The story NEEDS Isolde to have actually loved Viego to work. It makes the story and Viego so much more compelling for it have not been a "He's just insane and obsessive" if they did actually love each other it just puts a fresh twist on what is otherwise just a classic villain trope

Isolde going insane was likely just from being brought back to 'life'. I don't think she hated Viego, she wouldn't have moved him out of the way of the assassin's knife if so. Still, that last scene of Viego crying as he looks into her eyes makes me feel really sad for him. I mean he's lost his marbles, but you can't deny that he truly seemed to love Isolde with everything he had.
Personally, I hate so much all these theories that "Isolde didn't love Viego, he just wanted to have her as thing". All of this just looks like trying to make Viego a completely bad guy and come up to the idea that "woman escapes from white abusive husband, unites with the black woman and now they are the one whole thing and will kick white cisgender man's ass"

He wasn't squeezing her hand... He was holding it, you can tell by how they draw his hand over hers. Pay attention to the detail on the arches of their hand, fingers, & the fabric as well. I believe it is more that she wanted a simple life with Viego, Viego wanted a life with her, but a Kingdom to rule is no simple life nor will it permit for anyone to have one.
from what i understand, isolde's soul split into several parts by the time she died, so at the point where she was "revived" there wasn't exactly much of her there anymore, which explains her reaction.
I think we need to know Isolde's point of view on her love with Viego. Because that will explain some parts of their story, (might) including the reason of her being freaked out after her revival with Water of Life. And maybe we need to also know her POV as a wraith. Because if she freaked out by Viego, why not with Senna, her doll (Gwen)?
So if Isolde already splitted herself into parts (like a Horcrux) before dying, then does that mean she already had a plan to come back to life in the first place.... yoooo that would be so lit the possibilities are endless.

In the cinematic where Viego collects Isolde's soul on Senna, she was screaming. That might be a hint why she split herself to avoid Viego and create hallowed mist to fight against the black mist.
I personally think they were happy together, but Isolde wasn’t happy because of what Viego did trying to bring her back. AKA, how much Viego did for her and cough cough, the ruination just for Isolde.

Dunno i have the suspicion that Thresh might want to "claim" the power of the black mist from viego or he's looking for a specific soul or something...he's definitly up to something that's for sure why else would he sneakily snatch souls away from the mist when Viego wasn't looking?^^ As for Yorick....it's a sin that despite all the lore reveals around the black mist etc. we still haven't gotten a single peep from Yorick...i mean you would think with all that movement from Viego etc. that he would do something.
I think thresh genrally has the last part of isoldes soul its pretty obvious senna was only cursed with her part of her soul after the lantern shattererd. I think akshan will shoot thresh this well free isolde partially but not fully because bam thresh well become unbound thresh and hell be free to wreck havoc as he pleases and knows hell have tortured viego because he knows that now viego will never be able to get isolde fully back and everything he did would be worthless. Also he was one of the few that inew what happened at the waters ane because he probably was one of the first to transform. Was able to absorb her its also clear that he was out for some time after isolde killed him
True. While a lot of people think viego forced isolde to marry him is a good story imo that type of story is way too overused at this point. Also making isolde and viego love each other very much would make viego insanity and isolde killing him better imo.
Honestly, this has no good ending, and if it does its bs. While i agree i want them to love each other, imagine what Isolde has gone through, imagine the pain and horror Viego inflicted over Runeterra " because of her ". This has no place to be a happy ending, there is too much shit that happened, too much hurt and too many things that Viego did wrong, and if Isolde chooses to stay with him and accept him as he is right now, she would be a fool and just proves nothing to the story in itself.

