Hello, about a month ago I saw this video. You helped me make up my mind and I bought a set of BK Cobras, the best thing I've done. I mixed it with Obsidian Wire David Gilmore electronics. I have one amazing instrument! Thank you for putting this out. Cheers from Los Angeles CA
pickups sound awesome but it sounds like you're going to drop a power tube at any minute ...unless there was a recording issue that is emulating tube sag incredibly well
I kind of wanted to put 2 cobras in not a whole set.... what would the best placement for the 2 be? Definetly wanted one in the bridge but unsure of neck or middle for the second
Hi Ben , I’ve just seen this guitar up for sale on eBay for £550 , I text you last week when you had it up for £400 on gumtree, an you had already sold it , in you’re opinion do you think it’s still worth £550 I want to play a lot of Gilmore stuff are them pick ups good for that ?
The fella who bought it is obviously trying to flog it for more than I did then! This was a really great Guitar for me, but it was time to move on and upgrade. And no I wouldn't say Cobra's get you the Gilmour type sound. A more traditional Strat would get you much closer. As far as I know, Gilmour's strat was completely stock, but I could be wrong
Ben Forsey Ye that’s wot I thought as soon as I saw it on eBay his bought it to Iver make more money on it or he doesn’t like it , think more so to make a profit, would you say it would be worth still buying at that price for the quality of the warmoth neck an all the other bits you had put on it or would you suggest going for an USA strat
Honestly Peter, I wouldn't compare my old Guitar to an American Strat. This Guitar was more of a Super Strat with thicker, more high output tones for Shred, Fusion and Metal. I do own an American Special Stratocaster that I absolutely adore, but it's very different to this Guitar. I actually replaced the Guitar in this video with a PRS believe it or not! If you like traditional Strat tones then try loads of Fenders would be my advice.
Ben Forsey I’m an old school guitarist Ben just getting back in to it after 40 odd years , so have a lot to learn about all the technology about nowadays but am enjoying it same time , wot is a prs ?
I didn't personally put it together it was a Luthier called Joe White. I bought the Floyd Rose from somewhere on ebay (brand new obviously) but I can't remember where. And the neck was made by Warmoth
Got them put them in, absolutely incredible!! If your thinking about getting them do not hesitate!!!!

@@benforsey hi Ben, I know this is an old thread but how come you sold the pickups if they were everything you had been searching for? Cheers
You still got the pick ups in the strat they sound good
I sold this guitar back in 2017, twas a good guitar but our time together came to a natural end
Great video! Thanks
did you put that guitar together -if so where did you buy the neck and tremelo?
I didn't personally put it together it was a Luthier called Joe White. I bought the Floyd Rose from somewhere on ebay (brand new obviously) but I can't remember where. And the neck was made by Warmoth
The bad amp sound has me waning with my attention
MoP on the neck? Heresy... but nice vid.
£700 guitar, £220 pickups, £1,5k amp....£2 microphone. Pointless.
Just thought it might be helpful and fun to upload dude. I know what you're saying but it's just a bit of fun at the end of the day
