@genitagray6126 It's a new day! They have cruises for people that suite you, maybe find those instead of complain about new features they should have made.

Think thats the issue. smaller ships are generally fine for 3-4 days, in terms of 'stuff to do'. oasis class ships are 7+ day cruises in terms of shows, dining venues, etc. idk if you can even optimize every show and dining location and party in 4 days. Maybe you should try that! Equivalent of ppl doing like all rides in a day without fast pass challenges at disney lol.

Just came of Utopia last week. ALL IN Was absolutely awesome! Having sailed on Oasis just before Covid, This ship really didn’t overwhelm me….except for the Solarium…enjoyed breakfast and lunch without the kids…much more relaxing. The ship was beautiful, but again, it wasn’t overwhelming, in fact I was ready to go home…got a little bored at the end.

Really appreciate the speed of presentation and whats good and not so good! I too start getting sleepy when the show is not engaging, regardless of how masterful the performers are, which is a shame because performers usually at top notch.
A ship of this magnitude IS the destination. Notice how short the actual "cruise" is ? They've basically designed a "resort hotel at sea". When you home port in Florida, and set up itineraries to the Bahamas for 3/4 days, you operate at maximum revenue while burning a minimum of fuel. The revenue of a full ship doesn't change from day to day. But the operating expenses DO change based on the nautical miles traveled. Why travel 2,000+ miles on a 7 day cruise when you can sail just a couple hundred miles during the same 7 days ?
@@kay22100 I think the problem is Kay they don't really take some of the big ships anywhere spectacular a lot of the time. Admittedly the cost of actually cruising to far away places will notch up the $ costs! The Amazon, and South American ports can be stunning places to visit. However each to his or her own! If you like just hanging out on the ship then good for you. Port days can be great if you just want some space on the ship and chill! 😉👍
All the new cruise ships do Caribbean so like Disney and carnival too. It’s so bring in new cruisers with shorter durations and an effort for repeat customers.
Hi! New subscriber here! I took my very first cruise ever last week on the Carnival Jubilee and I had an absolute ball! The cruise life got me HOOKED! I really want to do a Royal Caribbean cruise next so I've been doing some research but this cruise looks amazing so I'll definitely go look into it more! I love the whole train depot and the built in food truck is sick! Thanks for this review! 😊
That is where I am now too. I am happy to have cruised on an Oasis class ship and on an Excel class ship so I am now cruising on the older ships more and getting a lot more for my money. I like the smaller ships better anyway. I don't need all the water stuff and slides. I'm good with shows, comedy and good food.
This! We just got off our first cruise ever onboard Symphony OTS this month for seven nights and these Utopia OTS weekend sailings are the same price that we paid when I booked Symphony last year. They’re making the same money in half the time, half the over head. It’s genius on their part.
I hear that, it seems all of the shorter cruises are just Nassau and CocoCay. It would be nice to try a few other ships while going to a couple of different locations.
Exactly there are ten ports on the Carrib and they are all the same. All these islands are now American-ish. Good thing the carrib never really had a culture before discovery. It is like downtown Topeka these days. I was nicer before it turned American.
Just got off. I loved it. I’m on vacation. No need for FOMO. I enjoyed what was there, at my leisure. Solution, take a longer cruise or get on a smaller ship. It should be obvious what one is getting into. People complained that 7 days were not enough for these ships.
I’ve worked RCCL, Carnival, Princess and Azamara. The hang in the orchestra was best with Princess and Azamara. Both had exquisite food. We worked hard on Azamara. When are you cruising with Azamara?
As a TA, that had sailed on many cruises, I would stay in the ship to explore more and take advantage of getting my Wow while a majority of the shipmates are ashore. Thank you for your input. You are my #1 content creator for cruising.
Who wants to stay on a tin can while there are fun things to do on shore. The ship is just the transportation. It's crowded and it aint that nice to be honest.
