'Like Medieval Times': Finnish Politician Prosecuted For Biblical Views Reacts to 'Crazy' Trial

- A Finnish politician who recently faced her second criminal trial for sharing biblical views on sexuality described her legal nightmare as "absurd," "crazy" and akin to "medieval times." "It was absurd and it was crazy that I had to defend the biblical truths and my interpretation about the Bible, my faith, and my beliefs in front of the judges," Dr. Päivi Räsänen, the embattled member of Finland’s parliament, told CBN’s Faithwire of her recently completed trial. "It is like in medieval times."
Räsänen said the prosecutor gave "false statements" about her writings and comments, claiming she had "said that some people are inferior to others" - something the politicians dismissed as patently untrue. "I think that all people are equal," Räsänen said. "We all are sinners; we all are need - in need of grace, what Jesus has given, but the prosecutor was very stubborn with these arguments, even though the district court had already said that they didn't find such statements in my writings or in my pamphlet." She added, "But the prosecutor said that it is not important if it is true or not, but if the interpretation is insulting, then it is criminal."
Räsänen explained why she believes the entire ordeal is truly "dangerous," explaining why the government's attempts to define truth and morality are so concerning. "It is not a court that should decide what is the right interpretation of the Bible and what is not," she said. "Because I think that this kind of interpretation of discussions ... it is not the court who starts to teach about the Bible or discuss what is the right interpretation of the Bible."
As CBN's Faithwire has reported, Räsänen's plight began June 17, 2019, when she tweeted the text of Romans 1:24-27, which condemns homosexuality as sinful. Watch her react to the trial and share her story.

What she was was saying is that the prosecutors said that it doesn’t matter if they didn’t find hateful content in what she said but its how the prosecutor interprets what was said.
Which is nonsense, a different view of gay marriage isn’t hateful and the people that reviewed what she said didn’t interpret or find anything hateful.

Classical Christianity written about in the bible was pieced together from several different texts, written by several different people, at varying different years, from different viewpoints found in several different places. Not all the texts found are included in the bible. They were literally plucked and pieced together by the "rich, educated religious rulers" to fit a certain story and timeline. The king James bible was REWRITTEN at King James order to fit his agenda of the time. Women's stories and historical religious contributions were erased from the texts completely or minimized. She's uneducated in every single aspect of the Bible and it's textual meaning so she definitely should not be telling anyone else they are a sinner and need Jesus and the biblical teachings. Let alone dictate to others who should marry or not marry.

When anyone opposes and exposes the spirit of the devil; this is the ultimate outcome when his efforts to persecute and prosecute us does not get us on his side. She is certainly no biblical scholar: she should get up to speed with the scholarly consensus about these poorly understood ancient texts before pontificating about something of which she has such a poor grasp. You would have to decide on which aspect of "unchangingness" you which to adopt, through tradition/church teaching/faith etc., and then read that back, by serpentine interpretations, into the various disparate presentations of the deity to be found throughout the OT and NT.
