I really appreciate the effort you put into researching all this. Think at some point you could make a similar video for the Rock Band pro drums score progression? That also has quite the history behind it.
legslikepistonz was literally introduced with a picture of playing actual drums at 7:25 lol EDIT: and in general the pattern I've noticed is it's the other way around, *most* GH/RB drums players I've met were drummers before they even tried playing the game lol
Most if not all experienced RB/GH drummers are actually real drummers. Most of the wildest FCs are from metal drummers because the charts are so technical that a casual player wouldn't be able to pull them off lol. The drumming skills do translate to RB/GH drums pretty well, take it from someone who's an average drummer and my playing was pretty similar when I tried the video game drums.
Just a side note about Marbler... he was actually the first ever Full Series FC on Expert Guitar from GH1-GHWoR. Just to put his accomplishments in more perspective, lol. Great video as always!
Those Guitar Hero/Clone Hero Score Progression videos are really on another level. Great job as always Can't wait for GH3 video. This is probably the last game that was competitive enough to even go through some first ever FCs (mb WoR too but not 100% sure). One and TDWDTG took a whole year to be FCed, if I'm not mistaken.
I like knowing the significance of what I used to think were "random guitar hero drum FC's" I would have watched about 4, 5 years ago. Knowing more about the Rock Band setlist would also be pretty interesting to see too
I always found drum fc's significantly more interesting than guitar fc's I mean guitar fc's are hard, but drums is definitely the hardest instrument to play entirely because you have to mentally separate your limbs which a lot of people can't do, and that isn't even mentioning the techniques you need to do to help get the fc
I played the drums on these games but eventually went back to real drums. They were pretty much like playing the drums in real life but more difficult imo. I'd rather just play a synthetic or real drumset if I'm going to grind like that lol
Trying to have Warriors of Rock appeal to the experienced crowd and giving us Expert Bass charts like Wish, I Know What I Am, and Pour Some Sugar On Me.
Oh my god I had no clue the Shortest Straw did that with the double bass in Warriors of Rock. Yeah fuck me I ain’t doing that. I can’t even play Disconnected without flaming out quickly.
I was surprised to hear that Bloodlines was the final WoR song to be taken down, I felt like FotS would take a bit longer. Honestly, I feel like a lot of songs were taken out much sooner than I would've thought. I could make a "Haha, Joel can FC Shortest Straw" joke here, but 127 triple kicks is torture, so I'm just gonna say (assuming he finds this comment), Joel, I wish you great luck with Fury and Teacher. I'd love to see you get the 1st ever 5-lane X+ FSFC.
XxDeadlyLuisxX was a beast ! I met him on quickplay plus back on the WoR days legit as shit we fc’d nemesis (him on drums obviously me on guitar) and he sent me a friend request right after you just unlocked a fond memory in my brain holy shitt !!!!

As a guitar player I've always been intrigued by guitar hero drums and how one's drumming skills in GH would translate to real drums. Because especially compared to the guitars, the drums in GH are actually very realistic. It's basically the same as playing an E kit, and GH drums are kinda like what Rocksmith is to us guitar players. It might not teach you everything and it can't replace proper lessons and a instructor but it definitely teaches the basics. Playing on time, having all 4 limbs in perfect synergy and lasting an entire song. It's also an interesting practice tool for drummers with an E kit. I'm curious to see how many of these people who've done FCs on drums went on to the real thing or even join bands. I know only one case so far, the drummer of Counterparts used to do Rock Band FCs on YT
to me gh wor was the absolute best in the series, its such a shame it didn't sell much, I wish I had been into gh back in the day so I could have contributed at least a bit to the company
the guitar and bass isn't a great metric for the real thing but with drums it's something else, that gives you real feedback all though I do wonder what these player's real life drum skills are like before and after getting into the games.
From what I’ve heard, most of the top players were already drummers before playing RB/GH drums. I believe Acai actually plays drums in a real band after having started with RB drums.
It’s really encouraging to see this video, mainly because when I was younger, I felt like drums were the less cool instrument since people always focused on the guitar FCs. But now I see that the drummers are really a big deal! I guess it’s just not as big because it requires so much more physicality.
Something funny to see is that ihomer got an fc on LCDS the same day he received his copy of band hero. Interesting to think what might’ve happened if he was also sent WoR, maybe both charts would have been FCd faster
Is there any particular reason why they allowed 4 lane FCs and 5 lane FCs to be equal? Is it just because the note counts are identical even if they are placed differently?

@@bluebro827 I get that totally, I just feel that at this day and age I don't really know where you would go about asking for one. I also don't see a reason in putting so much effort into what I would personally define a niche song (especially since it's been FCd at this point)
It probably has to do with the missing bass note in the outro between the BH and GH:WoR versions. 1974 is the note count in WoR, but without that note it should be 1973 in BH. My guess is BH still counted that missing note for some reason and added it to the hit count lmao
So I think there is sort of something for the shortest straw, and it’s sort of official? I remember when I learned rock band drums and I plugged them into WoR there were drum lessons and advice that was built into the game. It counts because it is a method of play allowed by the game and doesn't necessarily make the charts themselves easier or harder, but there is a definitely hit window difference that I think has been looked over a lot over the years. The 5 lane vs 4 lane hit window differences are big enough that it took Space Truckin' an extra 8+ years to be FCed on 5 lane
