Minimalism is a journey. I stopped buying clothes, shoes and bags unless they are unusable. Even while travelling or vacationing, I stopped taking too much pictures esp. selfie or food pictures. If I do it, its for keepsake and will never be posted online. I store memories in my mind, replaying it over and over, giving me happiness. Everything u enumerated, I agree to most of it and its almost the same with my current lifestyle. #relatemuch
I find your videos so refreshing, and I am very happy to see so many young people like you having such a healthy and positive outlook onto their lives. Keep on going! Your 53 year old fan from France!
I just started a few months ago! Starting from zero! But I already like it😊. Also trying to learn my young children (8 and 10 years) this principle. Instead my husband and I try to invest the saved money or pay off the mortgage. Much more fulfilling. We live in the Netherlands... that helps. As it is much less a consumerism society than the US for example
I am so happy you mention the part about not needing to wake up early to be a "good person"...almost all the time when I was younger people told me that sleeping later was something "lazy" people do. My brain works different than most people, and I sleep at different hours but I always sleep the same amount of hours as most people. I sleep when I want to sleep. I think many times this is something cultural. This is a very good video. Thank you for making it 👍👍
Your journey towards a simplified lifestyle is truly commendable! 🌿 It's a great reminder that minimizing clutter in our lives can significantly enhance our mental clarity and overall happiness.
I love Finnish people speaking English… and your content is great, clear and handy. I’m happy to have bumped into your channel Seve! Keep going! Toivon sulle kaikkea hyvää!
I am new to this channel. I just realized you are Finnish and live in Finland! I thought you were a very pale Indian or Pakistani. Finns are attractive people. I really like your frugal and simple living tips. I especially like how you encourage us not to worry about perfection or what others think about us. And to not make lists and multi-task. Those things can be stressful and drain your energy.
Good video, great topic! Here are my additions: - Quit complaining. Talking about your problems with someone and asking for an advice might help, but portraying them as a matter of your bad luck or just telling about it to 10 people wont do anything. Waste of time and emotions. - Quit eating excessive sugars. Sugar is a fuel for your brain, but dophamine is lile a drug - your brain wants more and more. I always notice how sugar deprivation affects my emotional self-control, and then it settles down after a few days of eating less sugar. Simplifies a lot of stuff (at least for me). - Quit trying to prove something to someone. You're not gonna change a person's view in an instant. Especially online lol - Quit forcing a creative output. As David Lynch said "Get a setup and just wait".
Oh, I agree. Quit complaining but even more so, avoid people who do. Even though you might have been friendly for years. It’s a pity but as “Misery loves company” and it’s just not the company it’s healthy to keep.
I don’t bullet journal everything in my life, but the bullet journal style of note taking is really useful in work for quick capture of information - no fancy layouts here just the date and then notes underneath as I go through the day which I can turn into tasks as needed
Ohhhh, thank you so much for this and your other videos. Perfect medicine for me in this troubling time in the USA and the 🌎. Your delivery us as wonderful as your message.
There is no such thing as multi-tasking - that is why it was so hard for you. Then when we can't accompish something we are made to feel guilty. We can do one thing at a time well, anything more than that suffers. Good on you for recognising it! I enjoyed your video very much, and can relate to many of the things you've let go of.
There are so many different ways to journal. The bullet journal is quite involved so I hear where he's coming from. You could definitely do the tiniest amount and connect with yourself. The opportunities and benefits are endless, in my book!
Gosh, I like your content, listening to your voice calmed me and your list seem to be healthy and the first one I ever experienced without feeling urged to self improve. Thank you Seve
Just found your channel today and subscribed instantly. The only multitasking thinking i cant get rid of for sure is listening to channels like yours while doing my household chores.it's therapeutic and calming. Thank you for the new ideas !
If it brings you value, well-being and calms you down, I don't think it's bad. I do it sometimes too. Of course having moments of complete silence is important but also having moments like these 😊 I mean multitasking in a way of trying to do many tasks at the same time, ultimately overwhelming your mind and body
Such a great list! 49 really stood out to me because I worked odd hours for so many years. Every time the subject of what time I woke up was mentioned in conversation, people would tell me how they'd "love to sleep in" as if we didn't have the same 24 hours a day. I don't get extra hours because I work earlier or later than anyone else.