Well it's pretty simple why...because so far we've actually not gotten Isolde's part of the story or let alone what led her to stabbing Viego at that moment. So people take the easier path and say Isolde never loved him etc. It's only reinforced by the fact that the things we do know about Viego makes it easy for people to believe "Oh it's just a king forcing a commoner" and stuff like that. But the reality is that until we know what actually happen(from Isolde herself) we have no clue if she loved him or not...i mean if she didn't love or at the very least care about him she wouldn't have told Viego to move when that blade was coming towards him right? If she had wanted to get away from him she could've just kept silent and Viego would've died.
It can really go either way and that's what's so good about the story. We don't quite know what will happen yet and we can only ride along to see the end. But I guess people just hate Viego as a "selfish king" so they also think that Isolde hates Viego too.
It all boils down to Western Politics infecting Entertainment. There are MANY people who want Viego (and pretty much any "straight white male" in a position of power in entertainment) to be Evil, and it appears that Riot themselves are not immune to this. All of the voice lines outside of Viego's make it very, very clear that Isolde wants nothing to do with Viego right now, and there is nothing outside of Viego's own perspective that give any indication that Isolde ever wanted to be with Viego. (The comic is from Viego's perspective, so is an unreliable source until it is verified elsewhere. The reason that Lucien's isn't unreliable is that it has been verified by other sources, like Thresh and Senna.) So it looks like a classic case of "Powerful Man wants Beautiful Woman, Even if Beautiful Woman Does NOT Want Him", and as that fits with the current Political Narrative in the West, it is the Narrative that is dominating. Which SUCKS. I wish that Isolde was allowed to be just as toxic as Viego. Hell, I would LOVE it if it turned out that ISOLDE is the one who killed Viego's older brother(s) so that Viego could have the throne. Not because she wanted to be Queen, but her love for Viego was so potent and toxic that she was willing to murder his brothers to make him happy. I would LOVE it if it turned out that the knife that killed her WAS aimed at her, not Viego, because the Nobles thought that killing her was the only way to save the kingdom from civil war (Viego being the last of his line, if he died the kingdom would fall into Civil War and none of the other Nobles thought they had enough strength to risk a war with the other Nobles). I would love it if her love for Viego was as toxic as his love for her... but we're probably going to get a story where Isolde is a tragic victim of Male Arrogance and Privilege. In other words, a really boring story.

It's more in part of the information we get from the story, which isn't helped when it's coming from Viego, a man who loved his wife so much, he was spending more time with her than making sure the kingdom was safe. Also, destroyed a nation to try and bring her back.
Imagine Morde waits and comes in the last minute, taking Viego’s and anyone else’s souls during the fight in the black mist, and shows how much of a threat he is by demolishing the remaining ‘heroes’ to where they might’ve died and Rell and Akshan have to kill him so those dead heroes are back, sending Morde to now come back with new armour. He still lets LeBlanc know that he’s still around and is stronger, and had also learnt of Rell’s Weakness to be sent back with some of the legends and Viego forced to be his bitch in his realm and is one of the villians in the MMO.
This would be it chief. Also they could write it as a means to keep viego and thresh and all the other cool spookies, spooky, as now instead of the world shadow Isles fights morde in a perma stalemate until the lore needs them again
Going off Necrit’s question, here’s what my prediction is for Vex, based on that comment that Rioter said about her on Reddit: If Necrit is correct about his theory on how the story ends, I think this opens up the potential for Vex to take over and control the mist or even recorrupt Viego. Reav3 did imply that Vex is into Viego and in fact powered him up because of her love for Viego. I think if she saw Viego become uncorrupted and with Isolde, she would be naturally jealous and I think she could easily take the mist and make him into her personal servant or something like that. A way she could control the mist is maybe use the blade as a medium as it was the cause for the mist. That black mist has to come from somewhere and while the obvious answer is Viego’s chest, would he really be spewing out that mist without the blade’s help to begin with? I think it’s a safe bet to say the blade was somehow corrupted whenever Isolde picked it up (since it sucks a bit of the wielder’s soul into it so her soul could corrupt the blade) or maybe when it was rammed through Viego, the blade made the black mist and just happened to allow Viego to spew it out of his chest. Even if she didn’t use her blade, my other guess on how she could control it is the fact her shadow magic is infused with black mist. Wild stretch here but I think it’s possible after her time on the isles, she could easily learn how to infuse her magic with the mist or maybe the mist slowly influences her magic to change shape. Could explain why she would have a living shadow (if I’m guessing that right from some other speculation I heard about), her shadow could be like the maiden. I think this is the best way forward as it would keep the shadow isles being the shadow isles, Yorick would still have a purpose (if he doesn’t show up in this event) and the isles can still be a sometime threat to the sentinels. Anyway, that’s my two cents going off what we know so far so I’m curious to see if I can be proven wrong.
I think Isolde really loved Viego. Viego wasn't really good at the whole ruling thing, but the people loved him, so he was probably a nice guy. And she did save him, too. Isolde becoming a wraith was likely the result of the traumatization of dying and being dragged back to life. Also, the waters of life were probably defiled by all the murder.

