On Raglan Road" is a very well-known Irish song by Luke Kelly which originated from a poem written by Irish poet Patrick Kavanagh. Raglan Road is located in Ballsbridge, Dublin 4. It's about a love affair with a young woman who he would risk being hurt if he initiated a relationship with, he did so anyway.
The poem was put to music when the poet met Luke Kelly of the well-known Irish band The Dubliners

Personally think they would look better by wearing ither:
    A) Actual Irish tartan (although very few are documented).
    B) Old Irish dress, Leine, Brat, Ionar, Sgain, etc.
    C) Possibly have the Irish Warpipes made (Same sound as the Scottish bagpipes).

The first tune is actually "Dawning of the Day" which I believe is Scots in origin. The words are by Dubliner Patrick Kavanagh.

Though the origins of the Irish kilt continue to be a subject of debate, current evidence suggests that kilts originated in the Scottish Highlands and Isles and were worn by Irish nationalists from at least 1890 onwards and then cemented from the early 1900s as a symbol of Gaelic identity.

Hard to do when the Irish invented Scotland. Scotti or Scotus means Irishman. Uisce beatha, the pipes, the gaelic language, the surname mc or mac and the very DNA of modern Scots all come from the Irish, as does the Stone of Destiny. BTW tartan is not a scottish invention and nor is the modern kilt, which an Englishman invented.

@@TeleChannel An Englishman called Rawlinson invented the modern kilt. The old highland kilt is an evolution of the Irish leine.
