Thank you. You didn't go OVERBOARD with details, like others... you went straight to the point. Everything in a short period of time. You covered everything! it was great. Even if it was longer .. I'd like it ❤ Thanks!
we went on a big for the time ship back in 2017? it was crowded, everything was crowded and you almost had to plan your itinerary or miss out... I think this will be the same if not worse!! Too many people isn't a good thing..
I thought the same thing when I saw the aqua theater. How are people not going to be upset with how few of the 7000 passengers can actually enjoy it? Especially after paying that much money..🤷♂️
I totally agree! On an Oasis class, the Aqua theatre on the Oasis held 700 people, the Ice rink held 400 while the theatre was 900-1000. Even assuming the Icon is 15-20% larger and there are 2 shows a night, it won't even cover 1/4 of the passengers. Even if they have 4 shows (2X/night spread out on 2 nights of the cruise.), it will barely cover 50% of the passengers at most?
In harmony of seas they do have atleast 6 aqua shows in a week. I watched 3 times without a problem, no reservation in all times. It maybe a problem for family of more than 3. As they have the data from oasis class, this will workout eventually.
@@supertouring1 The difference between the first class Oasis of The Seas which was launched in 2008 and the Icon is not significant. 361.8 m (1,187 ft) overall VS Icon's 364.75 metres (1,196.7 ft) Those terms are more marketing as they are not extending the ships from one iteration to another by a lot. It's just so they could continue to say "the biggest cruise ship in the world". This won't make any major difference in any of the areas on the ship :)
I’ve listened to at least five different RUclipsrs/travel agents that were on that cruise and yours was the most comprehensive and informative. Thanks.
The crowns edge price actually got lowered to $39. Kyle Pallo confirmed in his video. I guess they listened to some of the complaints. $90 is outrageous
JoJo sent Krista on the “crowns edge” she had a great time. I’m glad they lowered their price. 👍 I wish you were on board with Kyle and JoJo. Lauren would have enjoyed the girls company. Thanks for your content. Congratulations on your new travel agent job. You’ve traveled so many cruises, you’re going to be an asset to their cruising bookings. If you end up hosting a cruise for the travel agency, will they let you vlog? I hope they do. Thanks for your content. 👍
Prices will go down after it's been sailing for a year or so. Look at Wonder of the Seas or many of the Oasis class ships now. They're literally half the price of Icon or less. I'll probably be booking Icon in 2026 or 2027.
You are going to absolutely love It. Make sure to plan out your days and do lots of research. The shows on royalty are Broadway quality. Plan around the shows. Food is good just don’t have super high expectations for the free stuff. It’s free lol Other wise like I said. Shows shows shows. And walk around the ship. There’s time to see everything. It’s not about relaxing every single day. Go explore. It’s a lot of fun
@@SwayPromo Thank you for the tips! A little anxious about getting sea sick though. I just hope I can’t tell I’m off land for the most part. Any advice? We are staying aft on deck 10.
@@BridgittTravels you’ll be good anywhere on that ship. It’s too big to feel to much motion. As far as motion sickness. I suggest talking to your doctor and getting him to prescribe patches to use. I use those and never ever get motion sickness. Drememine though work for alotttt of people just start taking It like 3 hours in advance and take It every few hours and in the morning throughout the ship. Don’t wanna ruin your trip with motion sickness. But outside of that you will have a great timee. Trust me when I tell you. Do all the activities and shows! That’s how you get your moneys worth!!! And if you stop in the Bahamas. Rent a boat by the docking. Private boat for you and the fam around $400 for 3 hours drinks included and will take you to the isnalds and such. Beautiful. But trust me. Motion sickness you will be fine. Huge ship. No rocking basically.
Even if it was cheap i would avoid this ship. Way too big to appeal to me. If I ever do go on a cruise it will be a much smaller ship. Thank you for the video!
Price is only outrageous if nobody is willing to pay it. The fact that it’s sold out for 2024 shows that it’s priced right. They are trying to get their money back for the ship as soon as possible. Once that happens the prices will come down. I’m waiting for 2025/2026 and get the suite for the current ocean view price
As a comparison, Mariner's capacity is 4000, but it has 2 pool areas (the main pool is split in two, but it is one 'area'). One main pool area, and another restricted to adults only. For 7,000 guests, Icon offers 7 distinct pool areas. Icon has far more offerings to accommodate passengers without congestion.
