That post game slander is quite me literally. I just "finished" the game a few weeks ago, and that scene with the Duke, the sky turned dark, and there's a freaking giant sinkhole in the city which turns out to be the Everfall. All that just blows my mind.
How did you like hellhound infested roads, grim goblins stomping your face and dragon's being a common sight outside of Gran Soren?

Personally I like the current balance of DD story being single player with Pawns. However, I would still like to play with friends in one of my favorite games. If they added liek a hoard mode, rougelite mode, or chalice dungeon I'd be pretty happy.
@XwasredX I feel like the balance for multi-player wouldn't shake it up too bad because the only reason pawns DPS isn't as crazy is the vocation restrictions and they don't always do the most optimal thing. All of the vocations have access to some RIDICULOUS DPS tools it's just a matter of knowing how to use them. And with no scaling the balance goes from "these bandits are 1 shotting me" to "oh look a dragon, *"X" equipment is now dragonforged*" pretty quickly outside of BBI so I don't think balance is the issue. I feel like they don't want to have to actually deal with multi-player connections at all and that's it. I mean look at how they did it for DMC 5. People thought it'd be drop in drop out co-op but it wasn't anywhere close to that.
@@ShadowNemesis575 Can't take the risk that the coop mode would even rob the game of 1 yen of budget. Plenty other games to play coop, only ONE Dragon's Dogma 2.
@@ShadowNemesis575 Maybe not so much Drop In, but "Drop-Out" wouldn't be a bad descriptor for DMC5 multiplayer.
I think I only stayed connected to another player from start to finish of Missions 7 and 13 once.

I'm still trying to this day to complete his bestiary. It's real hard since he tends to walk into one-shot attacks everytime I attempt to show him a new technique to defeat any enemy Cx

Yeah, I mean the game can't be balanced around both co op and single player, Dark Souls/Elden Ring are good proof of that. It takes a challenge and turns it into a joke. Besides, the improved pawn AI should make for a truly special experience.
I was disapointed but I would rather have another Dragon's Dogma than nothing, plus the DDO private server is making progress so if I ever wanted to I know it is a possibility.
@@GeminiFate Dark Souls and Elden Ring aren't really good proof considering it's highly dependent on which boss you're fighting. Coop can straight up make a boss fight harder than it was solo. Aside from that multiple games have been able to balance both co-op and single player.
I don’t mind DD having no co-op, but the problem with co-op in DkS/ER is that you don’t have to be specialized in a role - because you aren’t expected to work in a party. Besides they’re totally different games, I hate when people compare Souls to everything or treat it like the standard for action RPGs when it has so many of its own set of problems (speaking as a veteran player).
The damage Souls games have done to the arpg hack and slash genre honestly sometimes feels like what Gears of War did to third person shooters
@@uggachugga760 People are comparing them because in this case the comparison is extremely apt. Both are mostly single player action rpgs. But souls has the option for direct multiplayer just like what co-op people want for dragon's dogma. And the souls series has repeatedly and definitively proven that the mere existence of optional co-op in a game results in design decisions that bleed over and affect the single player experience. Pawns already work as a fun way to interact with other players without having to change the gameplay to suit direct multiplayer.

My character is relatively short, so I never thought Selene seemed like a loli. The only thing that ever gave me that vibe was her hairdo, which I'm not crazy about anyway. I just like witchy girls, and she's by far the most interesting and endearing character in the game (which isn't saying much because most of the characters have the personality of damp cardboard).

I can agree with that take. I never cared much for her but I do like her 'story' quite a bit. Not just because I'm also a fan of witches but because of how her background explores the relationship between pawn and Arisen. I'm sure she'd be one of my favorite characters if she didn't, you know, look like bait.
Thank you for giving the absolute banger that is the metal version of the boss theme the recognition it deserves despite not being in the game.

Honestly, I've talked about this before with the community but, as cool as Into Free is, the Dark Arisen theme is beautiful and fits the game much, much better thematically, imo. So I'm pretty okay with the switch.

Also fun fact it's possible to transfer saves from console to PC but not if you played the original version of the game, only possible if your save was made in ddda. Because of this it actually took me like 3 years to actually try the PC version, and then I 100% it and speedran the game under 35 minutes, and got my brother into the series after curating a modpack just for him to help with the jankness of the game.

My first (and possibly my favourite playtrough) was with mystick knight that looked like meme Chad. Such a damn fun way to play. Just Full Counter everything.
Actually playing Mystic Knight with a staff now and its damn fun. Sopor, Brontide, Holy Focused Bolt (when my sorc pawn feels like it) and Comestion, rusted staff for torpor and poison and a BB staff for damage. Its suprisingly usefull.

As someone who romances mercedes every playthrough, I have never even read Berserk. I just like the cute knight princess with the nice accent.
(Honestly Berserk seems a bit rough for my soft empathetic heart. I know its really good but I don't want to put myself through that emotional pain just yet...)
