    I might be wrong here but that Isner dude seems to be very likeable on court, very friendly and respectful too! Glad he managed to win this title in front of his people.

      To be honest, i hated him for a while due to him being a Trump supporter and him defending Sandgren after the latter's old social media posts expressing alt-right views were leaked, But seeing how he gave Chung credit after facing the latter in the quarters and the way he's carried himself as a whole, i'm beginning to think he's actually quite a likeable guy. His only real problem is that he supports that tangerine=faced, fascist skunk of a president.

    John Isner had every right to think this was just going to be another Masters 1000 Final loss to a better player, but he is one of a rare breed who never believes he's out of a match, and with that service, he isn't. Meanwhile, Alexander Zverev shrunk as the match went on. Go John and congratulations on the first Masters buddy (Y)

    Predicted John to win in 3 sets yesterday - I'm so happy for him! Having reached 10 Masters 1000 semifinals and 4 Masters 1000 finals, he surely deserved to win at least one of these titles - Always thought he was capable of surpassing his career high ranking of 9 and I think he can definitely achieve just that this year if he keeps playing well!

    This has to be my favourite moment of the year in Men's tennis. How can you not like John? And I'd seen him play Zverev close before but always come out the loser as Alex seemed to have a bit more class when it really mattered so this was such a monumental effort from John here

      Simpson, Roddick was able to win a Grand Slam and push Federer in that 2009 Wimby final. I def see the similarity it's just Roddick has a more successful career.

    • @kevinwang7731

      Simpson, Roddick was consistently in the top 5/10. Isner just came back to the top 10. There is a difference in how well their careers have been. Isner still has some time to prove how good he can be. Isner has admitted that he has several years left in him, so he's very focused to keep winning or playing his best tennis.

    First time Master 1000 tournament winners back to back shows what an opportunity the young guys have this year with Djokovic out of form; Nadal and Murray recovering from injury; Roger Federer has capitalized the same from past one year. I think all these will lead to the rise of new generation tennis players. May start with Chung, Zverev, Kyrgios... or somebody else winning a slam

    Zverev needs to work on his emotions, you can't be a legend with unstable emotions.. there are exceptions though. Kyrgios is the example, great player but hardly reaches top 15 in rankings.

    • @martydav9475
      @martydav9475 6 лет назад

      kuls43 I agree,they both have great talent but need to get stronger mentally.There are signs, though, that that might be starting to happen with Kyrgios.I really hope he doesn't' waste his talent.He does have that "look" about him though,I'm afraid.

    • @kuls43
      @kuls43 6 лет назад

      marty dav Yes it has to happen. Men tennis can't be dependent on big four forever. Age factor is working against them. These youngsters have to show some consistency to keep tennis quality high.

    • @martydav9475
      @martydav9475 6 лет назад

      kuls43 Yes you are right,the age factor and injuries are now really affecting the "big four".Nadal could still be strong,but Djokovich is struggling,Murray is struggling and Federer is 3 years away from 40.Age will surely catch up with him sooner or later.I know Federer and Nadal have won the last five Slams,but I don't think that will continue much longer.