Useful video! Thank you for the tips, it’s nice to live slower and happier, removing the unnecessary distractions in life. Wishing that everyone can get to live peacefully and with joy ❤
I’m in a process of decluttering and this video came to me. Now I feel like I have a lot more things to quit hahaha love the video Greetings from Brazil 🇧🇷
1000%. The point is to also keep life simple while simplifying, so make 1 change at the time otherwise you'll just overwhelm yourself trying to create a calmer life 😄
Ouch, 35 is pretty relatable for me, haha. Sure it's important to take care of yourself, but mostly of the time it's external validation focused. In the essence, your clothes doesn't define you, so what types of clothes you are wearing to the supermarket actually doesn't matter. Thanks for the insight, Seve!
@@heyjude5027 I would say this has a lot of truth in it, the spotlight effect is real. However, just like other animals, we many times judge others based on their looks. I think the key is to not care about it anyway because ultimately it matters more what you think of yourself 😊
Bright lights, blue lights from electronics in the evening. Disturbs our circadian rhythms. I make my place progressively darker with practically nothing but a dim nightlight ( soft yellow light) in the next room by the time I go to sleep
Wow, surprised i do the vast majority of these already! That was lovely and reinforcing. I do read two books at once though 😂 one fiction and one non fiction. Could we maybe have a video (or seasonal series) on your hobbies? Don't need to teach anything just show us what you get up to. Would love to get to know you more 😊.
About memory issues, my memory started to sharpen back up again when I simplified my diet to not include grains of any kind, seed oils (also known as vegetable oils), sugars, vegetables, and fruits (except a few berries once in awhile). The change was nothing short of a miracle. It keeps getting better even after 2 years of simplifying my diet this way. I love being able to remember better now. Also, something to consider- if you take anything with Diphenhydramine HC (the active ingredient in Benadryl) or a similar drug class, it will ruin your memory and causes dementia). Best of luck to you in your journey! ❤
I did the same with 1 and 8. I have three pocket notebooks now and that works wonders for me. I write down anything and everything. This also evolves and not every day is the same. That’s okay too. Love the video and the messages. You did a good job on keeping it simple, brief and genuine.
@@SunnyKindJourney i have one to review finances and budget. I have another to go over ideas and some notes from books. The other one is simple day to day list and task overview
50 thumbs up 👍. Congratulations figuring these things out took me way longer than I’m guessing you’ve been alive.😊 The thing I’ve given up lately is listening to angry people subscriptions. (This is a good trick in the US the last few years.) Simply live long.❤️
@@SunnyKindJourney 😝 That would be somewhat confusing. I guess we Americans tend to think the world revolves around us. Our politics have become contentious and divided to the point that friendships have been broken and families split apart on issues. RUclips is full of angry people denouncing the other side as being enemies of the state and while I feel strongly about the issues I decided it was a waste of my time and a disruption of a simple life to listen to them any longer so I gave up these “angry people videos”.
Seve thank you i enjoyed your list no. 23 especially is so often overlooked and tough to do ( for me at least ) but in my life it was essential so freeing my mind is SO MUCH CLEAR AND CERTAIN
This is my first video of yours. I found it very interesting and aspire to also let go of a lot of the things you mention. Now I will go watch a lot more of your videos :)
Moi! Good points, but maybe it’s good to have some dressingcode when you go out. Not in pyjamas to the supermarket. There you show you caring for the people around you. Waking up early is good for the health. Stay well! Sinikka
Great question! The value I get from those is about self-expression. The jewellery I have, all have a story behind them. When I see or wear those, I feel certain emotions attached to them. So these are one of the few items I own, that don't have a real practical value but an emotional one. I couldn't care less about some "icy" diamond necklaces or bracelets 😄
I think the only thing I cant do from your list is no. 48. I live in a humid tropical country where I feel sticky if I dont shower twice a day. Sometime I manage to take shower once if the weather is cold enough.
I totally get it 😄 I live in the very-non-tropical North of Europe where most of the people take showers daily. Used to do that too but now I don't care to do so unless I sweat a lot
I am from India and in my culture - taking a shower daily and that too in the morning before saying your prayer is an absolute must if you are not sick. It is so deeply ingrained into my mind that I feel uncomfortable even thinking about not taking shower. Because I don't eat anything before I have prayed. I can't pray before taking shower...
🎯 Key points for quick navigation: 🗒️ Always trust my memory: Writing things down helps me remember and stay organized. 💰 Minimalism over materialism: Less is more; I don't need material things for approval or happiness. 📱 Tech upgrades: Grateful for what I have; avoid constantly upgrading technology. 🧹 Accepting imperfection: Simplifying includes embracing a little mess and not obsessing over a spotless home. 👗 Decluttering clothes: Regularly assess if clothes bring value; donate what's not used. 💻 Digital declutter: Clearing out unused files on devices for easier organization. ⏰ Balanced productivity: Accepting that not every day will be 100% productive; it's okay to have off days. 📚 Simplified reading: Focus on one book at a time for better comprehension and retention. Made with HARPA AI
Your list is very thoughtful and inspiring. So much in life is unnecessary. I've decided to eliminate diet colas from my life. Looking forward to your next post. Blessings to you from your friend in Chicago.