Was just on this ship last week with my wife. My first cruise ever but my wife grew up going on cruises. We had an inward facing balcony overlooking Central Park on the 11th floor and honestly we didn’t have an issue with outside noise, and my wife is a light sleeper. I felt the room was much better at limiting outside noise than I expected. However, everything else he pointed out is spot on. It felt rushed, timing for stuff was off, and the food I felt was very underwhelming. We got lucky and got on the railway dinner show thing when someone cancelled and that food was better. The short ribs were truly spectacular. It seems this ship was trying to push specialty dining for the extra money. Which is fine but when I’d rather have eggo waffles than the waffles on a massive cruise line supposedly known for their food, that’s a problem. Everything was just bland and tasted low quality, mainly speaking to the Windjammer. I was really looking forward to the food and was kinda bummed tbh. Shows were great and really was the highlight of the cruise. That being said, we will definitely be back but not sure if it will be on Utopia until they offer 5-7 day cruises. 3 days, especially without a day at sea, just isn’t enough to truly enjoy everything on the ship. Didn’t like feeling like I was running around like a chicken with my head cut off trying to play mental chess with how to spend our limited time on the ship.
I am happy to have cruised on an Oasis class ship and on an Excel class ship so I am now cruising on the older ships more and getting a lot more for my money. I like the smaller ships better anyway. I don't need all the water stuff and slides. I'm good with shows, comedy and good food.

Looks like a huge floating city! Caters to a specific group of consumers I guess. I’d probably get completely lost! 😂 The rooms and food look really nice. Overall, I’d prefer a smaller and quieter cruise.
good video brother. for me 3 or 4 day sailings are just too short ( im out of state from florida) . Even if you do back to back sailings you still going to the same port which is kind of a waste if that makes sense coco cay. Don't get me wrong im loyal to royal ,to me is seems like after some time, i think these 3 and 4 night cruises are going flop to a point ( you really dont enjoy yourself you feel rushed all the time) . I have 8 day cruise coming on adventure OTS and 9 day on celebrity eclipse.
Thanks for an awesome video. I was curious as to what the covid protocols have become since they've resumed cruising or was there any issues? Once again, great video!
The smart elevators are great if you are on the lower floors, (cove balconies on Carnival). Carnival doesn’t have them on the newest monster ships though. Guess that’s because many couldn’t figure them out. I wouldn’t want to be on a lower floor of a monster ship without them.
The short sailings are a waste of money and time IMO. Barely get on the ship and its time to get off. I like a long cruise, I'd do a world cruise if I could afford it. Our next is in September and its a 15 day cruise to Hawaii.
Any reason why you commented? Trying to figure this out? I think someone is bragging about they can afford a two week cruise and wants people who only have the time and money for a tree day cruise to feel like a loser. Some of us think the whole industry is for losers but we try to be polite about it. If they are floating around in a tin can, they aint taking resources up at the Hilton pool. Right?
I don’t get a three night cruise a four night yeah yeah I get it 3 Nights Way too short but each it own When it comes down to three day cruise, it’s great for a first time cruise
So I appreciate your video because it isn’t “fluff”. Some may take offense to the rather pessimistic take but my bride and I are sailing out on the 16th of Sept for our 5th year anniversary, and I truly appreciate the TRUTH (from your perspective of course) about what to expect. I really believe we will be slightly overwhelmed with all that is available to see and do in just a 5 day/4 night cruise (her first cruise ever) but I did find the idea in your video of the back to back cruise to make it a 7 day rather intriguing.. wonderful idea… even down to the ports (not seeing or doing everything you wanted to do on the 3 day.. you can do on the 4 day when you go back). Last note: I hope the walls aren’t as thin as you suggest 😏
These bigger ships make me afraid that I'll get lost, wandering the halls and never finding my way back to my cabin! Looks like a fun time, though! Thanks for your honesty and great videos!
Everything is labeled and there are maps everywhere. If you get lost, just ask crew or turn around. Go try it out. Great times to be had on Oasis class ships for sure.
I just got off Allure of the Seas. 4 day cruise, same itinerary different port. I literally was running around trying to get to everything. I attended 2 of the 3 shows, one game show and 2 comedy shows. Even on day at sea I still missed alot of stuff lol. Its terrible on port days because you literally have time for one or two things. We got back on the ship at 5pm took a nap and attended dinner by 7. Enough time for one show and one activity
If I am going on a ship that is that big and has so many venues, then I want to cruise more the 3 or 4 days. Departing and Leaving takes two days so if it's 3 day you really only have one day to enjoy the ship, two if it's 4 days.
I don't think they count the departure morning as one of the cruise days. So for a 3 day cruise, you board around noon on day one, and I think day 2 and 3 are full, you depart on the morning of day 4. At least this is how it typically works.
My experience with RCL (Navigator) last October? The upcharge restaurants, Chops and Jamie's Italian, were disappointing. Especially Jamie's...to call that "Italian" is insulting. The Olive Garden, not exactly fine Italian dining, is actually better. And that's just sad.
