"It was cute, it was pretty smartly written and enjoyable and I actually liked Ben Stiller in it. It's not a movie i would recommend to anyone." -Mike Stoklasa
Honestly, having just binge watched a bunch of their reviews, I think that's the biggest difference between Mike and Jay when doing recommendations around weird niche things. Mike genuinely enjoys things that he knows won't appeal to anyone else, and in the review will break down all he liked but still not recommend it because he knows it's a unique perspective thing. On the other hand Jay will watch a super weird niche thing, and recommend it, but with an asterisk "if you like that sort of thing" type of thing.
Something I love about RLM is that I can strongly agree and strongly disagree with the same person more than once in the same video. Because they have actual opinions. It's great.

The film itself was made by the Director in his old age having, as a teenager, survived a bombing raid in a munitions factory in World War 2 by diving underneath his class for cover and then afterwards had to clear out the corpses of the people above him. Battle Royale as a movie is kind of about that feeling of the youth being lead to their deaths by the adults around them, more due to the incompetence of the older generations refusing to acknowledge the differences of those born into a different world than themselves than any initial fault of the younger generations, the idea being the adults punishing the children for growing up in a world that ironically the adults caused in the first place, making a sort of self-fulfilling prophecy. I work in mental health. You're right, we have more shit to worry about than M. Night Shamalalalan movies. Also, they weren't really offensive anyway. The "sundowning" thing in The Visit was a good touch in that respect, because it's not a real thing. Easy to suspend disbelief about a fictional illness.
I'm offended by "The Good Doctor". Not because of autism, but because of the cheap, sad attempt to capitalize on a "trendy" mental illness. Fuck that show to death.

The reason people that work in the mental healthcare sector don`t protest such movies is that as with many stressfull jobs you got to develop a dark sense of humor about it or you go insane yourself.

M Night had been talking about making that trilogy in many interviews since Unbreakable. I think he saw Split as good timing because of the cinematic universes being popular. His intent was always there.
Yeah the scripts were written around the same time.
Didn't it turn out the guy was possessed by a demon in the end, anyway?
42:30 The way Mike tenderly craddles his mug feels me with a fantastic sense of warmth and happiness. It's adorable.
I watched Ingrid Goes West because of this video and the irony is killing me.
Still waiting on the Ferdinand review
Wish Upon!
Fun Fact: Mike Stoklasa eventually went on to watch Kong: Skull Island and quite liked it!
Watched *I Don't Feel At Home In This World Anymore - glad to have seen it, some nice tones and messages and some great characters.*
Three years after Blue Ruin Dwight guy made a directorial debut. Good for them.
I just watched wish upon and desperately searched RUclips immediately afterwards to see if red letter media had covered it and was absolutely delighted to watch the last eight minutes of this video 😂
It’s now the spotlight of the latest Best of the Worst
Mike wished for a world without theaters... Little did he know he had just summoned Corona Virus
None of my personalities wanna watch an M Night Shyamalan film
I seriously like how you show the cover of the movie you're talking about. Sometimes I don't pay attention and think "Wait, have they already moved on to talking about another film?"
If you watch the planet of the apes half in the bag episodes in order you can watch Mike's soul slowly escape his body--and his brain becoming more and more pickled. Good stuff
2020 and still waiting for the Plinkett Wish Upon review!
Judging by his stubble, Mike could probably grow an awesome handlebar moustache. He needs to become Obsidian Jones.
Gold is better, makes pussy wetter!
M.Night, is alright, by meeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
The world... is changing...
Mike predicting the future 100% once again makes me anxious.
can we get a 10 hour Jay laugh track?
No. You'll get 20 hours of Rich laughing, and like it.
Guys I love this video, really made me watch these movies. Happy to see you review other things than blockbusters
Is Dasani replacing Dan Aykroyd's crystal skull vodka?
The reason people that work in the mental healthcare sector don`t protest such movies is that as with many stressfull jobs you got to develop a dark sense of humor about it or you go insane yourself.
Aubrey Plaza was also perfectly cast in Scott Pilgrim
I really appreciate how you put the movie poster in the bottom right corner so I can skip the spoilers if I want to watch the movie. Thanks for filtering 2017 for me!
Jay's last statement...perfect. As always, thanks for the laughs fellas.
