Dusan you’ll need to set it to “night” photo. I used night time lapse, probably set exposure to 30sec but you’ll need to test and see. Scroll down this guide and you’ll find the settings for your Session5: gopro.com/help/articles/how_to/How-to-Use-Night-Photo-Night-Lapse
Thanks! Music is by Ben Sound, title is Slow Motion. I had forgotten to credit the music in the description. You should check out www.bensound.com , you'll find a ton of high quality royalty free stuff there.
I use an external battery bank for my time lapses, otherwise the goPro battery will die after 2 hours. This leaves the camera unprotected since the lid must be open to connect the external battery, so watch out for rain.
Queen City Cebu I’m on travel without the GoPro so no photo. You plug in your charging cable into the GoPro as normal, and the other end goes into your portable power bank. Depending on the size of your power bank you’ll have enough juice to keep recording very very long. Maybe try it out at home for a few hours one day to do a test run 😎
this video is so sick! what are the combinations for timelapse on 5 session? pic on every 2 sec, 5 sec, 1 min or more? can you pick whatever you want with capture app?
ad2 e you can set it directly on camera or in app: 0,5s 1s 5s 10s 30s 60s (I think that’s the settings). Try 0,5s time lapse when cruising in a car, it looks smooth. The camera is surprisingly capable considering price and size, even the slow motion gets crisp and great looking. All the stuff on my channel was shot with this one.
ad2 e you’ll have fun with it, just practice and learn how to play on its strong sides. I’ve finally mastered smooth slow motion. Look at this, about 15 seconds into the video: ruclips.net/video/mE9c4EJFZjQ/видео.html
Andy7846 congrats on a great camera! I normally do the settings in the app since I have the app open anyway to set up the shot. You can also do the setup on the camera itself but that little screen is less than intuitive. Spend a bit of time testing all settings and you’ll soon be best friends with it 😀
It's done same as for the entire gopro lineup. Pick your resolution (likely 1080 for a Session5), then pick your framerate. If you set your fps to 90 you should be good to go. Then when editing the footage in your video editor of choice, you first decide on what fps you want to output the video in. If you set the timeline to be 30 Frames Pr Second then you can slow down your 90fps footage by 3 times, since 90 / 30 = 30 and that fits perfect into your 30fps timeline. It's a lot to deal with in the beginning, but once you get the hang of it it is real easy :-)
No app that I know of which will help. My guess is that with GoPro's challenging economy and layoffs they will not do any more software updates for the Session 5, instead focus their resources on the latest and greatest hero 6. The Session 5 is still a good camera though :-)
yup fantastic cam....but i read in consumer forum....we can pretty well do the all imp 20-30 sec exposure for our astro shots we just have to pop out of nightlapse and pop into timelapse setting....can it be done ...if yes i will buy it or else save for greatest hero-6 or may be a hero-4
Thanks for sharing this experience. I'm planning to get go pro in couple days, and also play around with slo-mo and lapses
I'd also look into the GoPro 6 if slow-mo is something you'll be doing a bit of. With the price dropped on the 6 it's an attractive camera :-)
Really amazing I cannot wait to try these features when I get mine
Just got the Session, looking forward to seeing what it can do, thank you for the insight, great videos!
Luc Mak have a look at some of my newer videos - that little camera can do some awesome slow-mo 👍
Great vid... I was curious about wether this cam could do timelapses with external power, so thanks for verifying this.
Any power bank will do.
Great video, was looking for info on different Go Pros and this was very helpful with a feature I would use!
Beautiful shots🤗
Thanks Man. The best video, about camera setting and setup with samples.
That is so crazy and cool. Thank you!
Grazie
Thank you for posting this. I was looking for a quick tutorial!
thanks. that was the first piece of usefull information i could find on the session 5
Glad you found it useful. That little camera can do some great stuff, for now I don't have a reason to upgrade yet :-)
Can you tell me setings for night time lapse ?

how did you run it for 4-5 hours for T/L ? will it run while charging? (external battery bank)? thanks, nice and right to the point video

@@Ocean4Life Can you share an image of how that set-up works please?

Eivind Skafta thanks for help. The slowmotion looks really great!
I’ve just got a hero 5 session today, I’m hoping to learn how to do these shots. Do you set time lapse up through the app?

in nightlapse mode what is the max exposure time that can be set ?
max is only 5s ... unfortunately. I would love to have the option to choose 10 or even 30 seconds.
thanks bro.....any aap that helps to increase exposure time....buzz me if you find one

I simply gotta ask...how were you powering session during timelapse? powerbank?
Max Althemyst Had to connect it to an external usb battery bank. The internal battery would have been empty after first few hours.
Eivind Skafta as i thout so. Thx for confirmation
what software did you us to slo the video down?
Spike3080 I've edited the video using Cyberlink Powerdirector 15.
GoPro Studio and all other editing software will let you do this:-)
Did anyone else see the bird pick off that snail?? Lol
