The Notebook Deleted Scene - At The House (2004) - Ryan Gosling, Rachel McAdams Movie HD
The movie focuses on an old man reading a story to an old woman in a nursing home. The story he reads follows two young lovers named Allie Hamilton and Noah Calhoun, who meet one evening at a carnival. But they are separated by Allie's parents who disapprove of Noah's unwealthy family, and move Allie away. After waiting for Noah to write her for several years, Allie meets and gets engaged to a handsome young soldier named Lon. Allie, then, with her love for Noah still alive, stops by Noah's 200-year-old home that he restored for her, "to see if he's okay". It is evident that they still have feelings for each other, and Allie has to choose between her fiancé and her first love.
We need a version of the film to be put out with no deletions. I’d pay to see it.

Which is the whole book, I saw the movie before reading the book and was searching for moody Noah the whole time. He didn't exist, he was a sweetheart and just endlessly understanding.

1- She ask about Martha in the scene and then in the film she said to Martha that she heard lot about her
2- She knew about Noah going to war
3- The paint that she gave him is in the wall.....
Mauricio Beasain SAME THOUGHTS EXACTLY. Always wondered why she told Martha they had talked about her . Also the painting and war picture put the movie scenes together . Like she wearing that black sweater from now it makes sense

Agreed. It was done very well. This stuff feels to forced. Like the audience has intelligence you don't have to spell out every single emotion each person would be feeling.
People in film need to rely more on the audience being able to pick up on these little details. Not everything has to be completely speled out.
They should’ve kept this in. It’s shows the awkwardness of them seeing each other after so long. They did a good job in this scene depicting it from the book.

Ryan is so perfect for the role, I can feel his pain and vulnerability in this specific scene.

The time period of The Notebook was the 1940's which was during WW11. During this time the United States instituted a draft so she did know he was in the war.
I was confused to I was like did she know that Noah an Finn went to war an Finn died
in the movie it said she volunteered as a nurse because the wounded men reminded her of Noah. Men were drafted into the war so she would have been aware he was drafted too given he was the right age for a draft.
"can i help you with something" and the way she can help him is to keep herself warm.... 😭

At first I thought I was ok w this getting deleted but now that I understand how Noah purposefully leads her to his room so she can see he has her painting still, and to show her she’s still the one after all these years without spelling it for her... ughhhh

Thats what its all about. Romantic moments like that, I can watch this scene, this movie, a million times. This is one of the greatest moives ever. I dont know titanic is number 1, or this, Its a toss up..

Titanic is more lust, they know each other a couple of days. The Notebook they fall in love over a summer, they argue, and they know each other much better (imo).

for me the notebook is eternal perfection and subsequently i'd never change a thing. each to their own but i've watched it so many times when i've needed to feel a part of a 21 year romance love and life i once had that was literally "till death do we part" and i immerse myself in the whole thing once again. it's emotional, healing, remembrance, therapeutic, relaxing, fun, happy and entertaining ... I'd not change a thing 💞

Few could play this role as good as Ryan Gosling! I could only imagine one actor doing it just as good; the young Richard Gere.
Originally it was offered to Tom Cruise and Ashley Judd. IMO, that would have not turned out very well🤔

Believe it or not there are twelve deleted scenes. There is a Playlist here on RUclips showing all of them. Just Search for 'The Notebook Deleted Scenes'. You will be very annoyed after seeing them because when you add them to the movie it becomes a much more complete movie and deleting them left some important gaps.
@@helenaville5939 Not everything has to be showed or spoken. I like to have a room for my own thoughts, and I think that's why most of these scenes were deleted. Besides movie is more dynamic.

Wish they kept this scene tbh, even if they were first loves it doesn’t necessarily change the awkwardness that they have after not seeing each other for 7 years, but it of course builds tension and lets us see a side that wasn’t really shown enough in the movie

This is one of my most favorite movies of all time
I hated that they didnt share a conversation about the death of finn. Like wtf? And also about his gf, their mutual friend. I mean they were great and influencers to the main characters of the film. Its a god damn romantic movie, why would you miss the opportunity to use that as a weapon to unite them, making them share a mutual sad moment. That would be amazing after allie came up after those years...

I’ve seen these deleted scenes in one of the TV versions. I don’t know why they cut them out. They add some more depth and important parts for the viewer.
why did they delete this, i've always disliked how she just meets martha and she invites her over for dinner like it's so normal, and okay-i mean i know it should be, so many years passed and noah was single he could do/be with anyone and anything he wanted, but it's nice to see her actually being interested to learn about that part of his life. and when she sees her painting on his wall gooooddddd!!! 😭😭😭 the deleted scenes are always gems 😌

In the movie, Noah was silently petrified the first day, he basically said "just memories" (oh and "do you love him?") and nothing else, well, nothing that mattered anyway that I thought why would she bother coming back the next day. The deleted scenes are somewhat revealing to Allie's character.

This scene makes farewell piece clearer, when Allie gives sweater back and makes a promise that she will be back next day. However this fishing part? I don't know, it shows that Noah exerts pressure on Allie. I think whole Seabrook visit sequence is more subtle without fishing part.
If this scene was in the movie it would have cleared up how she seemed to know Martha

Only part here shouldnt have been deleted is the last few seconds when she see her own painting & noahs picture in war. Looking at her painting pic somehow made her think the feeling was still mutual.
