Looks good but wish it was 1/50. Its time for a new 1/50 tower crane. A luffing tower crane would be really nice.

It‘s not fair. 1:50 has a huge variety of construction machinery models (except tower cranes), but not that many trucks and accessories. 1:87 has a huge variety of truck&accessories, a decent amount of tower cranes but a very small range of (modern) construction equipment. :(
I can imagine how big this thing is going to be in 1/50.

It doesn’t seem possible that fiber rope has a 20% more lifting capability then steel rope .. very cool model , I may need to find a reason to have one on my HO layout.
jim smoter was this 1/87th? I’m building a Kibri one now that I modified to be taller and longer. I added an extra section of tower and jib to it.
I have a video on my channel on my first tower crane. I used parts from that one to build my second one.

Have this model some time now, very nice model, however, I wasn't satisfied with the length of the jib, it was too long and leaned forward too much, and as for the rope for the hook, once you lower it down a bit, it dones't stay clean and striaght, it laps over

I'd like to take advantage of 3D printing technology to make exceptionally detailed models. once metal 3D printing becomes more affordable to the average person.
Sounds good. But I imagine you would need a ton of data about the real machine to do it properly.
@@CranesEtcTV I suppose if I'm convincing enough I could get the manufacturer to agree to share that with me as well as license me to use their logo and likeness of their product. if they are willing to cooperate we could take a series of detailed 3D scans of the real machines and scale that down and separate the parts in software before printing it out.
