The LaserTurd saga has just come to a end. From AVOID to CONSIDER it took almost 6 months of frustration, broken parts, a lot of tinkering and experimentation...
Vitavon (again) saved the day, and if this is the future of RC, the aftermarket brands stepping in and improve instead of upgrading on cost saving solutions from well established companies...something is not right. In the long run, cost saving measures vs proper engineering and a more expensive solution, is what breaks or makes the reputation of any brand.

      Pena

No body says anything about the ripoff losi did selling this buggy. They are the one that should be doing the upgrades/updates to the Lasernut. If they want, Losi, to remain in business they should do something about it and make replacements parts that we can buy and afford. I don't want to go and spend hundreds of dollars to fix the issues that this buggy has. IT IS NOT RIGHT!! LOSI DO SOMETHING AND HELP YOUR FOLLOWERS!

Hi, Mr. Monteiro! You are sooo right! The Quality is down and the Price is high... It does'nt care what Company it is... Put all Vitavon Parts in it and it runs, like they tell us in the comercial videos... How many USD does it cost now? This "Vitavon Lazernut RTR"? 🤔 Iam not a Expert who builds a RC-Car antill it runs. I only play with it... IT HAS to run, like the comercials are telling... Not more...

That first launch with the paddles was pure formula off road style. It seems to drive a lot like my repurposed losi 8e 2.0 . I kinda converted it to a u4 desert rig. One of my favorite rigs, but the losi 8s are almost indestructible less the plastic spurs. Makes me think a couple sets of paddles may be needed, ha. Thanks for the video my man

Great job on this video. I noticed that you have quite a few videos of the Losi Lasernut. Most of them include upgrades and repairs. I really have my heart set on getting one but it just seems like they break a lot. When I go to the hobby store to inquire about one they just say "you really don't want a Lasernut they always break". I'm not really detoured by this because the Losi is such an awesome looking RC from head to toe. It just looks so cool in action as it blasts over rocks and dirt.

    Front brace $25
    Spur gear $20
    Diff housing $90?
    Axle kit $220
    Total $350 + shipping
Not worth it for a 1:8 vehicle on a 1:10 platform. Spare tire rack, steering setup, bumper, wheels, arms, etc just aren't made to handle the weight of this vehicle. I love the look of it and when it's not broken I love running it, but it's too fragile to keep pouring money into.

Maybe instead of crawler build #7...
I think the Lasernut packed in a lot of potential for $400. If it was built to $1200 standards right out of the box, it would have cost... wait for it... $1200!
I do wish Losi (and every other manufacturer, tbh) shimmed stuff better at the factory. Sucks that someone would buy an RTR and have to do work immediately on that. Are tolerances that far off that they can’t get RC pinion and differentials right during assembly? You would think the shimming would be consistent and easy to take care of .

Question for Lasernut owners. Has anyone had any issues with a recently purchased Lasernut? I'm curious if there were running changes between production runs. I humbly ask that if you have a new Horizon Hobby RC with an issue you call or email support.. If they don't have cases and data they can't make improvements. I called support awhile back and asked what the Lasernut issues were and support said mostly front axles. He had not gotten a call on the rear diff. Thanks if you read to the end. Horizon hold music is pretty good and a 2 year warranty is unbelievable!!! Remember Traxxas is 30 days.