@@iptvclub1575 The size doesn't bother me. I've never taken 7 days cruises and I think that's a little too much. Also, I have a little dog and I don't want to be away for too many days. He goes to a pets hotel when I'm away.
not really tho. THe ship is massive so you dont notice it as much . Maybe around the pool areas. We were just on Adventure of Seas and didnt feel crowded exept for pool
You can have 15 Atlantic crossings on Cunard Queen Mary Queens Grill class for $75,000!! That's double occupancy but not alcohol, specialty dining, or cigars in Churchill's Lounge.
I'm borderline with it. It's absolutely massive, but it really just feels like an evolution of the Oasis class of ships. I'm worried that all the venues on the ship once the evening hits will require constant reservations to enjoy. I like to wing it on vacation, so I'm not entirely sure it's for me.
Agree. Went on a short cruise on Wonder of the Seas and while it was spacious, all of the shows and trivia games were standing room only. It’s not like they made the bars bigger for the larger ship. Things to consider.
Exactly. There should be a ton of "winging it" on vacations. Too much "having to be at a certain place at a certain time" is too much like like the real world that I'm escaping for that period of time.
I agree, having to plan out your entire vacation night by night just takes you out of your vacation and cruise. You’re supposed to be relaxing not fighting for a spot.
I sailed at full capacity! As a handicapped traveler the Icon was fantastic! Other than getting down to the Hideaway adults only area it, the size was wonderful it was over 6800 people sailing and it never felt like it. I was able to still see the Aqua action show even though sold out! So many options to eat other than windjammer and main dining room. I brought seasonings for the food, didn't need it...I was not disappointed and will be sailing again!
Just came off Wonder, the only Oasis Class we hadn't been on. And we're done with the large ships!! It's totally a theme park at sea now! Anything Freedom Class or smaller we love! I'm done with "6 Flags" cruising.
No desire to go on it. Went on Oasis of the Seas a few years back and knew then not a fan of “large ships.” I love smaller ones. More personal service imho, and I like the feel of the sea, not a floating hotel/mall/theatre. Just my preference.
This ship seems dark and heavily shadowed on the interior promenade, central park, and surf side areas. Quite the mall vibe around the pearl, unsure if I like it or not. Like Carnival’s Mardi Gras, Celebration, and Jubilee the central atrium theater has terrible seating and simply not enough. I don’t understand why these cruise lines put so few seats in such popular spaces.
When we sailed on Celebration the poor seating in the theater was a really annoying drawback. The way they designed that theater space is awful, for half of the seating you can't even the see the stage.
@@nichtsistkostenlos6565 100% Celebration Central has a terrible layout. Great concept and excellent shows. But the fact that 1/2 of the seating can’t see up and must watch from TVs is ridiculous. My time on the Celebration was definitely hindered by this. The amount of time we wasted sitting waiting for shows just so we could have a good viewing angle is honestly a little depressing.
it should. you get told right away what elevator is being selected so I would assume unless it's already on the deck your at you'll have pleanty of time. and that's coming from someone who needs a walker.
Yes, I have to look out for friends who have walkers and wheelchairs that want to go on ships for their vacations. I hope this new large cruise ship will work out the small brand new problems to get things operating well.😊
I thought I saw a video of you saying you cancelled. It's sad to see so many negative comments. Well here's my 2 cents. We went during Mother's day and it was the BEST trip. At 54 and 55 my hubby and I loved being in the thick of the fun, but we also found sooo many quite spots on the ship went we wanted a peaceful laid back atmosphere. The seating on the track deck, pearl cafe, and the overlook behind the aquadome were all so chill. It NEVER felt too crowded during sailing not even when there were dance parties in the royal promenade. We loved the hideaway area, the water slides, ice show, water show, elemental and especially the wizard of oz...done perfectly! Luckily we found seats because every show was booked the day we embarked! We even caught a laugh or two at the headlining comedy show. Destination elevators were not slow at all and worked like a dream. Disembarkation was a messy, crowded, long wait initially but once they started letting off, it went fast.I cannot wait to get back on. She ship is sooo big and spread out. Plus I loved that it was new and clean. Just may have to bring the whole family next time, but on Star. My grandkids would have a blast!
Icon looks like a lot of fun for older preteens and teens. Competing with Disney's younger demographics may be a challenge, but Icon seems perfect for 10 to very patient 50-year-olds, and the puppy is a happy addition! By the way, Congratulations, Justin, on your luxury travel agent gig! You'll be great! 🤩🤩Hopefully, we'll see you this fall on the Crystal Serenity. Walking the promenade deck 7...the happiest place on earth.😊
It is certainly impressive that two additional Icons are in firm order with the possibility of two options for a total of five in the class, only one less than the Oasis class.