Look up Ryder Carroll's bullet journal method. It's very simple and not artistic at all, and it shouldn't take up much of your time. It's meant to be easy and quick and is the original method by the inventor or the bullet journal.
A lot of good ones on the list. You also make a good job in presenting them more or less as a “pick and choose” list, and that you don’t portray it as if every tip is a need. Even though this list shares some tips with all the “X habits of successful people” videos I really hate (and I don’t think you can mimic) your presentation is much more laid back and guilt free and focusing on what really matters, getting yourself to enjoy your life on your own terms. Good job, from a friendly neighbour 🇸🇪.
Most of those are just age related. I got to the same ideas, but not because I was getting into minimalism, but because I got to that age when I don't give an "f" anymore
Since I've retired my life is very much like this guy's. So many things are no longer necessary. I live a life of minimalism, but the result is a kind of "anorexia of things". I reject consumerism, including consumption of experiences. I need nothing. I want nothing. I'm interested in nothing. I hope for nothing. There's nothing liberating about it at all. Each new day is another 24 hours of nothingness. I try to sleep as much as possible. I've gotten off the treadmill of acquisitiveness, but the alternative isn't much better.
What's your purpose in life currently? I just listened to the summary of the book Man's Search for Meaning by Viktor Frankl, and it talked about this feeling of emptiness and how it can come when we lose the purpose or meaning in our life. Hope things will get better for you mentally!
Hello! It is my first time watching your videos, I just discovered your chanel. ☺️The first thing that I noticed was your accent which I find really interesting and comfortable to listen to. May I ask you where are you from? Based on your accent, I would say Finland? 🤨
I disagree with the social media part. But for a very specific reason. I live thousands of miles away from family and friends. Facebook and Instagram allow us to keep in touch in a casual way without missing out on we are doing in life.
Yeah, it's all about intentionality. Some people use it for actual connection, some just to kill time and escape reality. I think you are doing well and have good self-awareness 😉

Thanks man’ some great nuggets of wisdom in there for sure. Warm greetings from the Sunshine Coast Australia
Glad you enjoyed the video. Greetings from Finland 😇
you have struck a chord with me. Thank you
Thanks for watching :)
I realised that some of the habits i already follow without giving much of a thought 😊 it was great video and your smile is wholesome. 🤩✨
Thanks for watching! 🌿😊
Beautiful shots, Seve!!!!
Thank you, Austin! 😇
❤❤❤❤❤i can relate to every point you made.
Interesting, so no vegetables or fruits?
Damn, we share same traits buddy... i love how relaxing you have named them
Wow!! Amazing path to live in Peace!! Thanks a lot my friend!!!
All the best to you! 🌱
Thank you for this video
Thanks for watching! 😊
Thank you for your ideas❤
Thanks for watching! :)
I relate to ALL you say!!! Only took ME almost 70 YEARS!
Better late than never! Hope you are all well 😊
I did the same with 1 and 8. I have three pocket notebooks now and that works wonders for me. I write down anything and everything. This also evolves and not every day is the same. That’s okay too.
Love the video and the messages. You did a good job on keeping it simple, brief and genuine.
Yeah it's so important to empty the head every once in a while! Do you use just normal notebooks or something special?
@@SunnyKindJourney i have one to review finances and budget. I have another to go over ideas and some notes from books. The other one is simple day to day list and task overview
@@magaliechetrit Sounds like a great system! 🪴
Hi Steve, really interesting thoughts 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Glad you enjoyed it 😊
i just found my comfort channel and here it is 🥹❤️ great video man !
Awesome! Thank you! 🌱
50 thumbs up 👍. Congratulations figuring these things out took me way longer than I’m guessing you’ve been alive.😊 The thing I’ve given up lately is listening to angry people subscriptions. (This is a good trick in the US the last few years.)
Simply live long.❤️
Thank you so much! 😊 What are those exactly? I've never heard of them but got curious
@@yvonnejackson1696 Oh yeah I get it. Makes total sense to quit that!
Thank YOU for this
i love your videos❤much love from the Philippines Seve
Thank youuuu 😊
i see your angelic introspection, very nice
Thank you! 😊
Seve thank you i enjoyed your list no. 23 especially is so often overlooked and tough to do ( for me at least ) but in my life it was essential so freeing my mind is SO MUCH CLEAR AND CERTAIN
Really enjoyed this . Will be happy to check out your other videos .