I thought that in the story Kalista is supposed to block the poisoned blade thrown at Viego and it just happens to hit Isolde instead and poisons her, but here in the comic Isolde just gets hit because she pushes Viego out of the way and Kalista is not even there. Am i missing something? Did they remake the story?

What we see in the comic could be what Viego wants to remember or maybe they are gonna change it, but I hope not :c
A curious detail: 6:18 When looking at the picture, mainly the dagger and the toppled chair, you can clearly see that Viego was not really in the projectiles line of fire. Now obviously it could be that the assassin simply missed. But I find that to be a unsatisfying explanation considering by how much the projectile missed. So, it could be that the assassin's aim was Isolde all along. Though I have no other prove and it kind of contradicts the canon that states that the attack was aimed at Viego. Anyway, one idea that struck me was that some nobel wanted to kill her so he could marry his daughter to the Viego or something of that sort. Maybe, after seeing how obendient Viego was to Isolde, he hoped that this way he could control Viego and make him into his puppet.

I love how they've been making these parallels between Viego/Isolde and Lucian/Senna. Kinda like that one moment in the first teaser where Lucian can either go and recover the fragment of Isolde, or save Senna from being killed by Viego. He goes for the woman he loves, at the cost of allowing the Ruined King to take another step towards his goal. Gotta say, this whole arc is making me thirsty for League lore like I haven't been in years.

In the comic the assasin literally misses his target and hits viego, and in the lore kalista stops the blade from hitting viego and thus it hits isolde
The end of Viego’s story reminds me of the deathly hallows story from Harry Potter. The part where the one wizard resurrects his wife, but she feels like she doesn’t belong in the mortal world so she goes mad. I like to think Isolde went crazy for the same reason.

I think why isolde screamed after she became a wraith is probably for a more natural reason like idk being disturbed from her afterlife rest or her react of coming back from the dead partly or maybe panicing of her missing body.
My theory is that when Isolde screamed she was being taken over by Thresh and he forced her to pick up the sword and attack Viego. 🤔 Something is telling me that he is mastermind behind all this
Viego found mages who can preserve her body, but can't revive her, and spent all the money on preserving her. While this sounds cool, i bet they just bought/sold tons of zhonya hourglass and that did the trick
It could be that it was after Kalista told Viego about the Blessed Isles through Hekerim, but didn't actually reveal the location of it which most likely explains the reasoning behind that part of the comic.
reading through that part of the comic, the only ones with faces in viego's time line are his, isolde's, those who interact with isolde and the people of the blessed isle which leads me to believe its told from his point of view. Isolde is the one with the most details all the time the one who interact with isolde become important because they are important for her he remembers the faces that rejected him from the blessed isle thresh has none, he wasnt important, isolde resurection was to which he was blind to the person giving him his solution. Lucian does the same thing, everything is more or less the same (green mist enemies) and the only thing that has any value for Lucian is the lantern, the chains and the scythe that took senna.
10:46 So this is just my speculation but what if the trip back to the mortal realm corrupted her in some way, perhaps the human soul handle can't such transitions? Keep in mind that Isolde is one of a kind, all the other souls trapped by the mist have been so since their death (to it's inhabitants mostly.) No other soul experienced being pulled back from the after life, from being fully unequivocally dead.
I guess the canonical reason why isolde was not rotting is because you can't show rotting or death related things in that specific country either. I do wonder how karthus is ok. Maybe that is why he is not in wild rift
Current viego is not the same as pre-ruin viego. he even says it himself "viego died when she did and the ruined king was born." the depression from losing her made him go crazy you can even see it in the comic on the panel where he finds the blessed isles he looks crazy. Also in the scene he probably found it after being told by Hec who got it from Kali. If i told you hey New York is east of California youd still need to look at a map right?
While in part I kinda agree about the Ruined King not being the same as the-prince-once-known-as-Viego for the Ruination leaves oneself as a wraith made of twisted desires (just like Kalista was once a decent human being now the only thing that remains is a manifestation of vengeance incarnate). On the other hand I also have to disagree in the sense that Legends of Runeterra's level 1 Viego flavour text implies that even when alive he was already sort of a madman (a c-word if you will)
Vex could be a really interesting player in this story but knowing Riot's track record with yordles *ahem Poppy *ahem it's also possible she's just a walking power battery for Viego with no importance aside from being the midboss the sentinels have to take out before being able to fight Viego proper.
Good chance if they somehow "Unruin" Viego or stop him and put him to finally rest with Isolde in the afterlife, Vex could take control of the mist out of jealously with Viego being with Isolde and not with her like it seems she wants to be.
@@GameGuy667 I was also thinking that at some point Vex was going to remove Viego's power out of jealousy allowing Thresh to bretray him but it seems like the mere implication of them being together aside from being a delusional thought of Vex is completely inconcievable for Riot, since they casually had to mention that Vex is a teenager, presumably to avoid shipping, and refused to elaborate any further, despite Bandle City's description in universe saying that yordles are timeless, as in, presumably they don't age.
I feel like there is since out of all the Shadow Isles champs we have now, Thresh became hot lmfao (Unbound Thresh) and he has to do something to be that hot, either taking what makes viego hot, or skinny dipping in the Shadow Isles