My dentist's office has a destination elevator and has had one for many years. Not so new. This ship looks like a hot mess to me, but hey, lots of people love theme parks.
I saw a comment about Kyle Pallo and wanted to add something. Kyle asked an employee at Crown's Edge who said that it's $49 on sea days and $39 on port days. Also, Kyle mentioned in his video, which I found interesting, that he heard somewhere that Crown's Edge was originally supposed to be free before Royal decided to add a charge to it.
I was honestly surprised that it was originally set as free. Something like that needs to run perfectly, every time. You cannot afford to have issues anywhere along the way. And if it's free, Crown's Edge will be packed non-stop. With nonstop usage, there will be an expectation of a faster turnaround time. And on something like this, the shorter the turnaround, the greater chance of something getting missed. But a price point of $40 will discourage people from using the attraction all the time, so that will likely reduce usage to an acceptable level. And of course, provide a little extra cheddar to Royal's bottom line.
Not true. The zipline is similar in the Oasis class, and lines are expected but not that bad. Zipline is free. Even the iFly skydiving simulator on Quantum class ships are free. What Royal guests expected was the same as the other amusement venues...free 1 time for everyone with appointments that have to be booked b4 being sold out, with optional extended sessions (2 times instead of 1 for this for example) that have an additional cost... and those costs are HIGH. Even Flowrider is free, with optional paid extended sessions and private lesson sessions.
One of the things that I absolutely loved about Oasis-class ships is that they have two flowriders which helps a lot with crowd-control. I was shocked to find out that Icon-class only has one which will make it very crowded there.
To be honest, for most frequent cruisers, the ship is already the destination. Even if it’s a tame cruise line like P&O and Cunard! Cruising in and around Europe, the Mediterranean etc. is not guaranteed vacation weather, so the ship has to entertain. Most of the time, they don’t - but their clientele are a completely different demographic. The one thing that P&O, Saga & Cunard, plus other European Cruise Lines offer, above their North American counterparts, is a varied and extensive itinerary. We have longer vacation days, from work, so we can go further afield and indulge in more transatlantic crossings. But. Just getting on the ship signals the beginning of the holiday, especially if you don’t have to travel too far to get to the port!
I am excited in going on my first RCL cruise! Icon of the Seas will be my first RCL cruise on February 10, 2024 Superbowl cruise. However, it will be my 60th overall cruise since I started cruising in August 2015. I have early dining at 5:30PM, and would like to know if I need to make reservations to attend shows at the Theater and Aqua shows. That destination elevator was implemented on Carnival Panorama and people would get impatient and just walked haha. After Icon, I'll walk over to MSc for a side-to-side cruise on board Seascape. Thanks for your informational videos!
After sailing last weekend, the weekend after the shut down, watching this video was soooo helpful. And you are right, once you find your neighborhood, thats basically where you stayed. We had 2 toddlers so we lived on surfside errday! And i have no complaints. Sun, shade, waterpark, ice cream, buffet, grill, arcade, slide, carousel kept our family engaged all day. Which also helped with traffic in other areas. I saw people without kids came, looked, and left lol. And my family stayed out their way on the pool decks up top. Major population control was great. After sailing on Disney, im convinced Royal Carribbean cruises are top notch at managing traffic flow.
Hi Jay ! It’s a bit much ! We prefer a more classy, elegant cruise ships ! Not a theme park on the water ! But it gives an option for all of us ! We prefer the Princess Regal class ! Thx for sharing 🥰
I’m going on Icon in June! Im so excited and can’t wait! Glad to hear you enjoyed your time on board and thanks for the review! You always give such an honest and unbiased opinion. 😊
Great review my kids were on Oasis for a Mediterranean cruise last year and was upset that we didn’t enjoy the ship much, so I think the ship being the destination is attracting the younger generation and could be a very real attraction with the icon ship
I think they might have priced themselves out of affordability and which they supposed to be a family cruise and maybe people 40 and up my payable to Force of the prices down either needs to be some legislation or people just not book on icon of the season till the price start dropping
@@kevwwong But Royal Caribbean isn't Disney. Plus Disney does not nickelyn dime everyone on the ship like Royal Caribbean does I think alcoholic drinking packages and one dining venue is extra charge on a Disney ship but everything else is Included in the fair. While krabi can charge those prices when there's no specialty dining all venues are a complimentary all non-alcoholic beverages are complimentary walking around The Crown and anchor on icon of the seas is complimentary and this fall is complimentary then they can charge Disney prices
@@darploin5071You are right. Royal isn't Disney. They are more like Cedar Fair. And prices at those parks can get pretty ridiculous nowadays. As for nickel and diming, it's a bit of a myth that DCL fanatics like to perpetuate. Disney nickel and dimes. They simply don't aggressively nickel and dime, because they are priced high enough that they don't need to. And the only comparable thing Disney includes that Royal doesn't is free soda. They charge you for alcohol. They charge you for drink tasting seminars. They charge you for bingo. They charge you to style your hair. But they won't charge kids anything for the specialty restaurants, because they're not allowed there. The justification for the high price is that Disney can provide something that Royal and Carnival and NCL never will - Disney. You get meet and greets like you do at the park. You get Disney theming. You get Disney-themed musicals. If you love going to the Disney theme parks, and the "Disney Experience", this is the cruise line for you.
