to do. Thanks for the feedback.

      @@DIYLifeSkills same here a couple months ago. It's been on my list to get taken care of since then. I've seen other people take the whole throttle body off and clean it, but this seems to be sufficient enough, maybe a little tougher to get in there with space, but easier in the long run than fighting with the hoses and wiring harness.

    • @DIYLifeSkills
      @DIYLifeSkills  2 месяца назад

      @@pacman836 It is best to remove to clean the backside, but you can clean 90% or more of the backside without removing it, which is more than sufficient. And later when you have to replace the valve cover gasket, you’ll have to remove TB, so you can do a deep cleaning then.

    Thanks for this video! I'd like to also add that if your vehicle is still idiling rough after throttle body re-learn process may be helpful to change the PCV Valve when this part is clogged it starts increasing the engine pressure which translate into higher RPMs.

    The throttle cleaning agent is a lacquer thinner, so just buy a lacquer thinner because that is what I am using. Effective and cheap

    • @DIYLifeSkills
      @DIYLifeSkills  7 месяцев назад

      That’s Ok in TB as long as spray doesn’t spill outside or use a rag to wet it vs. spraying. But don’t use that on MAF as its sensitive electronic contacts can be damaged.

    I removed my throttle body also and cleaned the backside. It was very dirty from the back. I would highly recommend you do this. Your going to have to disconnect the battery because you moved the plate and it will go to high rpms and wont drop even when warmed up.

    • @DIYLifeSkills

      Removing the TB to clean is the best. However, cleaning it in place is fine for most cars. I've done it to about dozen cars, only one had brief slight high RPM, but upon idle relearn it settled back down.

    • @promek17
      @promek17 3 года назад +2

      @@DIYLifeSkills yes..ive done it to mine while in place.. but this time it didnt help so i had to remove and clean it thoroughly. Now it purrs like a kitten. Also i didnt disconnect my battery,but upon starting the idle wouldnt drop wven with idle relearn.. so i had to disconnect the battery for a couple of minutes then idle dropped to normal.

      @@promek17 Good job. How many miles do you have? I'm thinking of changing PCV valve in the near future. My son's Corolla is approaching 90K miles on original PCV. I think it's due.

    hello my friend, i have a question, my Lexus GS300 2007, when you turn on your car A/C do water comes from the drainage, cus i can not see any drops under the car nor inside under the carpet, so i wonder why there is no A/C water drops, all my cars i can see water under the car it is an A/C water, but this GS300 i do not see any

      Hmm, all AC must have water drain. That said, it seems that I do recall seeing seeing a lot of more water coming from my Murano SUV than GS300.
      It’s raining here hard, but I’ll give it a closer look later today when rain stops.
      Are you not seeing any water drop with AC use for like 10 minutes?
      If not, is your AC producing cold air?
