    That Voodoo V8 is impressive, one of the best sounding V8's in the world.
    Ford has been really killing it lately getting performance to the people. The GT350(R), Ford GT, new Raptor, and especially that little gem which is the Focus RS.
    I would have chosen Ruby Red though instead. 2nd nicest color Ford has now next to Nitrous Blue.

    Great videos, I prefer the GT350 as it would be driven on the streets and not a track car. The R with it's carbon fiber wheels are very expensive just imagine curbing them, the car was built for the track where it should be driven.

    • @abbuudjb3127
      @abbuudjb3127 7 лет назад +4

      09GT500 who cares i would take the R !!!

    • @HawaiiC6
      @HawaiiC6 7 лет назад +2

      Abbuud Jb, I would too but reality sets in and I could not afford the car repairs and the insurance for the car. My choice is being realistic. Just as it were with my GT500 compared to the King of the Road.

    • @AB-308
      @AB-308 7 лет назад +1

      Curbing the wheels isn't an issue - one becomes well aware of the $ when considering parking spots/maneuvers and those types of silly risk based mistakes are eliminated.

    • @leroyjenkins6809
      @leroyjenkins6809 7 лет назад

      09GT500 you can't really curb carbon fiber wheels. Carbon fiber is 300x stronger than steel.

    • @MrBinks-un8ju
      @MrBinks-un8ju 7 лет назад +2

      The on;y major difference if it could be called that is the carbon fiber wheels. Which in my opinion doesn't warrant a $25K+ mark up. Otherwise the R and the standard are the exact same car. One is just sold at a stupid high premium for some red stitching, badges, and carbon fiber wheels.

    The GT 350's have a 25k to 35k markup over MSRP in Southern California. So, if I want a 350, it will cost me 85k to 95k. The 350R don't exist in California. Very likely I will buy a regular GT premium with the performance package instead.

    Thanks Mitchel for the review, good job on it. I almost bought a GT350R from Duval Ford here in Jacksonville FL but they had a dealership up charge on it and wouldn't remove it. I am glad because it made me look at other options and ended up with a much better car. I bought a Racing Red GT Premium Mustang at Gaudin Ford in Las Vegas and had them drive over to Shelby American to build me 1 of 500 2017 Super Snake 50th Anniversary 750HP. Chris Ruby at Shelby did a great job helping all the way through the buying period and build.

Ive owned Mustangs all my life and traded in a 04 terminator Cobra for the Shelby... a legend for another legend. It was a hard choice choosing a gt350 R (used) over a bran new spanking gt350 but I ended up going with the new one due to Fords factory warranty!!! either way... you cant go wrong :) one happy camper!!!

Also wanted to add and I know it's two years later but same suspension here on the normal 350 as the R. Just slightly tuned differently. Mag ride is standard 2017 model year forward -
    Also like my wheels better then the R 's .....only thing I would like is that R spoiler!

    The GT350R is not even close to worth the $30k+ ADM's these dealerships are asking. The "regular" GT350 can be had fairly easily for < $5k ADM and even sticker (MSRP) is many cases.... So the $35k+ price difference is the two vehicles is not worth it IMO.

      Just at Folsom, they want 40k for regular gt350 and $60k for the R. I said no. GM wouldn't even come out to talk unless I agreed to price. WTH? I asked, will you give me ADM back if I sell thru you? He laughed and said NO! WTH? NO? Seriously? ADM = Lost money, PLUS, you pay taxes on 100k. Lost money!! Actually, the R and the Tech Pack 350 (pictured in the video) don't have the same drive line. The R does have a different tranny and differential (the R has tranny and diff coolers) than the 2016 GT350 Tech Pack car pictured. Most of the rest is accurate, but I do wish Ford would have put hood struts on this vehicle. One other thing that distinguishes the GT350 from the R. All the accents on the R are RED, interior and exterior, including the brake calipers. It was a good informational video though! Thx

    if I had one either gt350 or the r spec version I would keep it in sport mode for the exhaust system

    • @BrawndoQC
      @BrawndoQC 8 лет назад

      It defaults back to normal exhaust mode when you turn off the engine. But it's a ritual among GT350 owners, as soon as you start the car first thing is to switch it back to sport exhaust.

    I am buying 2017 gt350 regular one. Internet is soo easy to ask dealers in state and out of state make your deal plus cost to ship $1200. Wait a minute, I don't have to pay $40k at Folsom? Nope, I saved $40k + 2400 (no ADM + 2400 additional dmv costs), Your local Ford dealer will help you no matter where you buy it from. ADM is Wasted money. I might buy it and take it to Folsom for service! Hummm, seriously, I could. Nope, I have more class than that and they aren't worth My time now. You see how that works.

    My ears want me to go for the R because the exhaust sounds even more scary. But my comfort wants me to go for the regular. I'd be driving this car long distances once or twice a year and would like ac and Bluetooth. Although you can add that to the R so maybe if i can afford the extra 10 grand

      It's only a few hundred to get a resonator delete pipe from Ford and convert your GT350 sound into GT350r.

  • @Borchert97

    The 350R, in my opinion, is not worth it. Nearly $15k more than the GT350, even more if you add the electronics package, which the GT350 has most of stock. You can tinker with the exhaust system and delete the resonator to get the R growl, and the only REAL difference is aesthetics, the lack of a rear seat, the cool carbon fiber wheels, and the wing.
    I know for certain that you can get the wing for less than 1k from AmericanMuscle, which means the only real difference in price is the wheels, a set of the GT350R's wheels will set you back nearly $15k, which is just about the price difference. Funny, huh? So yeah. For the R you're paying $15k extra for $15k carbon fiber wheels which they didn't even clear coat, they painted over them black, so you can't even confirm/prove that they are carbon fiber to your friends. In my opinion, there's no use in carbon fiber if it's painted, the look is half the fun.

      Emil Borchert it's worth it trust me. Gt350R laid down down a 7:32 at Nuremburg ring. Pretty impressive for 65-80,000$

    Ford needs to make as many as people want to order to stop that gouging or at least lower it quite a bit. It should be as easy as ordering a 4,6 or V8. If the entire 2017 run was 5.2 Shelby's so be it.
