People take for granted the clean profession sound that SU has. That takes a lot of work, talent and commitment! It just doesn’t happen at a snap of your fingers. SU band is awesome!!
The Best Band In The Land............the Dancing Dolls, the kind of young ladies that'll dance in front your parents and grandparents and not be embarrassed. Just classy and 💙💛💙💛💙💛

They sound good. I noticed that SU has been beefing up on the number of sousaphones and also piccolos, there are a lot of them. Interesting. The Dolls always look polished.
This is the band that HBCU.Andscape rated #9 last year. That was a lie & proof that fools can speak. It PISSES ME OFF b/c Mr. Taylor said it negatively affects their recruitment. Southern said, "I see you. I got you. We KNOCKIN HEADS OFF." LAWD, THEY GOT DA BEAST CRANKED all the way up!!! Weekends can't get here fast enuf!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG! I need a drink.

I like Southern, and especially the Dolls, but putting instruments on the ground while dancing looks so hokie/pokie. Nobody "blows" harder and louder than they do. The consistency in that regard is always there....good job!
Putting horns on the ground is our tradition
No different from bands dancing and not blowing just holding horns
We put more emphasis on marching

Hunters Lane v.s. Shaw High School Marching Band - 2015
This was a cool show. It was about what you expect from SU. It was a standard SU show. It was good. I'm not sure it's on the level of all the hype I was hearing
JSU sound better
I love SU..... but..... this field show couldn't win a high-school botb.... this drill was almost non existent... they basically walked across the field... Doc Greggs would NEVA show up to a BOTB with anything less than a first place performance. He would NEVA give another band the opportunity to out drill the Jukebox....NEVER!!!