Awesome, thank you! 🤗
This is my first video of yours. I found it very interesting and aspire to also let go of a lot of the things you mention. Now I will go watch a lot more of your videos :)
Awesome, thank you! 🥰
Thank you so much!
Thanks for watching! :)
This was like the cutest video ever!😍
Thank you 😄
proud of u in so many ways🤗🤗
All grown up and everything haha 😄 Thank you, Ramona ✨
Love this video. Interesting, thought provoking stuff
Thank you 😊
Moi! Good points, but maybe it’s good to have some dressingcode when you go out. Not in pyjamas to the supermarket. There you show you caring for the people around you. Waking up early is good for the health. Stay well! Sinikka
Thanks for the comment and stay well too!
This is very useful. Thanks.
Love your video! But how does your necklace serve you?
🎯 Key points for quick navigation:
🗒️ Always trust my memory: Writing things down helps me remember and stay organized.

Great video. Also, the saying is "one foot in, one foot out"
Thanks! Yeah, almost got it right haha 😄
New subbie. Wonderful video. Peace of mind by simplifying.
Thank you! 🪴
loved your plants
Love them 🌱🌱
#4 with a 3 year old and 3 adults children working full time and studying whewwww keeping a tidy home has been different
For sure! Just remember it can't always be tidy, and 15 years from now you might even miss all the mess your kids were doing 🌱
Your list is very thoughtful and inspiring. So much in life is unnecessary. I've decided to eliminate diet colas from my life. Looking forward to your next post. Blessings to you from your friend in Chicago.
Thank you so much, Steven! 🪴
Look up Ryder Carroll's bullet journal method. It's very simple and not artistic at all, and it shouldn't take up much of your time. It's meant to be easy and quick and is the original method by the inventor or the bullet journal.
Will check this out, thank you! 😊
Thank you 🙏
Thanks for watching! 😊
Interesting journey great tips
Thanks for watching 😊
A lot of good ones on the list.
You also make a good job in presenting them more or less as a “pick and choose” list, and that you don’t portray it as if every tip is a need.
Even though this list shares some tips with all the “X habits of successful people” videos I really hate (and I don’t think you can mimic) your presentation is much more laid back and guilt free and focusing on what really matters, getting yourself to enjoy your life on your own terms.
Good job, from a friendly neighbour 🇸🇪.
Tack 🤗 That was the goal as well. Not to tell you what to do but give some inspiration!
Such a sweet accent ... and great content as well ... thank you
Haha thank you 😄
Most of those are just age related. I got to the same ideas, but not because I was getting into minimalism, but because I got to that age when I don't give an "f" anymore
Thank you!
You're welcome! 😊 and thank you for watching!
Yes 😇😇
I disagree with the social media part. But for a very specific reason. I live thousands of miles away from family and friends. Facebook and Instagram allow us to keep in touch in a casual way without missing out on we are doing in life.
Yeah, it's all about intentionality. Some people use it for actual connection, some just to kill time and escape reality. I think you are doing well and have good self-awareness 😉
U look cute with your hairstyle.. Also i agree
Haha thanks
Funny how i already do some of the things you mentioned 😂
Awesome video dude!
Thanks! 🌟🌟
@@SunnyKindJourney You’re so welcome!🤘
Yup, simplicity is underrated
🌱🌱
Only just found you :-). Looks like i have a lot of catching up to do. I am on a simplifying mission myself and love inspirational content ro keep me on track so thank you for your videos :-). I would say i have given up thinking i need to conform to society :-). I am in the UK and the only connection i have to finland is the only horse i ever owned was called Aina by her first owner who was finnish :-).
So glad you found my channel and hope you'll like my future videos too 😊😊 Is Aina still with you? 🥰
@@SunnyKindJourney I am sure your future videos will be brilliant :-). I look forward to them. I had to sell Aina unfortunately due to a nasty fall injury but thankfully she didn't go far and I am friends with her new mum so she will "always" be in my life :-).
@@summersday1455 Oh no! well at least you found a way to keep her in your life still :)
Hi here from CA
What a beutiful plece you live in I mean your country !
Thank you! 😊
Well done. I quit WhatsApp too, big move yet fulfilling one. Whatsapp is very addictive you are expected to respond to people’s texts all the time including employers and colleagues.
Well done! Yeah I can relate to that struggle 😄
Nice and smart 👍
Thank you! Cheers! 🌱🌟