The real thing i like about the Uncorrupted blade of the ruined king, is that it's smaller. The spectral corrupted version looks too large to be used properly.
Here's a small problem- We know that someone should've tried to take out the assassin, they did it in broad sight. It was to deliver a message. Let alone there's no way you could go from a highly secure royal area without getting caught. He might be dead, meaning Isolde can never come back.
I think it would make a more interesting story if Isolde really did love Viego. There are no happy characters in league, maybe yordles or Zoe but they are depressed they just don't know it yet.
It would be a preaty big twist that the one who wanted to kill Viego was Isolde, herself, but an even bigger one would be that the assassin didn't miss and Isolde wanted herself gone
Why would you think they arent in love, wasnt it also said the viego didnt want to be king? So he probably has a really kind heart but hes gone crazy with grief? I assume shes probably startled by the crowd. Also the assassin could have gotten away no problem and left the country. You cant assume he was there then the black mist consumed the country, you cant assume he is dead. There is a giant portion of time before the mist consumed his home land.
Probably, it might actually be the case since the assasin looks like a female and vex IS a Yordle and Yordles are known to disguise themselves to look human so I think she must of done it.
My money is on this: In the end It was Viego himself who killed Isolde when she was resurrected as a wraith. Viego meets Akshan and learns that the absolver can resurrect the victims of a killer. Faced with this choice, Viego kills himself with the absolver. Thresh takes over as the ruler of the Shadow isles
My theory on why she went mad was because she knows what hes done up until then, the amount of people who have suffered and died at his hand, for her sake.
I really wanna know how the event will end. I don't think they can really stop the black mist because in doing so, every champion from the Shadow Isles will literally have all their stories completed and or be frozen until Riot figures out a solution for them to still be a part of the lore. They can't kill of Viego either because there is no way they would kill off a champion and still be a part of the game. You could say Mordekaiser isn't really in Runeterra and is technically dead but he has plans to come back so I'm really interested on if Riot can pull this off and blow us away.

I think thresh genrally has the last part of isoldes soul its pretty obvious senna was only cursed with her part of her soul after the lantern shattererd. I think akshan will shoot thresh this well free isolde partially but not fully because bam thresh well become unbound thresh and hell be free to wreck havoc as he pleases and knows hell have tortured viego because he knows that now viego will never be able to get isolde fully back and everything he did would be worthless.
Also he was one of the few that inew what happened at the waters ane because he probably was one of the first to transform. Was able to absorb her its also clear that he was out for some time after isolde killed him

Honestly, this has no good ending, and if it does its bs. While i agree i want them to love each other, imagine what Isolde has gone through, imagine the pain and horror Viego inflicted over Runeterra " because of her ". This has no place to be a happy ending, there is too much shit that happened, too much hurt and too many things that Viego did wrong, and if Isolde chooses to stay with him and accept him as he is right now, she would be a fool and just proves nothing to the story in itself.

