    The best Disney remakes are The Jungle Book (2016) and Pete's Dragon (2016) which actually improved on their originals.

      Don't forget about the 101 Dalmatians remake with Glen Close.

      Pete's Dragon 2016 is probably the best live action remake Disney has made these past 20 years. The 1977 original was a highly flawed and corny movie that was hardly considered a classic. It did what a remake should do with a flawed old movie by taking the concept and going in a very different and better direction.
      Sadly its the exception not the rule as most of these movies have been atrocious. The Dumbo remake probably personally pissed me off more than any one of these because it bastardized a childhood favorite of mine to such an extent but objectively the Mulan remake was even worse. It had none of fun of the 1998 animated movie and offered nothing of its own being a ridiculous farce that was both silly and boring. It being shot next to concentration camps carrying out genocide is also beyond evil

      @@LoudmouthReviews I get you and I also love the Jungle Book 2016 remake because it strived to be different than the original and closer to the Kipling stories.

      @@mercenaryknight5419 Honestly I thought Andy Serkis's Mowgli was much better in terms of sticking close to Kipling's stories than any of Disney's versions so that one is my favorite adaptation

    • @LoudmouthReviews
      @LoudmouthReviews  2 года назад +3

      Keaton's villain may genuinely be the worst villain I've seen in any movie. He isn't intimidating, he isn't funny, his actions never make sense, and for an actor with as much experience as Michael Keaton his performance is embarrassing.
      Though in the end he does show a bit more concern for the hundreds who probably died in the fire at the end so he may be a better person than any of the movie's "good guys"

    Great review and rant analysis of Dumbo 2019 Movie and I pretty much agree with everything you said about the Dumbo 2019 being a big disappointment.
    I pick the 2010 Alice in Wonderland movie as one of the absolute abomination of a movie and easily one of the worst Disney movies I’ve ever seen in my opinion, as for the 2019 Dumbo Movie, it’s pretty much pointless and no reason to appear.

      Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland completely missed the point of the original story. It was meant to be a world where nothing made any sense and there were no logical rules. Turning that into a basic Lord of the Rings style good versus evil struggle was absolutely moronic. But since it made money Disney got the message the public wanted more of this trash

      I don't blame them much because they keep making money. If the public would stop supporting this trash Disney would stop making them. The Lion King remake made 1.6 billion dollars even though it was as soulless a remake as they come. I recommend Your Movie Sucks review of it. He did a great job showing how they screwed up nearly everything about the story

    Ugh! Man I despise the Disney Live Action remakes after the 2000's (If 102 Dalmatians count as one). I remember 12 years ago I said to a Disney store employee "They should make a traditionally animated film about based on Mickey's best shorts.) kinda like Epic Mickey. The employee said "Disney doesn't remake their original films" she even thought the Alice movie from that year wasn't a remake. Looking back on that now, I knew they were gonna bastardize these films.

    • @LoudmouthReviews
      @LoudmouthReviews  2 года назад +1

      That is a weird thing for that store employee to say because Disney has made remakes of old animated movies going back decades. They used to be infrequent now they keep coming rapid fire with multiple remakes every year and they somehow keep getting worse. I thought Disney hit rock bottom with this movie but then the Mulan remake was actually worse and I haven't seen it but the Pinnochio remake I have heard is worse still

      @@LoudmouthReviews Yeah I know Jungle Book 94 and 101 Dalmatians 96 were the OG ones and quite frankly I think they are the better ones out of the remakes.
      When I was a tween I did wish for a Little Mermaid live action remake, but now since CGI has made movies feel artificial I say nay.

    i haven't seen the Dumbo remake, and i appreciate your review, I have only seen a small number of these Disney live action remakes and most of them were terrible, I haven't seen the live action remake of The Jungle Book so i cannot say if it is good or not, I did unfortunately see The Lion King, I also saw Aladdin's remake which I thought was OK, nothing too special, I did like Pete's Dragon live action movie
    I havent watched the full movie of Pinocchio's 2022 remake just some clips out it, from what i have seen it isn't good