@@kevwwong I'm not a Disney fan I think the current Administration of the company has been pissed 42 the point where they have nothing but flops for movies and the only thing that doesn't make it many money is there parks and their Cruise ships. And no they don't nickel and dime you on a Disney cruise ship but they do in the parks
@@kevwwong Other than sure Sure excursions Disney does not charge for activities on the ship. What I'm saying is icon of the seas is asking for Disney prices and still wanting to nickel and dine you
Great recap J! I'm going in April and checking out Hideaway Beach as well! Im so glad I booked onboard back in 2022 when reservations first opened. I saved literally thousands 💰
I thought cruising was supposed to be relaxing, so then 1 can getaway and have a holiday, but being on that is nothing but noise on all decks, you willcome off that cruise, worse than when you got on the ship, you got music everywhere you go and its loud and crowded. Ive seen RUclipsrs daily vlogs. The ship might be new and shiny, but those cabins are getting smaller every time they build the latest ship.
I’ve been on 14 cruises so I’m a pretty seasoned cruiser. The thing that always annoys me is the nickel and dimeing guests. It’s expensive to cruise it should be ALL inclusive. Also allow enough shows for everyone to see.
Very comprehensive, informative, and fair review. Icon isn’t my cup of tea - I prefer midsized ships like Holland America and Celebrity - but you made icon seem a bit more palatable.
In what world does the idea of paying that much money to be in a glorified shopping mall with 10000 other passengers appealing? That's the very definition of a nightmare. With the price for one person, you can bring a whole family to a paradise in Vietnam for 2 weeks in a luxury resort, delicious food and excursions included 😂
It just goes to show how diverse the human race is. To me (and clearly you) it is the holiday from hell (the thought of an interior balcony looking down on a play area rammed with squealing kids makes me shudder) But to others this is their ultimate dream vacation. Give me classy, sedate old Cunard every time.
75K for a suite means they are not gearing to the average cruisers, RCL trying to upscale. But how could you crowded shows with standing rooms with half capacity. It will be interesting to see how that works since RCL is considered budget cruise line along with CCL and NCL.
We will be going on icon in May and so excited! We also got to spend the day at hideaway last weekend and it was a blast! Heated pool. Giant bar and a DJ the whole time. Only complaint is it would be nice to have more diversity in the music.
Just got off the ship last Saturday. I was surprised by how spacious the ship actually is. To me, the ship felt less crowded than an Oasis Class Ship. Plenty of room to walk and activities to do that makes the spaces not so full. I would say the only area that seemed crowded was Windjammer during peak hours. We decided to wake up earlier and problem fixed. We had a great time. Most of the teenagers and kids spend time in the slide and main pool. Other than the adult only area, there were pools on deck 17 that were not so crowded. If you have the opportunity go on it and see it first hand. You will be surprised.
In the "you got to be kidding" department. You could be easily be spending over $5,000 for a week in a small cabin in a screaming kid area, and then they CHARGE you more to use one of their rides. Why would you EVER consider doing this. Why do you think this would be a pleasurable vacation. I will not get even close to this ship. 3==
Great video. Good and honest. I like your style. Keep up the good work. But 75k a week for a cruise is a bit much. And sold out for an entire? I wonder how many RC execs and dignitaries who are getting freeor discounted fares are padding that number?
I hope this new elevator system is better than the Oasis class. When on Harmoney of the Seas, I cannot count the number of times I got tired of waiting and took the stairs. We have not taken that class of ship again because of this issue. loved the ship if it did not have this issue. Also, looking forward to your review with a full week and a fully booked ship. Keep the hard work up you do great reviews. Glad we found your channel.
Hi Justin, this was a great review of the ship. I am so amazed at how beautiful this ship is. That pearl entrance just took my breath away! I always love your content and appreciate what you put out. Also congrats on becoming a travel agent.