damn I really feel bad for Viego, you can tell he really loved Isolde to the point where losing her drove him mad. Losing a loved on is not easy. Sure he wasn't the best king for his country but damn both their stories are tragic.
Why people try so hard to make Viego and Isolde relationship a “she never loved him, she was forced” lol anyways I love the parallelisms between Viego and Lucian
Well it's pretty simple why...because so far we've actually not gotten Isolde's part of the story or let alone what led her to stabbing Viego at that moment. So people take the easier path and say Isolde never loved him etc. It's only reinforced by the fact that the things we do know about Viego makes it easy for people to believe "Oh it's just a king forcing a commoner" and stuff like that. But the reality is that until we know what actually happen(from Isolde herself) we have no clue if she loved him or not...i mean if she didn't love or at the very least care about him she wouldn't have told Viego to move when that blade was coming towards him right? If she had wanted to get away from him she could've just kept silent and Viego would've died.
It can really go either way and that's what's so good about the story. We don't quite know what will happen yet and we can only ride along to see the end.
But I guess people just hate Viego as a "selfish king" so they also think that Isolde hates Viego too.
It all boils down to Western Politics infecting Entertainment. There are MANY people who want Viego (and pretty much any "straight white male" in a position of power in entertainment) to be Evil, and it appears that Riot themselves are not immune to this. All of the voice lines outside of Viego's make it very, very clear that Isolde wants nothing to do with Viego right now, and there is nothing outside of Viego's own perspective that give any indication that Isolde ever wanted to be with Viego. (The comic is from Viego's perspective, so is an unreliable source until it is verified elsewhere. The reason that Lucien's isn't unreliable is that it has been verified by other sources, like Thresh and Senna.)
So it looks like a classic case of "Powerful Man wants Beautiful Woman, Even if Beautiful Woman Does NOT Want Him", and as that fits with the current Political Narrative in the West, it is the Narrative that is dominating. Which SUCKS.
I wish that Isolde was allowed to be just as toxic as Viego. Hell, I would LOVE it if it turned out that ISOLDE is the one who killed Viego's older brother(s) so that Viego could have the throne. Not because she wanted to be Queen, but her love for Viego was so potent and toxic that she was willing to murder his brothers to make him happy. I would LOVE it if it turned out that the knife that killed her WAS aimed at her, not Viego, because the Nobles thought that killing her was the only way to save the kingdom from civil war (Viego being the last of his line, if he died the kingdom would fall into Civil War and none of the other Nobles thought they had enough strength to risk a war with the other Nobles). I would love it if her love for Viego was as toxic as his love for her... but we're probably going to get a story where Isolde is a tragic victim of Male Arrogance and Privilege. In other words, a really boring story.

It's more in part of the information we get from the story, which isn't helped when it's coming from Viego, a man who loved his wife so much, he was spending more time with her than making sure the kingdom was safe. Also, destroyed a nation to try and bring her back.
Imagine Morde waits and comes in the last minute, taking Viego’s and anyone else’s souls during the fight in the black mist, and shows how much of a threat he is by demolishing the remaining ‘heroes’ to where they might’ve died and Rell and Akshan have to kill him so those dead heroes are back, sending Morde to now come back with new armour. He still lets LeBlanc know that he’s still around and is stronger, and had also learnt of Rell’s Weakness to be sent back with some of the legends and Viego forced to be his bitch in his realm and is one of the villians in the MMO.
Man if they had Morde come back to life AGAIN just to show how HE is the TRUE king holy fuck.
This would be it chief. Also they could write it as a means to keep viego and thresh and all the other cool spookies, spooky, as now instead of the world shadow Isles fights morde in a perma stalemate until the lore needs them again
Going off Necrit’s question, here’s what my prediction is for Vex, based on that comment that Rioter said about her on Reddit:
If Necrit is correct about his theory on how the story ends, I think this opens up the potential for Vex to take over and control the mist or even recorrupt Viego. Reav3 did imply that Vex is into Viego and in fact powered him up because of her love for Viego. I think if she saw Viego become uncorrupted and with Isolde, she would be naturally jealous and I think she could easily take the mist and make him into her personal servant or something like that.
A way she could control the mist is maybe use the blade as a medium as it was the cause for the mist. That black mist has to come from somewhere and while the obvious answer is Viego’s chest, would he really be spewing out that mist without the blade’s help to begin with? I think it’s a safe bet to say the blade was somehow corrupted whenever Isolde picked it up (since it sucks a bit of the wielder’s soul into it so her soul could corrupt the blade) or maybe when it was rammed through Viego, the blade made the black mist and just happened to allow Viego to spew it out of his chest. Even if she didn’t use her blade, my other guess on how she could control it is the fact her shadow magic is infused with black mist. Wild stretch here but I think it’s possible after her time on the isles, she could easily learn how to infuse her magic with the mist or maybe the mist slowly influences her magic to change shape. Could explain why she would have a living shadow (if I’m guessing that right from some other speculation I heard about), her shadow could be like the maiden. I think this is the best way forward as it would keep the shadow isles being the shadow isles, Yorick would still have a purpose (if he doesn’t show up in this event) and the isles can still be a sometime threat to the sentinels.
Anyway, that’s my two cents going off what we know so far so I’m curious to see if I can be proven wrong.
I think Isolde really loved Viego. Viego wasn't really good at the whole ruling thing, but the people loved him, so he was probably a nice guy. And she did save him, too. Isolde becoming a wraith was likely the result of the traumatization of dying and being dragged back to life. Also, the waters of life were probably defiled by all the murder.

