This happened to me on both diffs, swapped the original diff cases for the “tenacity all” ones that take 5x13x4 bearings instead and also installed original Japanese NTN bearings, runs like a charm now. Good job there!
Thanks for this follow up! I ordered those bearings (through your link) just now. Now I just need all of the OTHER parts to show up from Horizon (new tire(s), new front CVD). I hope I can rescue this thing, I love it too much just to give up on it, but MAN, I have no time for turds.
@@ExocagedRC Need that. I just snapped another. That makes three. Luckily, Horizon sent me 8 extras as part of my warranty claim. I'll be watching your channel for any sign of the Vitavon ones!
And I just broke the third. Just got in my Reefs servo and Exotek steering and was STOKED to rip this thing around... drove it 10 ft. and lost my THIRD drive shaft. All snapped off at the head.
Thanks for making me feel better about my bearing and case doing the same thing! Thought I did something wrong... Never would've found this solution on my own
I see that Tekno RC now has drop in driveshafts and out drives for this thing. I was waiting for something from Vitavon, but I’m going to try these. Put aluminum beadlocks on with some Hyrax to solve the wheel stripping issue, only to find that it made the stock driveshaft problem worse... which makes sense. Riding the upgrade train now. Next stop: hubs and carriers I bet.
I have the Tekno shafts in mine but I’ll be trying the Vitavon ones soon, bigger CVD’s bearings, hubs and knuckles. That’s a huge win IMO however I haven’t broken the Tekno shafts either.
Thanks for the info on the bearings. I have a couple older losi scte's that I have been modding to make them be something they are not intended to be, and have been having the same issue with the bearings melting through the gearbox. It looks like the lasernut gearbox case is very similar to the the scte (if not almost the same) and uses the same size bearings. I was going to get some ceramic bearings hoping that might address this, but after watching this i just ordered some of these DSM ones (and yes I click your link ;-) ) thanks for all your vids!
I just finished my Losi DB/T Pro build and it makes so much fun to drive. Great to see that the Lasernut is finally a sucess too👍 I'm really looking forward to that Vitavon upgrades 🤗
Great news! Just got my Lasernut and I'm running at 3s/14t gear until some of these aftermarket upgrades are available. You're doing a great job with your videos. Subscribed.
Im very happy with this truck on 3s and the 3s pinion personally so with that being said i think with these bearings and axles on a 3s with be reliable. This chassis handles to well to give up on this thing. I do know that vitavon makes parts to make these things bullet proof but i dont feel like spending a nother 500ish dollars.
"LaserTurd" made a comeback...with aftermarket parts (?!) Question is if its worth the frustration. "When its running its fine!" cannot be a business motto, right? Cheers and keep up the good work
All hobby grade RTR brushless cars I have bought ($350-$500 range) have had some issues with weak stock components. It is not a business motto, its a business model and it's not a new one either.
Thanks for the great video and explanation of every thing...A lot of help thank you...Can you tell me what the equivalent is in spectrum esc to the Castle Monster to help the esc issues? Thanks for your time sir...
Thank You DSM! ~;+}> That thing moves right along! I need to talk to my foreman at the school I work at to get a new vehicle to scare the geese off the field! ~:+o >
Nice run me and my brother go back and forth as to which one is better the DB pro or the lasernut would love to see you get your hands on a DB Pro and do a comparison
My lasernut has gone really slow? I have fitted the 14T gear and checked is on 100/75/50 highest setting? Feels like the timing is slow on the motor but didn't think it could be changed? Any advice 😊?
Hey Joe! Man, you and your channel are my absolute favorite! I appreciate all you do, Thank You! Im going to order those bearings. DSM is an awesome company, so i must say a thank you to them too! I love their bungie winch systems! (which i didn't consider until watching your video ;) thanks Joe!) Any way, awesome video my man! I always look forward to your videos. EXOCAGED is the best!
@@ExocagedRC ah okay. I would recommend turning the netural range down to the narrow setting and the start mode up to 7. Made it feel a bit more responsive
I have such a hard time keeping the wheels on mine. I am constantly spinning the wheels off and stripping the hex. I’ve got them cranked down tight, any suggestions?
Happend to me on one of the front wheels when spinning doing donuts. I thought I had them tight but you really have to crank them. I'll put some blue loctite on them as well now
I have to say the laser it really is one of the smoothest and most fun looking truck to come out this year I think. This thing looks like a blast on any surface. What's the stock motor kv compared to the one you are looking at putting in it? Also how is the FlySky gt3c for bashers? These last couple videos are literally making me finish putting my slash 4x4 together. Think I'm gonna throw that 3300kv trailmaster pro motor In it I grabbed from you a while back. I think it will do pretty good. Good video!
Just had my diff case fail. When I took it apart the bearing came out in pieces. This leads me to believe it is a bearing issue not the case. I just ordered the new bearings and we'll see how it does. BTW I trail this buggy don't bash with. Unacceptable..
Are other Losi models failing? They all use the same parts. Lasernut has a longer chassis, longer rear dogbone and huge tires. I did run alot of 4S mostly 3S
This is an EZ pass for me. I'll take the 8IGHT platform over this mess any day. You can turn the buggy into anything you want & it's completely bulletproof. Much better than dropping a ton of dough on this thing & even then will never come close to the awesomeness of that kit. Of course, you can get a MT410 & put a few upgrades on it & come out cheaper, but that kit can easily handle bashing like this with no upgrades except for the spur.
$479 plus another $300ish in parts just for durability????? no frickin way, man i really thought this car was gonna be a 'replacement' for my axial yeti so i could shelf it but not lookin so, i'll pass. Great video though;)