If they are building 4 more with a total of 5 there will definitely be some port work going on to fit these ships that's for sure. Dredging, and building some new ones. The one shot of it sitting way out at the end of the port dock looked like a mile away 😂.
Too large, not cruising as I remember it (I've been cruising sing 1991). The emphasis has shifted from quiet and relaxing to crowded and gaudy. Every thing requires a reservation. The reason I started cruising was to get away from the hustle and bushel of reservations required type of vacation.
These guys in 4:38 are from Poland and making the last electrical adjustments. We talked with them a bit, as they are from our home country. And the company that my brother in law works for in Gdynia - did all of the countertops on this ship. Lots of Polish companies were involved in building this vessel.
I have only just started watching your videos and have to say i enjoy them. Straight to the point and an honest review. Icon does look good but will be waiting for further reviews when its full. Looking at it i just dont think there is enough room on the top decks for sunbathing, we all know how full sea days can get at the pools.
Thanks for the review, straight to the point no chaser. I refuse to pay extra to sit on the beach. When we went to Coco Cay the family went to the water park while I headed to South beach at around 10am. I basically had the area to myself for about 3 hours. No kids at all.
I was on the same cruise! I'm right behind you in 0:56 with the balloons - that's too funny! Have a the video that I just posted today - maybe you will see yourself. Small world!
@@sidneyshaw9205 It was an inaugural sailing for the industry people and everything was included. It's not like that on a regular sailing. You have your accommodation and meals included.
I remember, I sailed on Harmony of disease a few months after it was released to the public. The pricing was great. I’m looking at sailing dates and their prices for Icon of the seas in a year from now and they are insanely expensive.
Thanks for the icon review. I would of liked to seen the casino but i guess if youve seen one, you've seen them all. Ill wait a couple years for prices to come down a bit
This looks like my idea of hell. Why be on a boat if you want a mall/resort vibe? I don't get it. I want to always know I am on a mfg boat. Not my cup of tea but it is someone's. Thank you for the view into this ship.
crazy decision by Royal. The aqua theater in the oasis. Class strips were much bigger and were still full and packed during the shows. Royal Caribbean logic: let’s build a bigger ship, but smaller theater
I believe the price for crowns edge is lowered to $39-$49 ( Via Kyle pallo ) most recent vlog due to it having a low amount of sales . Not sure that’s only happening for his cruise tho
Thanks J, my first choice will forever be Virgin Voyages but I have a son who’s turning 16, we’ve had this on the books since 2022 and it’ll be our first RCL. I’ll be booking a Virgin Solo afterward to recover!
Went on Wonder of the Seas and was wondering how this one out shined that one. I know I gave to budget more to be able to get an oceanfront balcony cabin.
Thank you for this information. My family is 20 and we are going for Easter. Just to add, we used to cruise with Disney but we are going to try this out as a different option.
Disney family here!!! Icon caught my husband’s eye and he asked me to book a vacation on this ship. We ended up booking Star of the seas due to port location but we were gearing up to drive to Miami before we saw the new ship (we hated driving that extra 3 hours lol). Now that I see the Wizard of Oz, I’m thinking we should have booked Icon 😭. We booked an oceanview room for 4 for only $4,700 during the week of Veterans Day 2025 on Star of the Seas. Disney’s sailings are not out for that time period but I can tell you it’s $2k cheaper than the 2024 cruise same time period on an older ship Disney Fantasy (we love this ship). We didn’t book the family suite bc it was more and I couldn’t find info on what the difference was. They only had inside and balconies anyway. I’m glad we didn’t book over there.
@@a_goblue2023I just edited the first sentence of my 2nd paragraph to say we booked on Star of the Seas. Disney Fantasy is $2k more than that in 2024 so I can’t imagine how much more Disney Treasure will be 😬 Probably close to double than what we are paying for our RCCL cruise. We are hoping our girls will enjoy it. They hated Carnival Mardi Gras lol. They will be 11 and 12 when we cruise, but I think Star (like Icon) will have plenty of things for them to do!
Thank you. This review is very helpful for those of us who haven’t traveled with Royal Caribbean in a decade and want you to see what’s out there - pretty comprehensive, yet succinct. Even though RCI want to create a ship and environments that meet everyone’s needs, I wonder if those of us who just want a relaxing break, would even find the right neighbourhood to achieve that! As for the limitations with evening entertainment, not being able to necessarily enjoy the shows or restaurants is also daunting. It’s bad enough on ‘regular’ cruises! 😄 Fortunately, it’s too expensive for me, for what you get for your money - but then, I’d be travelling from the UK - cheaper to just choose an All Inclusive vacation in one country in the Caribbean.