How to delete Kalista in 2 simple moves
A curious detail:
6:18 When looking at the picture, mainly the dagger and the toppled chair, you can clearly see that Viego was not really in the projectiles line of fire. Now obviously it could be that the assassin simply missed. But I find that to be a unsatisfying explanation considering by how much the projectile missed. So, it could be that the assassin's aim was Isolde all along.
Though I have no other prove and it kind of contradicts the canon that states that the attack was aimed at Viego.
Anyway, one idea that struck me was that some nobel wanted to kill her so he could marry his daughter to the Viego or something of that sort. Maybe, after seeing how obendient Viego was to Isolde, he hoped that this way he could control Viego and make him into his puppet.

The end of Viego’s story reminds me of the deathly hallows story from Harry Potter. The part where the one wizard resurrects his wife, but she feels like she doesn’t belong in the mortal world so she goes mad. I like to think Isolde went crazy for the same reason.

I think why isolde screamed after she became a wraith is probably for a more natural reason like idk being disturbed from her afterlife rest or her react of coming back from the dead partly or maybe panicing of her missing body.
My theory is that when Isolde screamed she was being taken over by Thresh and he forced her to pick up the sword and attack Viego. 🤔 Something is telling me that he is mastermind behind all this

reading through that part of the comic, the only ones with faces in viego's time line are his, isolde's, those who interact with isolde and the people of the blessed isle which leads me to believe its told from his point of view.

thresh has none, he wasnt important, isolde resurection was to which he was blind to the person giving him his solution.

Keep in mind that Isolde is one of a kind, all the other souls trapped by the mist have been so since their death (to it's inhabitants mostly.) No other soul experienced being pulled back from the after life, from being fully unequivocally dead.

Current viego is not the same as pre-ruin viego. he even says it himself "viego died when she did and the ruined king was born." the depression from losing her made him go crazy you can even see it in the comic on the panel where he finds the blessed isles he looks crazy. While in part I kinda agree about the Ruined King not being the same as the-prince-once-known-as-Viego for the Ruination leaves oneself as a wraith made of twisted desires (just like Kalista was once a decent human being now the only thing that remains is a manifestation of vengeance incarnate). On the other hand I also have to disagree in the sense that Legends of Runeterra's level 1 Viego flavour text implies that even when alive he was already sort of a madman (a c-word if you will)

Vex could be a really interesting player in this story but knowing Riot's track record with yordles *ahem Poppy *ahem it's also possible she's just a walking power battery for Viego with no importance aside from being the midboss the sentinels have to take out before being able to fight Viego proper.
Good chance if they somehow "Unruin" Viego or stop him and put him to finally rest with Isolde in the afterlife, Vex could take control of the mist out of jealously with Viego being with Isolde and not with her like it seems she wants to be.

I think it would make a more interesting story if Isolde really did love Viego. There are no happy characters in league, maybe yordles or Zoe but they are depressed they just don't know it yet.

Why would you think they arent in love, wasnt it also said the viego didnt want to be king? So he probably has a really kind heart but hes gone crazy with grief? I assume shes probably startled by the crowd. Also the assassin could have gotten away no problem and left the country. You cant assume he was there then the black mist consumed the country, you cant assume he is dead. There is a giant portion of time before the mist consumed his home land.
He found the location of the blessed isles in the map, not necessarily means that he found the blessed isles himself. At least that's my perspective.

I don't think they can really stop the black mist because in doing so, every champion from the Shadow Isles will literally have all their stories completed and or be frozen until Riot figures out a solution for them to still be a part of the lore. They can't kill of Viego either because there is no way they would kill off a champion and still be a part of the game. You could say Mordekaiser isn't really in Runeterra and is technically dead but he has plans to come back so I'm really interested on if Riot can pull this off and blow us away.
