    I'm impressed with the Batallion Chief here, calmly guiding the driver through a tightass gap and keeping ontop of the paperwork and radio at the same time

    The ones in back are a Whelen Hi-Rise - they flip up to a vertical orientation and provide very tall warning to be seen for a long distance over traffic.

    It’s surprising how much technology had advanced in the past 10 years but the looks of the rigs, for the most part, looks the same.

    • @northfloridafire

      That's because most of the rigs are Seagrave and most Seagrave rigs look the same

    That is super video, thanks You for sharing! I am a member of theVoluntary Firefighter brigade and even honorary member of our response unit. Why honorary? Unfortunately, I went blind, when I was 15. I have been loving firefighting, firefighters, fire truck since my childhood. BTW, my movie no. 1 is Tower inferno. I closed great friendship with great men from this firebrigade few months ago. My chieff asked to others, they agreed and Vaclav (chieff of response unit) called me and tould: "Heeey, there is NO problem to join our brigade, You are also honorary member of our unit!" I could not believe my own ears! 100 % impossible, 100 % mirracle! I would never have believed that I could be so lucky! I am sure, that was simply will of our Lord, that this situation happened! I am focused to the service called Protection of the population, civil defense, which includes a huge range of activities that I can do with my handicap. I love these videos with firefighting, fire trucks firemen etc. Respect, love and greetings from Prague, stay safe and be healthy!

    Great vide, just like always, but am a little surprised that you guys actually numbered that bucket truck #13, guess you guys dont think tha't an unlucky number for you, really love it when you told that cube truck to move away from the Hydrent, I remember when I saw pics one time of a car that was parked in front of one at he fireman couldn't find the owner, so they literly put the hose straight through the drivers side window and out the passenger side window to the hydrent...

    Some siren controls are also built into the steering wheels or foot pedals on the floor. With Type 3 Medium pumpers in Vic you can press a switch with your foot to change from yelp to wail, and on some supports you press the horn and it changes the siren tone as well as activating the horn.

  • @Brothersinarms01
    @Brothersinarms01 11 лет назад +3

    It's not the safest, but in many departments, the siren control heads are built so that they are only accessible to the driver. In most cases, the siren is built in the middle of the cab so that either can work siren. Driver usually works srien in small departments. When I ride officer's seat, I work the siren usually unless a ranking officer is driving and tells me that they want to work siren.

  • @nick2293
    @nick2293 11 лет назад +7

    Either one can control the siren. I know me personally, if I'm in the passenger seat, I'll work the siren so that the driver can focus on the road.

    Yes. And for this one, its also programmed on the Driving Wheel Horn. Left May be a Siren Choice 1 and Right side may be Siren Choice 2 and Middle is Horn/Air Horn.

    Because it only make sense that it goes down from sections like... lower manhattan from duane st covering battery park and lower and some parts of chinatown... then battalion 2 covers the other west side... battalion 4 covers the lower east side... and not battalion 10 covering battalion 1's side... and where else are they going to stuff battalion 10.. no other vehicle could park inside 10 house.