Was supposed sail on this next week had the trip booked for 2 years yet the cruise is canceled due to maintenance issues guess it’s limping back to port as we speak very very upset was looking forward to exploring this beautiful ship
Was laughing at the girl really enjoying that chill section. On the food comment it does seem in regular dining which use to be amazing. Has changed to specialty dining. On the destination elevator seems like it should just go to one area. Technology.

I saw another video on Icon and I was going to watch it, until I saw it was 1.5+ hours
I agree very detailed and made very important points of when the ship is at full capacity
I just can't believe it was only sailing a little over half capacity, yet there was no room to watch the shows. This screams disaster. 😬
Tickets were not available to the general public. Half capacity half staff
Half seating.
@@dekdelboy if you watch the video he said the rooms were full. It had nothing to do with tickets. It had to do with how many seats are in the room.

You have to make reservations ahead of time
In harmony of seas they do have atleast 6 aqua shows in a week. I watched 3 times without a problem, no reservation in all times. It maybe a problem for family of more than 3. As they have the data from oasis class, this will workout eventually.

The crowns edge price actually got lowered to $39. Kyle Pallo confirmed in his video. I guess they listened to some of the complaints. $90 is outrageous
Good to know. I agree that is ridiculous
$39 on per days, $49 on sea days
90 bucks is, like, a theme park ticket lol. I wouldn’t pay more than 20 bucks for something like this. Even that’s pushing it.

Kylie Pallo is NOT a trust resource. 😂
Yeah, those prices will definitely not work for me or my family. See you in 5-6 years RC Icon of the Seas. ✌🏾
That's exactly how I feel! When I eventually go on this ship it will be 5-6 years from now.
Prices will go down after it's been sailing for a year or so. Look at Wonder of the Seas or many of the Oasis class ships now. They're literally half the price of Icon or less. I'll probably be booking Icon in 2026 or 2027.
Wonder of the Seas and other Icon class ships give you all the entertainment for half the price and those ships are only 0.6% smaller.
Wait the til the next biggest thing comes out then it’s my time to see the Icon haha
Me too......... I can't drop $10K on a family VC for 7 days.... it's cheaper to go to Dustin and rent a condo for $5K
Booked a surf side family suite for 8,300 almost 2 years ago, it’ll be our first cruise ever. Can’t wait to finally sail this April.
Now that's a good first cruise, congrats!
You are going to absolutely love It. Make sure to plan out your days and do lots of research. The shows on royalty are Broadway quality. Plan around the shows. Food is good just don’t have super high expectations for the free stuff. It’s free lol
Other wise like I said. Shows shows shows. And walk around the ship. There’s time to see everything. It’s not about relaxing every single day. Go explore. It’s a lot of fun
This as your first cruise is gonna be awesome!!!
Same here. Would love A older smaller boat.
Same here. Would love A older smaller boat.
Smaller ships aren't fun. U know nothing about cruises
The ship is beyond huge. 7,000 people is too many on a ship. I couldn't. The price for the family suite is outrageous.😲
You wouldn’t really notice all of those people really. The ship is like a small city
not really tho. THe ship is massive so you dont notice it as much . Maybe around the pool areas. We were just on Adventure of Seas and didnt feel crowded exept for pool
75,000 a week for a townhome suite??? Man that’s crazy
Crazy that it’s already sold out for the year.
You can have 15 Atlantic crossings on Cunard Queen Mary Queens Grill class for $75,000!!
That's double occupancy but not alcohol, specialty dining, or cigars in Churchill's Lounge.
Damn people got money out there lol (not me lol)
it's actually more than that
I ain't got that kind of bread some do 😂😂😂😂❤❤❤😊
I'm borderline with it.
It's not for anyone with common sense. You'll be paying more for a less exclusive experience.
😂😂😂
Pleebian cruising 😂
Exactly my thoughts. I don't go to amusement parks on land, so why would I go to one on a ship. The ship looks hideous and tacky.
same here big ship but not much space available for us to enjoy shows and eat
@@bflo716Oh wow! Thanks for the heads-up 💯
I hope the Destination elevator gives Seniors and those with disabilities enough time to get to them.
it should. you get told right away what elevator is being selected so I would assume unless it's already on the deck your at you'll have pleanty of time. and that's coming from someone who needs a walker.
That is one advantage of these elevators. People can't randomly stand in front of one anymore.