That thing was put down black marks! That's Awesome! It jumps so gracefully, well it looks graceful in the air that is. Really nice.
Astounding!😉 Nice, very good in much running smoothly 😊 LOSI LASERNUT never let you down, but gets back up for super upgrade, and a leap of faith 🎸🎶🤯🧙
Oh man I can't wait for the Vitavon Diff cases!! those will fix it up right!!

Hopefully we will see Vitavons new axles available for these, they are supposed to be drop in upgrade.

Great action, that diff. box seemed to rectify things, and maybe all you need is a hopped up one now, for that mo' powah!
Getting sorted now and looking good 👍👌👍

Cool. These are standard Tenacity gearboxes so when Vitavon makes them they should fit a bunch of vehicles.

Thank you man and welcome!
you were cracking up at the "balls touching each other" comment !
you are an amazingly skilled rc driver. great job with thtat losi.
Looks good out there! LOSB2421 is a great one for those nose dives. Bolt on, no modification to the 'Nut or the part is needed.
OOH, this is back in the running again yay. It's gone from naught (pun intended) to hell yeah. Love this thing. Move over Slash.
Runs beautiful now. 👍🏼
In my Losi the front differential also happened the same thing I had a new aluminum box made to see if the problem is solved🙏

I love mine, I run a hobbystar 3674 2650kv with a 3s and that thing is super fast. Motor temp stay at 170/190
its holding that motor good?
Yes it is
I just got one and blew the rear diff. Still cool but hopefully they address the weakness.
DSM off ROAD👍, I have been using
For a good bit, ,, love it👊,, good stuff,, too!
Looks good. Really looks like it could use a metal steering bell crank upgrade
Now that it appears to be surviving I can look at further mods.
Thanks for keeping the lasernut name alive cause it is one hell of a buggy wwwwwoooohhooooooo🏎

awesome bash 💯💯👍👍
Hey good video! i ordered a lasernaught yesterday, did i make the right choice over the Axial bomber?
I wanna grab one so bad, but have seen too many constant problems from people. Maybe I’ll get the DBXLE instead.
Hello, I'm looking for a bearing for the rear diff and front diff for the RC car Tenacity db pro, and a diff pinion gear bearing for the front diff?
buddy you'll have to search for the exploded view of your car, there are usually part numbers on there you can order from ebay amain or horizon
Nice run me and my brother go back and forth as to which one is better the DB pro or the lasernut would love to see you get your hands on a DB Pro and do a comparison
bookmarked so when I find a Lasernut to buy I can upgrade immediately
Awesome! Now add those electronics and CRAWL IT! :)
Well its a serious Holmes motor and Mamba Monster X esc... Going to be a lot stronger than whats in it now.
My lasernut has gone really slow? I have fitted the 14T gear and checked is on 100/75/50 highest setting? Feels like the timing is slow on the motor but didn't think it could be changed? Any advice 😊?
2s? 3s? or 4s?
@@ExocagedRC on 3 and 4s it's half the speed it used to be and I've hardly used it.. What could have happened?
It survived?!👏👏👏👏👏😆👍👊
Hi
Will the tekno shafts work in the front and rear?
Thank you
So is metal shielded better or rubber shield better? DSM website states the rubber sealed are better.

Man I’m glad to have you. Yeah I’ve got to order about 4 more of his kinetic receivers systems myself.
Are you running stock pinion with 3s and what difference does it make.
stock pinion
Did u have to add a shim to the center diff at all.
Great videos on the lasernut. Have you messed with any of the motor timing yet?
I haven’t messed with the esc at all.
@@ExocagedRC ah okay. I would recommend turning the netural range down to the narrow setting and the start mode up to 7. Made it feel a bit more responsive

Are the front bearing the same as the rear?
yeah I think they are
I have such a hard time keeping the wheels on mine. I am constantly spinning the wheels off and stripping the hex. I’ve got them cranked down tight, any suggestions?

The link doesn't work. And i cant find the bearings on their site. Any help?
Don't you think Vitavon should make a box for our losi?
Yeah its going to happen, we just gotta keep em alive until then, at that point I'll feel safe to really put some power to it.
Nope, don't want them balls rubbing. Like the guy from offspring said, "you gotta keep em separated "

anyone find the outdrives? i cannot find them.
Stock? I haven’t even looked but the Tenacity stuff fits it perfectly.