With a ship like this I would love at least a week just on it, maybe one or two ports. A transatlantic would be perfect. I am the type to try to explore every part of the ship and do as many activities as I can!
We are on the 5 day sailing at the end of August. I would never book a ship this size for 3 or 4 days. Shoot forreal forreal 5 days is too short for me, but it's a brand new ship. This may be a one and done for me.
I have only been on a smaller ship for a short cruise but am booked on Utopia for next year. I have a question and I am being quite honest when I ask. On a ship this size, do you really have to go see all the shows, try all the things and hit all the restaurants? I have pretty simple tastes and am actually going on this trip to get away from every day stress and just relax, not for the other stuff. I watch these videos and read the comments and everyone is saying you can't get to everything, but how weird is it that I just want to be on the ship and relax and I am not upset that I have to pay more to get the relaxation I want? I admit I did not pick this ship as I am going with a friend and her family and they picked the ship, but I am just looking forward to not working and just relaxing...am I looking at this cruise wrong?
Hi, I would think regardless of the ship size, do as little or as much as you want, your choice. not everyone wants to go to the bar, or the pool, just do you and have a good time!!
Never!!! I’ve done them and they are boring. Yes, they are very nice looking ships but the vibe is definitely not “it.” Even the club and sail away parties are too conservative for me. I’ll stay on the newly termed “Walmart of the Seas” any day !!! Carnival all day long !!!
@@CathyEM The entire vibe is fun. The workers get you involved in the party and you literally meet people as soon as you leave your home port. There is lots of participation from cruisers and Carnival promotes that. Also, it is packed and the more the merrier. As on this video, not many people are even there for the RC party and the vibe is dead. As this creator said, it’s the “who” that is on the ship that makes the cruise. Most Carnival passengers appear to be more loose and free, whereas I found lots of RC passengers to be “stuck up” quite frankly. It was too much like business and not about fun.
@@biggareid I’ve made it back from 10 cruises with no issues whatsoever from Carnival. I’ll continue to take my chances. Enjoy your RC. Carnival Jubilee is up next for me 🛳️!!!!
Speaking of honest reviews, I want to know what are your thoughts about the Australia break dancer at the recently concluded Olympics. You should do a video on that.
I never knew there was all these things on these ships. I knew about rooms, pools and a buffet but I didn’t know about restaurants, shows night clubs, gym’s ect you’re already on a vacation before you even leave the dock.
As a musician at RCCL, the gig got worse and worse. When I started, we could do Windjammer. When I went back, the MD had to approve Windjammer in advance. They even took away cabin attendants (that we paid for). Cabin bathrooms looked like jail. The bigger they get, the cheaper on staff they become.
Aqua Show- my favorite was Big Daddy, on Harmony. Best part of the ship! It had amazing music, great theme and synchronized swimming. The food and service was awful, even in specialized dining- 150 gave me a dose of food poisoning due to fish cooked incorrectly and Caesar salad on a warm plate. It was documented as food poisoning! 😮
Eventually I might check out Utopia of the Seas HOWEVER I am not interested in spending that outrageous cost for a short cruise. I love Oasis class ships and have cruised on Symphony of of the Seas so I have an idea of what Utopia is like and I can wait a while to cruise on her. Good review though Jay. Thanks so much.

Some of us think the whole industry is for losers but we try to be polite about it. If they are floating around in a tin can, they aint taking resources up at the Hilton pool. Right?
Do you have to pay for the restaurants like Giovanni's or is that included in the fare? ( never sailed with RC before)
I don’t get a three night cruise a four night yeah yeah I get it 3 Nights Way too short but each it own When it comes down to three day cruise, it’s great for a first time cruise
Need to get back to smaller ships and longer cruises without the wizwang
They have ships for that. This is for first timers and people who want to have fun and not have to think of the the everyday stress
awesome life you live man. I dont think I can handle it as a massive introvert, but I fw it

Sailing on Utopia in a few months!!🎉Great review!!😊
I can't wait. LOYAL TO ROYAL.
I love your videos you are very knowledgeable keep them coming please do another video on virgin thank you again
You have the best job ever!
Have u done a video on MSC cruises ? I’m thinking trying one out from Orlando
Cruise ships should put sound proof materials on the walls more people definitely have to complain so they add that on future ships
Do you have to disembark on back to back sailings if youre staying in the same stateroom?