Yes, I have to look out for friends who have walkers and wheelchairs that want to go on ships for their vacations. I hope this new large cruise ship will work out the small brand new problems to get things operating well.😊
I like that it's huge and has lots of stuff to do but it's so expensive!
It's half a car length longer than Wonder of the Seas...... It's not groundbreaking at all except for the price.
@@spudhandle It's not the length that makes the largest. It's much wider than Wonder allowing for a much bigger surface area.
Absolutely amazing footage that captures the size of that place. It's so massive that I'd consider it to be a floating city. :)
It does! Too much going on!
I can’t wait to get on It
These massive ships are taking away the excitement of the port of calls.
Thanks for the review! my family is going on in March so I was very eager to hear your analysis
Destination elevator??? Does it go to Cozumel?
That's awesome!😂😂
That's good!!!!!
Fantasy Island Wishes! 😅😂
Hilarious
One of the things that I absolutely loved about Oasis-class ships is that they have two flowriders which helps a lot with crowd-control. I was shocked to find out that Icon-class only has one which will make it very crowded there.
You gave a great presentation.
Due to the size, the Ship becomes the destination. Port stops are a bonus. Great review Jay.
@@caroleceres it really is more the ship mindset.
Thanks Justin. My family and I are booked on icon for March (Spring Break) Excited to check everything out
I always appreciate your honest and unbiased reviews. Amazing job bro. 💯🔥
Thank you bro! Someone has to keep it real
Same!
$90 for a not even 5 minute experience? Yeah no, thats too much.
Hi Jay ! It’s a bit much ! We prefer a more classy, elegant cruise ships ! Not a theme park on the water ! But it gives an option for all of us ! We prefer the Princess Regal class ! Thx for sharing 🥰
Check out Paul Gauguin cruises! Sounds right up your alley. I’ve been 4 times and it’s first class
I was just on Regal. Wasn't really my vibe (skewed a bit too old for me), but I still had an enjoyable cruise.
You should try carnival Venezia . Very classy, elegant ‘ beautiful. I’ve been on it once so far I just booked again for March 25
I’m going on Icon in June! Im so excited and can’t wait! Glad to hear you enjoyed your time on board and thanks for the review! You always give such an honest and unbiased opinion. 😊
I'm jealous!!! I saw the ship up close at Coco Cay!!! Enjoy!!! I feel excited for you!!!!
How was it?
Great review my kids were on Oasis for a Mediterranean cruise last year and was upset that we didn’t enjoy the ship much, so I think the ship being the destination is attracting the younger generation and could be a very real attraction with the icon ship
I think they might have priced themselves out of affordability and which they supposed to be a family cruise and maybe people 40 and up my payable to Force of the prices down either needs to be some legislation or people just not book on icon of the season till the price start dropping
You say that, yet people have been paying high fares on Disney for years.
What I'm saying is icon of the seas is asking for Disney prices and still wanting to nickel and dine you
I dont see an incentive to pay for the "private island" at $39-89 dollars...especially when they own the private island, lol.
just certain activities on it not basic use of island
The island is FREE, select things cost extra.
I'm looking forward to being on it March and April for a total of 2 weeks. Looks amazing to me!
That's the whole point of a ship like this. If you want a relaxing quiet cruise then you can go on a different ship or cruise line
You’re basing the entirety of cruising off of one ship.
Reel it in.
I couldn't imagine going on a ship this large! Maybe one day...
Yes, me too! But I’m guessing that I wouldn’t even see half of it!
I wonder if it would be worth it …?
I agree about the elevators. I was on the 3 night after yours and I found the elevators at times to be extremely slow and still packed with people.
they are slow for safety lol
I’ve been on 14 cruises so I’m a pretty seasoned cruiser. The thing that always annoys me is the nickel and dimeing guests. It’s expensive to cruise it should be ALL inclusive. Also allow enough shows for everyone to see.
Great video Jay!! (Can’t wait to sail on Icon in October!!) We love cruising!! Can’t wait to see more!! Thank you!!!😊❤
Carnival Horizon have destination elevators….We loved it!
@@gerardmackay8909 well said! Have a wonderful end of January 😁
$10k/person/week nightmare. A vacation that compares to a Black Friday week at the mall. Ugh...
This ship will no doubt be a frenzy of screaming kids and families; not my type of cruise.
75K for a suite means they are not gearing to the average cruisers, RCL trying to upscale. But how could you crowded shows with standing rooms with half capacity.
It will be interesting to see how that works since RCL is considered budget cruise line along with CCL and NCL.
