    I've been using founders edition cards since the GTX 780 Ti. They're not OC monsters but I like the designs and they seem to keep much more of their value in the long run as hardware collectors tend to prefer the original designs.
    I'm using the cards in Dell Precision workstations and the founders edition cards fit the professional look of these systems a lot better than 3rd party boards. Also, larger 3rd party card usually don't even physically fit in these workstation cases.
    When you want a fancy card with RGB light effects and extreme overlocking, get your custom AIB monster.
    If you want a reliable, professionally designed card that runs rock solid and just works, get the FE card.

    Another reason to get a 30-Series Founders Edition: They're just damn beautiful cards. Whoever designed them deserves an award.
    If Nvidia would make more of them available, I would absolutely get one. But I really think one of the reasons they're not letting them go is because they're not making any money off of them with the pricing locked down. They'd rather steer you towards the scalped AIBs so they can split the profit with the manufacturers. How is it that everybody else has AIB RTX cards but nothing at all from Best Buy and Nvidia proper?
    I think this next time around they need to put the Founders Edition with a lot more vendors than just Best Buy since they ended up taking advantage of their exclusivity to shake down buyers with that TotalTech crap. They need to pay a price for that.

      So my Best Buy today had one of the larger FE drops I've seen in a while. They had 2 of each card including 3060ti, 3070, 3070ti, 3080(Yay) and 3080ti(not shocked). I got to the store 10 minute before opening and was 4th in line(3rd wanting GPU). Turned out that while the guy first in line got a 3080, the 2nd guy assumed(you know how that turns out) that there was only one 3080 and asked for the 3070. I asked if they had more than one and was told they had 2 of each and I'd take the 2nd 3080. Let's just say the guy ahead of me was NOT happy!. Meanwhile the guy behind me was ecstatic that he was able to get a 3070 as well. The 3060ti has since disappeared from the app but the 3080ti and 3070ti are still available 8 hours later.

    my case is designed for a pusher style card, and being that the FE is sort of a hybrid it's the one I want to get as a open air style cooler just doesn't do well in my case. Let me recap what you said, original founders edition had one fan and overheated. The improvement had two fans and the cooling is "fairly efficient" but it's not going to match a third party edition. But they look unique and built really well. Really well? How can it be really well and have fair efficiency? With all do respect Sir, I disagree. I'll wait for a 3rd party 3080 Ti GPU like Asus Strix. Better cooling, hand picked components and they'll come down below MSRP in a couple of months. Founders edition are cheaper and for a good reason. You get what you pay for . . . a little bit better than not overheating doesn't cut it for me. I'll pass of founder's edition!

    • @ClassicalTechnology
      @ClassicalTechnology  2 года назад

      They are cheaper because it’s sold directly by nvidia - and the new coolers are pretty good too, only a really good 3rd party cooler will beat it generally if you consider the typically smaller size on the FE too