I think they should have a silent disco - Our Celebrity Reflection cruise did that - it was super fun! But I still love Royal Caribbean the best..
Could you do a review on the regent seven seas? I would love to hear anything or any input you have to say about Regent
Great times to be had on Oasis class ships for sure.
will you ever go on the carnival valor
Yes. I’ve been trying to get over there
@JSHIPLIFE let's go I went on there twice and it's been fun every time, I just recently got off of the valor on the 18th.
Agreed, I was thinking about back to back because 3-4 days is too short.
Aqua show was FANTASTIC!
DJ Run in the house!!!
I've been looking forward to this video, I have yet to experience a mega mega ship.
Where would you say would be the best deck to get a room on?
For some reason I'm not feeling this super big cruises. I'm going in the NCl Prima and the tours are ridiculously expensive.
Did you run into Tony from "La Lido Loca"?
No. I believe he was on the first Public Sailing after I disembarked, but I could be wrong
Great review! I felt the same about the aqua show on Symphony, Hiro. I found that boring too. And I usually LOVE the aqua shows.
With a ship like this I would love at least a week just on it, maybe one or two ports. A transatlantic would be perfect. I am the type to try to explore every part of the ship and do as many activities as I can!
This cruise is good for those who went to the parks for a few days and add a cruise to extend vacation.
True!
YES! This is exactly what we’re doing, in March! Disney a couple of days, then relaxing on this beautiful ship. ❤
Our party was great. Your cruise folks seem fancier.
We are on the 5 day sailing at the end of August. I would never book a ship this size for 3 or 4 days. Shoot forreal forreal 5 days is too short for me, but it's a brand new ship. This may be a one and done for me.
This ship is only 3 or 4 days. So what ship are you going on?
@@tiberiajames5997 It will be 3 or 4 days starting in September.
I love the super school of alligator Lacosse shirt!
Do they have dressy dinner night with the gowns?
For me I live to far away to do make a short cruise worth my money but still cool to see new ships
Beautiful ship! Thank you very much for sharing all the information! Bur where did you see $400 per person? It is much more. New subscriber here.
We booked at 600 per person for a balcony. 400 was offered when we booked.
And this is why you all need to be Loyal to Royal!!! 😁
Never!!! I’ve done them and they are boring. Yes, they are very nice looking ships but the vibe is definitely not “it.” Even the club and sail away parties are too conservative for me. I’ll stay on the newly termed “Walmart of the Seas” any day !!! Carnival all day long !!!
@@MicrosoftWest Curious - what aspects of the Carnival sailaway parties appeal to you the most?
@@CathyEM The entire vibe is fun. The workers get you involved in the party and you literally meet people as soon as you leave your home port. There is lots of participation from cruisers and Carnival promotes that. Also, it is packed and the more the merrier. As on this video, not many people are even there for the RC party and the vibe is dead. As this creator said, it’s the “who” that is on the ship that makes the cruise. Most Carnival passengers appear to be more loose and free, whereas I found lots of RC passengers to be “stuck up” quite frankly. It was too much like business and not about fun.
@@MicrosoftWest ohhh no bbI value my life . When you sale Carnival you may not make it back 😂😂😂
@@biggareid I’ve made it back from 10 cruises with no issues whatsoever from Carnival. I’ll continue to take my chances. Enjoy your RC. Carnival Jubilee is up next for me 🛳️!!!!
Speaking of honest reviews, I want to know what are your thoughts about the Australia break dancer at the recently concluded Olympics. You should do a video on that.
Can’t wait to go on this ship!! Thank you
I never knew there was all these things on these ships. I knew about rooms, pools and a buffet but I didn’t know about restaurants, shows night clubs, gym’s ect you’re already on a vacation before you even leave the dock.
I'm going on the Utopia in December. I enjoyed your video.
You took me out with that hat🤣🤣🤣🤣 Thanks for the great video! Very informative.
1:16 damn I gotta get a job there 😂😂
Will be sailing on it Monday
You’re rocking that hat!!😊
Thanks!
I received a casino offer that included Utopia jr suite but i dont want to fly somewhere for a 4 day cruise
Lol.. love your video but did you really say “nothing to sneeze at” in reference to a buffet style restaurant (Windjammer) 🤣 Keeo up the good work.
Thank you for visiting my island 🇧🇸 Dave
Aye family! It's been a few since I last tuned in... life and whatnot. Why'd you chop your locs?!?! 🤦🏾♂️
Growing them back! A barber in Mexico did me dirty lol
