Iron Gear is here in England. Every time I hear their pu's I'm blown away by their clarity. This is the first time I've heard these pu's and they are no different, Thanks Chris
Killer demo. Coming back to add what I think is a worthwhile comment: Keep using plugins with effects for these kinds of demos. For anyone who complains, you are almost certainly going to end-up adding all the goo in the world to your dry signal in the end. I’d much rather learn how hot the pickup is in a complex yet controlled setting. These days, if you’re not playing digital, then you have acreage or an actual gigging band. Thanks Chris for the solid and well-sorted review. Helped answer my own questions. Position 2 cleans FTW.
Just bought a used Kiesel with a set of these installed. I plan to use the guitar for high gain sounds primarily, so these'll work. Thanks for the demo!
Did you find a huge difference between these and the solar Duncan’s? I was looking at nailbomb but they didn’t sound that much better to my ears. Thanks, and great playing!
Hey Chris, how would you compare these to the SD Jupiter pickups? I just installed some Jupiters in my PRS and LOVE them! Wondering how they stack up against the Black Hawks.
You might be better off wiring in a push-pull that splits both pickups at once and using a three-way selector switch. That way you can put the pickups in middle position with both pickups split at once, and that should cancel the hum. The bridge pickup sounds like the ceramic version. I have two sets of the alnico version and the low mids and top end are different, with a throaty low mids purr and a rounded top end when you go up the frets or play clean arpeggios and chords. The alnico one is still pretty tight, not quite as tight as the Impulse (which I also have, and is alnico) but tighter than all of the other alnico pickups in the BKP range and possibly tighter than the Juggernaut, which is mixed alnico/ceramic. BKP is based in Cornwall UK, Truro I think.
I have an Ibanez with a 3 way selector and just a volume knob. Would I still be able to use the push pull on the volume knob and still get the coil split? I’ve been playing guitar for 15+ years and have been a very meat and potatoes kind of player. I’ve always opted for basic active pickups (EMGs) and I’m trying to look into more versatile pick ups now.
Not really sure... They were bought used and I don't have that info. But, if I had to guess, I'd say the Bridge PUP is Ceramic. It just hits too hard to be Alnico 5.
These are some of the cleanest sounding pickups I’ve ever heard. I can’t imagine you can go wrong with these.
They are very quiet considering... More quiet than other bkps

Yah your pickups sound REALLY good, but what really makes your guitar sing is YOU brother!
Sounds awesome!!

I love these pickups although on my Solar I had to save some money and use Dimarzio D-Activators. Awesome playing man!
Nice demo.. I'm in love with the alnico set... I'm debating between a ceramic blackhawk vs a ragnarok for a single pickup guitar
cleans sounded surprisingly clean for such hot PUs

@Landyn Erick Yea, have been watching on flixzone for months myself =)
great demo! how does the neck split work for aggressive rhythmic/percussive stuff?
Man, does this guitarist come with the pickups? Superb demo, rock on brother!
Can you buy this set in alnico, or just ceramic? Anyone know?
Which amp are you using? How do you dial your high gain tone?

Are these ceramic or alnico set?

I’m don’t tune really low that much anymore. Would these sound ok in drop C# tuning? That is my main tuning.
Absolutely!
oof those sound good
Do they need a battery
No, they're passive pickups.
Alnico or Ceramic?

That guitar has so much fret buzz, you got to fix your action, or file some frets or something!
I led the video. Nice job. Now I no what pups not to buy.
mic the cabinet. its a pickup video. i can hear more string than electric guitar
