My son and I are currently working on a Game Boy Color game using GB Studio. Very cool. The Game Boy was the first video game system my parents ever bought me back in 1990, so being able to make a game for it, in collaboration with my son who is around the same age as I was back then, is pretty amazing!
Really insightful video! It's such a shame Pokémon Picross never got released. I suppose it's because Picross didn't really catch on in the west and the sales for GBC games were low in Japan, so they must have figured neither audience would be that interested. The difficulty of the puzzles also looks much simpler than Picross 2, so it may not have even landed with serious Picross fans looking for a challenge. I suppose it was just in an awkward position with no clear target audience...but personally I think they underestimated the power of the brand. People (like me as a kid) would have bought it for the Pokémon name even if they had no idea what Picross was. Also, I never knew Tyrannosaurus Tex has been released! I remember reading about that game in a magazine back in the day and being super excited about an FPS on the Game Boy. It looks like it runs quite smooth too. So cool to see people resurrecting old projects these days.
I mean, they did release a Pokémon Picross game for the 3DS. My best guess is that perhaps in 1999/2000/2001 they felt they already had a full slate of Pokémon spin-offs.
Very cool! 3 N64 remakes I actually own: Space Station Silicon Valley, Quest Brian’s Journey (Quest 64), and Gex Enter the Gecko. The first 2 at least are quite obscure and fascinating
The Gameboy Color is a real underrated gem in the Gameboy lineup, it's a shame some of these didn't get released as more games for its limited library could only ever be a good thing!
The aesthetics of these games are very compelling, and Towers II looks like a technical marvel! I wonder if a NES game could display FMV like that? Infinity looks very promising too. Intriguing ideas for new videos as well. I love hearing the story of lesser known game companies, would absolutely hear you tell the tale of Telegames! A demake video would be lots of fun too!
I have some GBA games published by Telegames, some of them were really weird to get. Soccer kid for example, on ebay only US listings were available for PAL copies, that is a bit unusual. I would love to hear about that company!

The Game Boy Color is in my opinion an 8-bit powerhouse, and I it kinda makes me wish Stip had released, due to how gorgeous that game looked

Telegames is real weird, I'd love to see a deeper dive on them, especially as it relates to Gameboy era stuff. (Also, great video as always!)