Amusement parks,, restaurants ,,motel rooms shoppin malls,,theaters etc etc all in one on the sea,,,thats what i sea in the icon of the see😮
We will be going on icon in May and so excited!
Great review! i've only been on Quantum of the Seas which I thought was huge. That Icon of the Seas looks so much bigger
3==
exactly, 100 bucks for the ropes course is ridiculous...i cant imagine anyone paying to do that.
Great video. Good and honest. I like your style. Keep up the good work. But 75k a week for a cruise is a bit much. And sold out for an entire? I wonder how many RC execs and dignitaries who are getting freeor discounted fares are padding that number?
Thanks! I’m Wowed but will probably not do this one. Hoping rumors are true that they’ll be building smaller ships soon
Thank you for your honest review. I loved the video content. Made me feel like I was on board.
Looking forward to our cruise next week!
Too large, not cruising as I remember it (I've been cruising sing 1991). The emphasis has shifted from quiet and relaxing to crowded and gaudy. Every thing requires a reservation. The reason I started cruising was to get away from the hustle and bushel of reservations required type of vacation.
Nobody’s going to mention the dead lady at 7:58, already drank too much, lol
See her now😂 good eye
Kathy is having a great cruise!
These guys in 4:38 are from Poland and making the last electrical adjustments. We talked with them a bit, as they are from our home country. And the company that my brother in law works for in Gdynia - did all of the countertops on this ship. Lots of Polish companies were involved in building this vessel.
Thank you Jay for another very detailed video. All the best from Sydney Australia 🇦🇺
I was on Oasis those clubs were lit! Had a blast! Then hit the free pizza at 3 or 4 am. Tons of baddies😄
Indeed!
Congrats on becoming a Travel Advisor. Best decision I ever made even when people told me I was crazy!
I was on the same cruise! I'm right behind you in 0:56 with the balloons - that's too funny! Have a the video that I just posted today - maybe you will see yourself. Small world!
You mind telling what all. Was included in the price?
@@sidneyshaw9205 It was an inaugural sailing for the industry people and everything was included. It's not like that on a regular sailing. You have your accommodation and meals included.
I remember, I sailed on Harmony of disease a few months after it was released to the public. The pricing was great. I’m looking at sailing dates and their prices for Icon of the seas in a year from now and they are insanely expensive.
I have a hard time walking around a super walmart. I think I'll stick to a smaller ship 😲
Shipping out in summer. Been following closely. Appreciate your reviews and opinions about the ship. Looking forward to my travels

You definitely have to book one. Cruises are fun!!
This looks like my idea of hell. Why be on a boat if you want a mall/resort vibe? I don't get it. I want to always know I am on a mfg boat. Not my cup of tea but it is someone's. Thank you for the view into this ship.
This is just really proving that royal is not for me. Great review!
Thank you for watching!
I wish the cruise ships aired the shows on the stateroom tvs or other venues for people who can't get into the theater.
crazy decision by Royal. The aqua theater in the oasis. Class strips were much bigger and were still full and packed during the shows. Royal Caribbean logic: let’s build a bigger ship, but smaller theater
LOL. 😂
Free slides and flow rider, ok im listening....
Imma wait til next year when the newness wears off 👍🏾
Love the format of your videos. It makes sense in my brain lol. No fancy effects just the truth.
Wow the Modern Day Titanic! I Pray to God that it stays safe on the Sea 🌊 it Looks Beautiful.❤
That might be the first and only time Disney will ever be cheaper for anything 😂 I’ve never seen a Disney cruise under 8k for a week
Fortunately, it’s too expensive for me, for what you get for your money - but then, I’d be travelling from the UK - cheaper to just choose an All Inclusive vacation in one country in the Caribbean.
Doing B2Bs on Icon in April. Looks like we’re going to need both weeks.
Technology.
Just joined your channel, I click so I can get a first hand view of this new ship looks humongous, I would love to go on a cruise since I’ve never been on a cruise in my life. Thanks for doing such a great job on reviewing this ship. Hopefully, I’ll make that happen soon and go on a cruise.
I hope the price goes down some day. Would love to experience this massive ship.
Wow. Just seems like a huge tourist trap. Literally. They have you trapped onboard and then charge you outrageous fees for absolutely everything.
This ship is gaudy and I feel everything should be included there should be no extra fees it's like a stick up without a gun.
i dont understand it either...especially when they own their own beach island that they are charging $39-89 bucks a person...thats insane..i can stay on the boat in the pool for "free"
Great review. I think Disney people will always choose a Disney ship over Icon, but if you're not into Disney, this is a great water play area.
