Nice list! Nothing crazy on my top blends this year because I'm still kinda new to pipes (about 2 years now). I usually smoke C&D or Peterson blends but I tried GL Pease for the first time this year. Quiet nights blew me away! I also tried the country squires hunting creek - that's a nice English/aromatic blend.
This year I'm more proud of the fact that I've converted a few buddies into pipe smokers lol it's nice to have a local community

Davidoff Scottish Blend was one of my favorites, along with Robert McConnell Red Virginia and Erik Stokkobeye 1954. These really struck me well. Often overlooked and worth a try.

    3) sutliff bulk rum raisin
    4) Maltese falcon

Hiyas Wilson, a very interesting and wide ranging top 5 review. I so enjoy seeing what other pipers find to be their 2022 favorites. I'm still mulling over my list, there are many excellent blends to choose from. I'll definitely have something to share when I do my "piping year in review", sometime in early January I reckon.
Merry Christmas 🎄 to you and yours!

Great no 1. I’m sure others have already mentioned this but if you like that SG rope (twist), keep an eye on GH&Co’s ropes in their bulk selection. My favorites are Brown Bogie & Brown Irish X. Not sure which flavored ones they are still selling in the States but those are fun to sample as well. Anyway, I find that Brown Bogie is damn near identical to SG #4 (of course, you’ll have to decide that for yourself, there are people that taste a difference, I don’t). If you keep your eyes pealed you can buy a 500 gram roll of it for a good price (they also sell it pre-sliced) they age well too.

I love the Cringle Flake 2022. The only challenge is the tin note. My wife has described it as "the smell is making me angry it is so bad". I have to wash my hands after packing. They should call it Brown Ballerina Blend!

I used to mention that I was a nic wimp. But I guess with smoking nic heavy blends so often, I've grown used to it.
I mention that because tobaccoreviews.com has No.4 rated as "strong". So take that for what you will.

My heart is filled with envy and pain. Here in Canada we must pay $50 for a small tin due to taxes. Shipping from the states brings a duty that takes the price over $50. Yet, I can’t stop watching these reviews. It must be what a North Korean feels like when they see fresh vegetables in Korea. You are living in pipe smokers heaven.

    • @TheTwon
      @TheTwon Год назад

Cant you import up to 200 grams without duty?

    • @thezenboy

@@TheTwon not any more. You have to spend 48 hrs in the US to get 200g duty free.

    • @thezenboy

@@TheTwon if you’re ordering into Ontario (and the rest of Canada I think), a $16 US tin will cost $48 CDN.

I am also in Canada. I have had success ordering from SmokingPipes but only order 1oz bulk at a time. I rarely get dinged for duty that way. Sucks not to be able to get different tin blends but they have alot of great bulk blends!

I would love to pick up this hobby and quit cigaretts, but strangely enough, pipe smoking irritates my nostrils to the degree they start to hurt and it feels like having been hit by a train in the face. even if i slow down or even how cool the smoke is the effect is the same . As i said before, I have been smoking cigarrets for long but cigarette smoke never does this to me at all and that what's making me wonder. I envy you ytpc members! Enjoy!
